Don't think I've ever talked about this vessel I adopted from @inkbarista/what I came up with for them. (Tumblr won't properly link the @ cause it shit the bed and thinks one or both of us blocked eachother even though we both blocked and unblocked each other to try and fix it.)

Anyway, read more for pictures/length Their name is Tres, for soon to be obvious reasons.

This is the original art I got/adopted from inkbarista. The idea I came up with for them is that they were a flawed vessel given to Soul Master for us in his soul experiments, given vessels already have an inherent ability to focus soul. They were essentially pumped full of as much soul they could contain and then drained. Because of this their capacity for soul was gradually ‘stretched’ and they can now contain more soul then most other vessels. However they’re untrained and only so far have figured out how to pick objects up with soul and throw them.

This is art I recently commissioned from inkbarista (We keep talking over Discord cause it’s actually functional.) Obviously, this is Tres but older. With additional time under their belt they could easily learn other spells. They’re still physically weak from being hooked up to a machine for who knows how long, but good luck getting close enough to hurt them.

As you can probably tell from the title of the blog and icon, this blog is sort of the homepage for a Hollow Knight and Bug Fables I am currently writing. The purple garbed vessel would rub their head, trying to think of how to answer them. Well, first things first they should probably tell them they couldn’t, well, speak.

The smaller bug would to it’s best to try and gesture the fact that while Visim could communicate vocally, they couldn’t.

“Ah… Well that certainly breeds a problem then, doesn’t it?” visim rubbed his one visible eye and his forehead in some gesture of slight frustration. “I should have considered that.” Visim takes a paper from a nearby stack. His hand glows a soft white as he uses soul to sift through them and locate a few blank pages. That and an old pen with some ink he takes with his hand. All of that carefully balanced.

“Here. Can you write?”

The vessel would stare as Visim used soul to carefully sift through the papers and retrieve a pen, fascinated by the amount of control they had over it. Sure was better then when they used it. They’d stare at the stack of materials for a few moments before nodding, taking them before sitting down.

It’d take only a minute for the bug to write down their answers, presenting Visim with a list:

1. Am lost, yes.

2. Tres. Because of three eyes.

3. Do not know why here. Trapped. Attached to machine. Experiments. Recently escaped.

It’s handwriting grew...unstable at the last point, as if it had been shaking as it did. Whatever experiments it spoke of, it clearly hadn’t enjoyed.

The vessel would stumble back as the strange, half melted bug pushed them away with his umbrella. It’d simply watch as he cast some sort of spell, releasing the souls held within the mistake. It’s mask was unusual, with three holes instead of two with the third of the trio higher up, near the forehead area. It’d simply shrug at the question of what they were.

Even they didn’t know the answer to that question.

“Are you lost, then? Do you have a name? Why are you here?” He asks. “I apologize for all the questions but I myself am a tad lost.”

What a horrible fate, he thought. To be promised immortality, melted beyond recognition, only to have your own soul robbed from you and used by someone better off. Cruel indeed. Visim came in and used their umbrella to back the vessel off before resting that umbrella on his back and using his free, and only, hand to dispel the souls trapped in that bug. The souls simply fade out, unable to be collected.

“What are you?” He says, looking to the vessel.
