Thena knows what she's doing. And that open shirt is 100% for narration purposes, it's environmental storytelling.

MCD/Aphmau characters in a dnd au, part 3!
part 1 here, part 2 here
new guys:
Cadenza - Half-elf (high elf) - lvl 14 Bard(College of Glamour, 10)/ Fighter(Champion, 4) - Merchant Background - Neutral Good 14 str, 15 dex, 13 con, 14 int, 12 wis, 16 cha The daughter of a merchant living in Meteli, training her own magical abilities in secret, with the help of a mage living in the swamps around her hometown.
Dante - Water Genasi (he is a fish) - lvl 8 Fighter(Battle Master) - Farmer Background - Lawful Good 15 str, 16 dex, 15 con, 14 int, 11 wis, 12 cha A young boy from the village of Boboros, now destroyed. He left home following the sudden disappearance of his older brother, travelling across Ru'aun in search of him, eventually joining up with the adventuring group from Phoenix Drop to better his chances.
Gene - Water Genasi (also a fish) - lvl 17 Bard(College of Whispers, 9)/ Rogue(Arcane Trickster, 8) - Guard Background - Neutral Evil 13 str, 14 dex, 12 con, 16 int, 12 wis, 16 cha A young man from the now destroyed village of Boboros, he abandoned his place on the village's guard, as well as his mother and younger brother, seeking more for himself without "dead weight" tying him down. He joined a group promising him power, and started working towards mastery of his innate magical abilities.
Sasha - Human - lvl 16 Wizard(Evoker, 14)/Rogue(2) - Sage Background - Neutral Evil 10 str, 15 dex, 14 con, 18 int, 12 wis, 13 cha Originally from Meteli, she spent her formative years training with the mad mage outside the swamp town, honing her abilities and learning the history of the region's Gods, especially the forgotten God of Shadows. She followed her interest to a group promising her more knowledge and power, joining them to further her abilities.
Nicole - Dragonborn (silver) - lvl 16 Monk(Warrior of the Open Hand) - Noble Background - Neutral Good 16 str, 16 dex, 14 con, 14 int, 13 wis, 12 cha The only child of the Lord of Scaleswind, the second-largest city in Ru'aun. She was promised to the eldest son of O'khasis at a very young age, growing up knowing she was expected to marry and bear children and be a good little housewife- ew. She ran away from home as a teenager, fleeing to the far north and joining a monastery following the ways of The Onslaught. She learned to fight, eventually meeting and getting befriended by the adventuring band from Phoenix Drop.
Castor - Aarakocra - lvl 20 Sorcerer(Wild Magic) - Hermit Background - Chaotic Neutral 12 str, 14 dex, 15 con, 16 int, 15 wis, 16 cha The "Mad Mage" living outside of Meteli, once a respected member of the community, now an elusive hermit hidden deep in the swamp, almost impossible to find if he wants to stay hidden. He taught Sasha her magic, and now regrets it, knowing what she's up to. He hopes that his new student will turn out better.
Lucinda - Human - lvl 16 Wizard(War Magic) - Noble Background - Chaotic Neutral 12 str, 14 dex, 14 con, 17 int, 13 wis, 13 cha The heir to the Lord of Pikoro Village, a bit of a hermit within her community, she's not particularly well-liked due to her use of wizardry and witchcraft. She's entirely self-taught and very talented, eventually getting herself recruited by an adventuring band from Phoenix Drop, choosing to leave the prejudice and judgement her hometown holds for her behind.
Nicole's draconic ancestry shows itself in silver scales and claws on her forearms and lower legs, tiny spikes and scales down her spine, a tail and small wings that she can make larger to allow for flight. She's a few generations from the actual dragon in her lineage, so she looks mostly human. Similarly, Castor is mostly human-looking, with feathered wings, and talon-like hands and feet.
anyway, let me know thoughts, opinions, and if there are any other MCD characters to add (already planning to do the JO9, and some other Lore posts for this AU)
I do have a vague semblance of plot forming, but this au's story would probably be mostly shenanigans and side-quests, like most dnd campaigns.

thinking about Aphmau characters in a dnd-esque setting and made a few in dndbeyond using the 2024 ruleset
here's the characters I've done so far:

Zenix - Human - lvl 8 Rogue(Thief) - Criminal background - Chaotic Neutral 12 str, 16 dex, 13 con, 14 int, 13 wis, 14 cha genuinely just a little shit. an urchin on the streets of Phoenix Drop who steals to survive, and sometimes also for fun. Completely by accident, he gets himself wrapped up in the adventuring business when Aphmau starts putting a team together
Garroth - Human - lvl 14 Paladin(Oath of Devotion) - Noble background - Lawful Neutral 18 str, 10 dex, 14 con, 12 int, 12 wis, 15 cha Originally, he swore his oath to his younger brother, the heir to O'khasis, but after both of them abandoned their home, they were suddenly recruited by an ambitious new adventurer to join her team, accepting without any other real options
Zane - Human - lvl 13 Cleric(Grave Domain, 10)/Warlock(Fiend patron, 3) - Noble background - Neutral 8 str, 10 dex, 12 con, 15 int, 16 wis, 18 cha The former heir of O'khasis who may or may not have made a deal with a literal devil (oops). On the run with his other brother and sworn protector, eventually getting recruited to a newly forming adventurer's group
Laurance - Half-elf (woodland elf) - lvl 10 rogue(Arcane Trickster, 4)/fighter(Eldritch Knight, 6) - Merchant background - Chaotic Good 12 str, 15 dex, 13 con, 14 int, 11 wis, 16 cha A charming merchant's son from Meteli, also extremely cursed. He was driven from his hometown because of the destructive nature of the magic he was cursed with, eventually being accepted into the little adventurer's group in Phoenix Drop
Katelyn - Human - lvl 12 Monk(Warrior of the Elements, 8)/Barbarian (Berserker, 4) - Soldier background - Lawful Neutral 16 str, 16 dex, 14 con, 13 int, 14 wis, 10 cha A former guard in O'khasis, was dismissed after the sudden death of her closest friend, now caring for his daughter in the quiet town of Phoenix Drop. Until that daughter disappeared one night, and Katelyn was scouted by the newly gathering adventurer's group
Aaron - Human(??) - lvl 14 Barbarian(Wild Heart) - Noble background - Neutral 16 str, 15 dex, 15 con, 14 int - 13 wis, 10 cha Doesn't live in or even near Phoenix Drop, a feral man living in the tundra to the south who gets picked up by the group a little later on their adventures. Once, he was the Lord of a prosperous town, until a fateful night that the whole town either vanished or died. Rumours say the former lord is cursed with lycanthropy and killed them all himself in a blind rage
That's all I've got for the moment. Gonna make more later, also might turn it into a fanfic, idk
there is like, the vaguest semblance of a plot in my head rn
I have no idea if this is actually gonna go anywhere, but it was fun.
anyway, let me know what classes/subclasses I should make other characters cuz I am 100% making more of these it's very fun
edit: here's part two now that's its up

Updated post about Magi
I did one of these forever ago (here), but that information is a little outdated and kinda messy, so here's an updated one to go along with the Beastfolk post I did not as long ago.
There are a number of magical beings that live alongside humans on Ru'aun, and in other regions. Magical beings that are humanoid are referred to collectively as Magi.
Ru'aunic Magi are: Witches/Warlocks, Vampires, Aquatic Sirens, and Elves.
Other Magi in other regions are: Demons, Faeries, Aerial Sirens, and Harpies.
All Magi can be found in all regions, in varying different forms, and some are far more common in some places than others.
Magi are beings with Innate Magicks, powerful Magicks that alter their physical appearances and physiology, making them distinct species from humans. Magick comes from a piece of the individual's soul, called Mana. All magical beings have Mana, from Magi to Shadow Knights, and the amount varies between species and individuals.
Mana can also come from other magical things, such as gemstones, flowers, trees or even animals, etc. Mana can be shared between individuals, or forcefully drained. Magi are also able to draw from or feed their Magick with other magical components to spells, which are listed below.
this is a very long post, so individual species info under cut.
Witches are the most common type of Magi in Ru'aun and Tu'la. They are arguably the most powerful native to Ru'aun. Witches are also the most similar in appearance to humans. Their Magicks are varied and powerful, feeding off of magical items ranging from flowers and roots, to gemstones and animal parts, to even still living beings to fuel their spells, rituals and enchantments.
As stated, witches, and by extension Warlocks, the male equivalent, look the most like humans of all Magi. Their ears are faintly pointed, their eyes give off a soft glow in shadow, never appearing darker than as they are in broad daylight, and they are often born with mystical markings across their skin that glow when casting.
Lucinda, as an example, has golden runes scribed across her arms that resemble abstract swirls of flame intertwined with small rose flowers. Lord Hailey has pale grey and lavender marks on her upper arms and face that resemble swirls of wind and snow, with a crescent moon on her forehead.
Every witch and warlock's runes are unique, even in identical twins, by both colour and design. Each individual additionally has a particular type of Magick they specialize their training in. Lucinda is a Warcaster, a witch who focusses on offense and defence on the battle field, while Ivan had his focus on curses.
Vampires are another Magi race who closely resemble humans, almost indistinguishable at a glance. Vampires have elongated canines, sharp feline-like pupils and sharp pointed nails. Unlike many tales claim, Vampires are not immortal. They can live for up to three-hundred years, all things going well, though most don't live past two-hundred. They have an extreme sensitivity to bright light, especially sunlight, blinding them and even burning them like fire with prolonged exposure to bare skin.
Their Magicks focus greatly around hemocraft, blood Magicks, outlawed in three of the four kingdoms of Tu'la, and in more than two thirds of Ru'aun's villages. Hemocraft can be used to control a body like a doll or puppet, to the point of snapping bones with a twitch of fingers. Blood is a powerful component in a number of rituals and spells cast by both vampires and witches.
Unlike every other Magi race, vampires are able to turn humans into their own kind, through a long and painful ritual that involves the consumption of another vampire's heart. Vampires born this way are called Reborn, and will never be as powerful as pure vampires who were born that way, they won't live nearly as long, and must consume blood daily for the rest of their lives.
Sirens are separated into two distinct species- Aquatic and Aerial. Aquatic Sirens are native and quite common in Ru'aun, while Aerial Sirens are natives in Tu'la. Both are costal dweller, as at home underwater as they are on land. They are human-looking, but have some very distinctly inhuman trains, sharing a number of traits as well- four-fingered hands, webbed fingers, and thin fins on the sides of their heads where their ears would be.
Aquatic Sirens have long, thin scaled tails with vertical fins on the lower two-thirds of them, bony fins on their elbows, and gills on their sides that follow the curve and placement of their ribs. They are almost entirely aquatic, residing in both shallow freshwater, and the deepest oceans. They have both lungs and gills, and can freely roam between land and sea, though it takes a few minutes to adjust between each biome.
Aerial Sirens have small, streamlined wings on their backs, and feather tail, designed for gliding swiftly through the water, but fully functional for short-distance flights and sharp turns and dives. They are naturally tall and lightweight, and while they do not have gills, they can hold their breaths for several hours at a time, and move with extreme agility and grace both in and out of the water.
Both subspecies of Siren possess two types of Magick- aquakinesis, the ability to manipulate and control water, and mind manipulation, the much more powerful ability to change memories and control minds. Both of these abilities are draining on the user, feeding off of their actual life force, or the life force of other around them. Sirens were once created by the Ocean Goddess, and are able to replenish their mana by simply returning to the sea, soaking in the natural magic that flows through the tides. For this reason, most sirens live along the coasts, ready to return to their primordial home should they need it. Siren Magicks are the least likely to result in severe consequences, and have the lowest cost to use.
Elves are the most elusive Magi on Ru'aun, found only in select places, called Groves, such as the Yggdrasil Grove that Zoey comes from. The Elves are very connected to nature, able to grow plants and bend them to their will, communicate with animals, and plants in some cases, and even heal others to an extent. The cost of this magic is the elves' own health. Injuries and pains they heal will be transferred to the elf in a lesser extent, and quickening the growth of a plant will cause their own flowers to wilt.
They are tall and elegant beings, with long, thin pointed ears and delicate builds. Most elves have small, antler-like horns that look like small tree branches, and often have small blossoms growing on them that bloom and wilt in time with the individual's physical and mental health. Elves with flowers but no horns have their flowers tangled their hair, and those with horns but no flowers will often adorn their horns with paintings, carvings and rings, or will tie plants from the forests into their hair by choice.
There are other variants of elves- Wood Elves are the most common, with bright blossoms and small antlers. Frost Elves live in colder areas, and have small leaves and large, usually paler-coloured antlers. And Sun Elves live in the hottest environments and usually don't have plants at all, but often have two sets of small antlers, and rarely are born with small, dragon-like wings.
Faeries are natives to Tu'la, sharing the same Magicks with elves. Faeries are small, not often any taller than four feet, with unnaturally-coloured hair and eyes, and one of three types of wings- Clearwing Faeries have clear, gossamer wings with faint colours, resembling either dragonflies, bees and wasps; Drywing Faeries have scaly, dust-covered moth-like wings; and Brightwing Faeries have bright coloured, and often rather large, butterfly-like wings.
Clearwing Faeries additionally have retractable venomous stingers on their wrists, and an affinity for hive insects, the ability to control them telepathically, taking over the hiveminds of swarming bugs for their own benefits. Drywing Faeries are able to blend into their environments with uncanny perfection, simply disappearing into the surroundings, invisible unless being purposefully looked for. And Brightwing Faeries are able to reflect light through or against their wings to create dazzling illusions to disorient or distract threats.
Faeries are extremely flighty and skittish beings, always looking for new ways to defend, or flee from threats. Their specialized Magicks are to help in the defence of their homes, and they are more likely to run than fight should their homes become threatened.
Harpies are only found in Gal'ruk, in the mountains and along coasts. They are large, with humanoid faces and torso, and massive, feathered wings in place of arms. Long, broad tails and taloned bird-like feet. Their feathers extend across their backs, shoulders and around their hips, the only skin on their bodies being their faces, chests and stomachs.
They are powerful fliers, swift, unrelenting predators. If not for their Magicks, they'd be classed as beastfolk instead. Harpy Magick gives them command over the wind and sky, commanding storms to rage and fog to mask their hunts. They are half-feral beasts, easily angered by trespassers, and fiercely protective of their own.
Harpies replenish their own Magicks by feasting on flesh and blood of other magical beings. They are relentless hunters, flying through narrow mountain passages with the swiftness of falcons and precision of a hawk, chasing down magical beasts until they can catch up and tear them apart. They are not above doing the same thing to other Magi, or even Magick using humans.
And last are Demons, the most powerful of the Magi. Their Magicks are as varied as a witch or a warlock's, and more powerful. Without the need for material components or complex rituals, Demons are able to cause unmatched amounts of chaos and destruction. Violent, unpredictable and sadistic by nature, their Magicks feed off of the Soul of a magical being or creature, usually of the demon itself.
Demons slowly lose their minds, humanity and self-preservation with every spell they cast, draining and destroying their own souls little by little. It is an excruciatingly painful and slow death for any demon who overuses their power and often drives them far over the brink of madness.
Travis is able to keep his own soul relatively untouched thanks to his warlock heritage and training from his mother. Using the souls of magical and non-magical animals and creatures, or using the latent Magick in certain plants and creatures in the same way witches and warlocks do. The Demon Warlock is also able to do this, though choose to feed off souls more than simple ingredients.
oh boy this was way longer than I was prepared for. Hope nobody minds the essay
anyway, here's a list of all the (currently established) Magi characters from Daybreak (this list may change in future):
Dante + Gene, half-siren (aquatic) on their father's side. Their father was named Nathaniel, and is deceased.
Castor the "Chicken Shaman" - aerial siren, looks like a common loon
Zoey - Wood Elf
Malachi - vampire, technically a Reborn, was a Magicks user before being turned
Lucinda, Hailey, Hyria, Ivan, Caspian(oc) - witches/warlocks, Lucinda is half witch on her mother's side. Sasha and Ivy are both part witch as well, though a couple generations removed from the actual Magi in their bloodlines
Travis - half human, quarter warlock, quarter demon, one of the most powerful magi to exist in recorded history
Janus - demon, very well-acquainted with his Magick, has been missing for a while, possibly deceased
Bonus information as well, for anyone whose read this far:
There is an extinct race of Magi known as Changelings, once prevalent on Ru'aun and extremely dangerous to the people. Changelings were wiped out over the course of a few years after the Divine War ended, having exclusively sided with The Empty during the War itself.
Changelings survived in the Nether, deep in an unknown and hostile biome they were easily able to adapt to. In modern times, they're known only as the Distorted, or Hollowed Ones, able to perfectly replicate any humanoid being they've seen before. They exist as hollow, shadowy figures lurking between trees and caves, perpetually starving and hunting down anything that breathes.

Daybreak Lore
The Enki Warrior Tribe is called the Warriors of the Chain, or simply the Chained Warriors, named after Enki's silver chains and trained in his fast-and-loose fighting style. The Keeper was known (or suspected) to fight with enchanted silver chains with either spearheads or bludgeons on the ends. The Chained Warriors honours their patron Divine by training themselves in the same fighting style, or at least as close a replication as they can get.
The actual village the Warriors reside in is called Blizzard's Rest, and only about a third of the village itself is made up of Warriors. About a fifth of them are actually fully trained.
Legend claims the first Chained Warriors were trained by The Keeper themself, though this isn't confirmed, and would be impossible to verify.
Blizzard's Rest is named for one of the ancient deities whose Relic was never used by the Divine, known only in moderns days as the Bringer of the Blizzard, though her true name was Eira. It is said that the mountains upon which the village is built was the final resting place of Eira, that her Relic remains buried somewhere deep within the twisting labyrinthine caves beneath the mountains.
There's an old legend of Eira and Enki fighting each other over the placement of Blizzard's Rest, solving the conflict by deciding that the shore would be Enki's, and the mountains would stay as Eira's, though this is only word-of-mouth, with no real evidence to back it up as truth. The Chained Warriors do not venture into the mountains because of this, they do not want to risk angering the Goddess.
