Between rescues, logging datapads, and participating in general island life, Heatwave had plenty of things to keep him busy, but he always kept an audio sensor feed tuned into Kup’s frequency on the off chance that his soldier would announce an early homecoming.
The firebot was in the process of restocking his personal medkit when he heard the thumping and clattering of heavy objects hitting the floor.
Then he heard a voice he’d only been able to dream about for the past few months. Abandoning his chore, Heatwave hurried to the common area in time to see a familiar frame settling into one of the recliners.
“Kup! You really are home!” He ran across the floor and jumped into his love’s lap. The chair might have tilted back alarmingly at the sudden shift in weight, but Heatwave was too busy catching Kup’s lipplates with his own to even notice.
“I missed you so much…”
@faultfindingfirebot
Kup had been radio silent for a long while - having been sent on a covert operation. Commandoes early as he has been sent so far out of range, on one of the farthest satellite outliers. Needless to say, it's been a hell of a long time since he'd last been around base.
The door to the firehouse is flung open and he quickly dumps his hatchet, blasters, and pack on the ground. He's utterly exhausted, and in dire need of both fuel and company.
"Honey, ah'm home" he calls out in the most sing songy tone he can muster before plopping down in one of the recliners. Hopefully Heatwave's around. If not, Kup will be ransacking the fridge.

“Sounds very time consuming, and intricate, and scientific… but clearly well worth the effort. Being able to scan a third form was one of the most sought after abilities of the war… that and scouting out a somewhat steady supply of energon.”
Heatwave swirled the contents of his cube thoughtfully, nowadays it was a little strange to think just how difficult it had been to find even minuscule energon deposits back when the war was in full swing.
“I’d love a chance to meet your friend if it’s possible, and to be honest, I’d really enjoy spending some free time with you….” He chuckled, “if Boulder and Doc Greene will ever give you any, that is.”

Robustus had only visited Earth twice before. Those times it was medical check-ups for the Rescue Bot crew on Griffon Rock. He only remained long enough to do the check-ups and nothing further.
He arrives outside the fire station in a 1987 Chevrolet ambulance alternate mode. The same one he used on his prior visits. He blips his siren to attract attention.
If no one is about, he'd simply wait for them to return from whatever Griffon Rock had thrown at the team this time.

[Haven’t been super active thanks to life, the universe, and everything, but I still wanted to give you guys a heads up that I’ll be traveling from the 11th-16th. I’ll work on replies that I owe and try to plot out some fun stuff maybe while I’m away (internet where we’re going is a bit finicky) but definitely when I get back!]
Love you guys! ❤️]

[The clothing has very limited color options, but styling is alright. Nothing really screamed fire/smoke theme, so I went with some water type stuff to match Heatwave’s fire boat mode, and he’s holding a little chunk of energon crystal.
The stopper charm is an homage to the artists who always use a heart as a stand in for the Autobot symbol]

Heatwave squeezed Roddy’s waist, his field radiating warmth and love. “Then I’ll be sure to do it more often.” He pressed a softer kiss to the Prime’s dermas before nuzzling into his neck cables with a content sigh.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been happier…”
" ❗❗❗ " Heatwave to Roddy
Send " ❗❗❗ " for your muse to suddenly and unexpectedly kiss mine.
A small startled trill came from the speedster's engine at the sudden kiss, but he was soon melting into it as his arms wrapped around Heatwave to keep him close. Rodimus began to purr as he returned the kiss with great tenderness and love, lightly rubbing at the firebot's lower back.
When he parted, he gave a lazy but no less affectionate smile to his lover. "That's a surprise I could stand more of."

[I wanted to make the headphones yellow for his lights, but the color was weird, so I made his audio sensors. I was going to give him five o clock shadow, but the stubble wasn’t matching up to the jawline I chose, so you get freshly shaved baby face ‘Wave.]

“You looked like you could use a break, and I was kinda lonesome…”
Heatwave pressed his lipplates to Rodimus’s helm, engine purring contently.
Heatwave’s holding his arms out invitingly.
“Wanna come snuggle with me, Hot Stuff?”
The Prime is quick to oblige, wrapping his arms around the firebot and nuzzling into his neck.
"As if I'd say no to that." A soft ex-vent is given as he just soaks in Heatwave's touch. It had been a long day.

Why would anyone in their right processor want a sparkling with you?
Heatwave’s optic ridge went up and he shrugged.
“Beats me. Why don’t you go ask? I’m sure it’ll go over well.”

Ah, this glorious pool scene from Rescue Bots' "Back to Virtual Reality." This scene sure blessed us with a wonderful shirtless Chief Burns! Of course, that's not forgetting about the others, including that lifeguard. I'm personally a fan of this scene for the shirtless Daddy Burns, though.

“You built triple changers? Like, ‘constructed from the ground up’ kind of build? Or reworked T-cogs so bots could scan a second vehicle form?”
Either way, it would be an impressive feat. As far as Heatwave knew, T-cog work required incredible precision and remarkable patience.

[Forgot just how damn CREEPY that hypno-phone episode gets…. Not only everyone’s behavior, but how FAST Madeline Pynch got those phones out to every single person on the island.]

Once again, nice to be an unobtrusive bot on a tiny island…

Heatwave had barely taken a step toward the bridge when he found himself with his arms full of Prime.
An almost giddy sense of nervous excitement swept through him and he could swear he felt the little barely there blip attached to his spark become warmer as he caught Rodimus’s dermas for a proper kiss.
“Mm, I’m sure I will, but listen… Listen, there’s something you need to know. It’ll definitely change things up a bit… in a good way…” Heatwave pulled back just far enough to offer Rodimus the datapad, taking the opportunity to smooth a bent corner on the printout he still held while he waited to see if his precious prime was any more adept at reading medical jargon than he himself was.
A tiny laugh might escape as he waits.
As he waited to dock with the Lost Light, Heatwave paced anxiously around the Sigma’s small flight deck.
Halting suddenly, he extracted two items from his subspace and looked them over for the billionth time. In one servo was a datapad, a medical report with a bunch of mystifying technical terminology that, according to Ratchet, fully corroborated what was shown on the printout that the firebot held in his other servo.
It was the printout that Heatwave was so anxious for Rodimus to see. It would change their lives! And Primus, could this docking procedure be any slower?!?!
Just on the other side of the docking port stood Rodimus, eager to greet his beloved as soon as he crossed the bridge. Once the docking was complete, he couldn't bring himself to wait long enough for Heatwave to walk over himself, rushing into the Sigma to meet the firebot with a big grin.
As soon as he saw the other, he didn't even register the things in his servos and swept him into a big hug, immediately peppering his face with kisses.
"Finally! I think you'll love it on the Light. Definitely a cast of colorful characters, but they've all got their charm."

Ugh, why are his audio sensors STILL ringing?
Wait…. that’s the emergency alarm, and only the third time so far today. Must be a lot of people already on vacation.
