Part 6 of The Decisive Victory!

Part 6: Whatever it takes!

“Are you two out of your minds!” Moorhen yelled at Clay and Autumn, as Autumn scattered up to her feet and Clay went into a sitting position

“My Queen, you have to understand, this was started by-” Before Autumn could finish her excuse, Moorhen clenched her talons and shouted out once more

“I DO NOT CARE WHO STARTED IT. AUTUMN, YOU ARE A WOMAN OF HIGH STANDING, AND A FULLY GROWN DRAGON, AND BY ALL MEANS, THE NEXT IN LINE FOR THE THRONE OF THE MUDWINGS. INSTEAD, YOU DECIDE TO ACT AS A DETRIMENT TO OUR PLANS AND FAIL YOUR SIBS, WHICH I MIGHT NOTE IS NOT A FIRST.” Moorhens words echoed at Autumn, who looked like a mix of embarrassed, hurt, and ashamed, with Mire silently going over to her and handing her water, most likely for any potential burns in her throat.

“As for YOU, Dragonet.” Moorhen spoke, as she looked down on Clay, and simply gestured towards a part away from the others, with Clay understanding clearly, as he slowly began to walk behind her. As he did, he and Autumn locked eyes, as she gave him her deepest scowl, and he gave her the best he could muster of a snarl.

“Dragonet!” Moorhen called out, and Clay rushed to her.

Before Clay could try to explain himself, Moorhen simply positioned herself closer towards him, and asked him a simple question

“Do you want this war to end?”

Naturally, Clays answer was yes

“Then why do you act like a reckless fool?”

Clay tried to defend himself, pointing out how Autumn was who escalated it, but it was clear Moorhen could care less for details..

“Dragonet, you forget your purpose! You are not here to act out! You are not here to speak out! You are here to announce Burn as your choice and put an end to this stupid war!”

“You have to understand-”

“HOW MUCH CLEARER CAN I BE THAT I DO NOT CARE? I ONLY CARE TO STOP MY PEOPLE FROM DYING IN A WAR BETWEEN OVERGROWN CHILDREN. YOU GREW UP IN A CAVE, SO PERHAPS YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND JUST HOW MANY HAVE DIED, NOR DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT NOT ONLY AM I YOUR QUEEN, BUT I HOLD YOUR FRIENDS IN A BALANCE-” Moorhen realized what she had said, and began to try and calm herself, before speaking once more

“I’m sorry, I got over emotional there…Dragonet, you must understand, and I’m sure you do, really, in war, you must compromise yourself first and foremost. You must do things you hate, and lose things you love…you must break down what was once there, so that you can continue to build anew…Please, I ask you, not as your queen, but as one who has suffered 18 long years of bloodshed. Try as much as you can to at least make acquaintance with them, and particularly to love Breccia, for the sake of everyone…including your fellow dragonets of destiny.” Moorhen finished her ramble, as Clay began to focus on those final words,

He remembered when Moorhen demolished Tsunami and made him make this deal, and he realized as many times as he forgets it, the fact remains that compared to Moorhen, he is powerless to protect his friends, and so, he mist do everything he can to keep them safe…even if he may despise it all…

“…You’re right, I apologize.” Clay defeatedly said

“It’s not me you should apologize towards necessarily…though, knowing Autumn, I doubt she would be appreciative of such. Just…give them all a final good night for now or something, this has been a long day…” Moorhen responded, as the two went back towards Autumn and her sibs.

Cocoa was the first to greet Clay, asking him if everything was alright, with him responding he and Moorhen simply had a talk, and though she could tell it was more than that, Cocoa decided not to press it.

Breccia then rushed up to Clay, grabbing onto him as she began to whine

“Oh Clay! You foolish handsome dragon! What made you be so rude to my bigwings, and then to go as far as to fight her, oh, if it was not so attractive I would be so hurt! If this is what I am to expect of my Fiance, then I clearly have much to fix upon, oh but we can work that all out~” Breccia kept going, only for Clay to subtly pull himself off

“Yeah yeah, sure we will.” Clay said passively, as he went to check on “Mud” as they let themself get back up.

“You okay? You got launched there- Oh no, you’re bleeding!” Clay said, noticing a small head wound upon Muds head from where Mire fired, as he quickly got a napkin to help clean it up.

“I’m fine, he missed after all-”

“I did not “miss” I let you live to avoid unnecessary distress later on, if I wished, I could’ve fired one straight into your eye.” Mire interrupted her, as he cleaned up alongside Creek.

“Oh, be easy on them brother. After all, that handsome little guy and his cute bodyguard just had quite the time thanks to our Bigwings.” Creek spoke to him, seeming to eye Glorys small wound with a thirst in her eyes.

“Hm, that they did.” Mire spoke, as he turned towards Clay, “Do not get any idea of being anywhere close to a match for Autumn, she simply wanted to draw things out.”

“Yeah, I could tell…um, Autumn, sorry for the fire to the throat.” Clay said, though he knew she wouldn’t be receptive towards it, and he knew she deserved it completely, he did feel a little bad.

Autumn however simply glared at him, before taking another drink of cold water, and marched over at Clay.

“This isn’t over, boy.” Autumn uttered, with Clay shocked at how her voice had already recovered, as had any of her injuries, meanwhile he still felt sore, and he could tell Glory herself was bruised badly as well, and she only had a small jab thrown at her.

“That’s some pretty bad injuries you got there, if ya want, I can patch you two up later!” Obsidian volunteered as she checked on Clay

“You know medical stuff?” Clay asked?

“Oh, I know all kinds of things! I can try showing them off to you later! Particularly at the Mudwing library, oh, even if you don’t like learning, you’ll LOVE that place!” Obsidian began to ramble about the library, and of all the things she learned from it

as she did Clay began to contemplate his situation, and couldn’t help but feel worse and worse about it, feeling as though things became even more suffocating than ever before, and just like he always did, he made things worse, and now was in a worse position than ever before…but, if it meant his friends were safe, he’ll do whatever it takes for them.

“So what do ya say! Wanna check out the library tomorrow? Oh! Breccia should come to, you two can have a date out of it! Your small guard gal can come to!”

“….Sure, the Library could be fun.” Clay said, as Mud momentarily looked at him with surprise, but before she could say anything, Queen Moorhen suddenly loomed over her.

“What are you doing here.” Moorhen asked with a mix of calm and slight anger.

“I- I’m a mudwing, sent by one of your brothers to guard Clay!”

“Oh really now?” Moorhen said, peering at her, as Glory became overcome with fear and felt as though she was being seen right through.

“She wasn’t fed much from what she said! So she looks very off!” Clay said, trying to buy her possible excuses, though it seemed clear Moorhen didn’t believe any of it.

“….For now, I’ll let this pass. One of my brothers is in for an earful however.” Moorhen spoke, as she prepared to leave, “I shall see you all in the morning then, let the moons guide you to a soft rest.” Moorhen said as she went towards her royal palace, with Cocoa, Autumn, Mire, Creek, Obsidian, and Breccia all leaving soon after, leaving only Clay and “Mud”

Clay tried to ask Mud questions, only for Mud to shit them off, before saying they were going off to rest for the night.

“Oh really? Well…I guess I will as well, I plan to rest in this one part with a nice ledge at its end, where the moon comes in just right, perfect for anyone with a fear of the dark, really.”

“…I’ll keep that in mind.”

“Good.” Clay said to her, giving her one last smile as he flew off, staying up til he heard a landing sound on the ledge.

Good, she came here…Maybe tomorrow I can work an excuse for her to leave without getting interrogated. She might have left us, but, she showed up again, I want to think it was for me…even if only a little…Just make sure she’s safe Clay, make sure they’re all safe, do something right for once, and make sure everyone will be alright, and that you end this war, whatever it takes…

and with those final thoughts, Clay swept himself into the corridors of rest, determined to keep his friends safe…even at the cost of himself, even if he must keep himself here, it all doesn’t matter as long as the others will be fine…they’re all gonna be fine without him, right? Bah, of course they will…

Here’s that Protector oc I wanted to tell you about!(art by @faymaker, also set in her story called Protector)

His real name is Ao Fan, but he goes by Langzi!

To summarize, he’s the youngest son of Ao Guang, The Dragon King of The East, and he was born with an extremely scrawny and non draconic body, which made Ao Guang think him weak, and decided to attempt to toss his shameful newborn into an underwater volcano

Ao Fan however showed a power that shocked and terrified his father, as his scream alone not only destroyed the entire volcano, but burst open the sea, causing massive tsunamis and storms all across eastern china/western Japan, which were so powerful it required Amaterasu herself to disperse them.

Because of this, he then had the nickname “Pò hǎi zhě” which loosely means sea breaker(it’s likely not fully accurate) and Ao Guang decided to then hide him away, making him believe he is but a simple fish within his kingdom.

Growing up however, the boy was very ambitious, and when he was 10 years old, decided he would ascend the dragons gate(for context, in mythology the dragons gate is a waterfall that fish attempt to leap over to become dragons) and when Ao Guang heard of this, he immediately rushed to try and stop him, knowing he would become even more powerful than before if he gained this.

In the end however, he failed to stop him, and The Sea Breaker Ao Fan reached one of his newest of heights, and with then, Ao Fan would learn of his real background, and would be under his father’s tutelage for about a year

During this time, he read the book Water Margin, which became a favorite of his, with the character Yan Qing in particular being a favorite

When a year came however, Ao Fan ended up “betraying” his family after stopping his older brother Ao Jia from killing a mans family for not paying his debts.

Soon after, Ao Fan was put on trial, and had been executed if not for Ao Jia advocating instead for a trial by combat instead, where if he won, he would be allowed to live, if not however, he would be fed to the fishes

The match was greatly rigged in Ao Jias favor, and he perhaps would had won if Ao Fan had not realized he was serious in wishing him to die, leading him to demolish his brother and nearly kill him

With this victory however, Ao Jan was disgusted fully of his family, and demanded his belongings, a large sum of money, and to instead be called by a new name, that name being based off of one of Yan Qings disguises, Langzi

That’s just the first part of his story though(and moreso a basic summary)! And I’ll be sure to tell more later!

I love his design and backstory !!! Although Greek Mythology is what I’m mainly focused in I’ve always been a sucker for Chinese mythology too !! Some of my non Greek mythology ocs are actually based on Yin and Yang :D

Okay so I feel like writing backstory for characters that show up for literally one second soooo here’s a short little thing about what it was like when Sarpedon got his wings cut off! (I imagine he was someone younger when this happened, maybe 20s-30s?)

[Sarpedon runs through the bloody battlefield, spear in hand. All of a sudden, an arrow cuts through both of his wings from a Greek solider] “GRAH!” He yells, his body shaking. He swiftly takes his spear and throws it at the Greek, it plunging into their chest as he slowly begins to limp back to the Trojan palace. “Glaucus! Glaucus- get a medic, I’m injured like hell.” Sarpedon cries out, and Glaucus quickly nods and runs to the nearest healer.

[A healer and Prince Hector (due to Sarpedon being a rare demigod with wings, Hector wants to make sure he stays in well condition) himself come checks out the injury.] The healer spreads out one of his wings, looking at the clean puncture through the gleaming brown feathers. “So? Can it be healed like the other ones I’ve gotten?” Sarpedon asks. The healer slightly frowns. “I don’t know, it’s a clean wound. Plus the arrow hit close to your muscles. I’m sure I can figure something out though.” Suddenly the healers eyes widen. A pang of nervousness bolts through Sarpedon. “What? What is it?” A shiver runs through Sarpedon as the healers fingers lightly brush over the feathers near the wounded spot. “Sarpedon, that arrow was poisoned. This could spread through your body quickly- I have to do something quick.” Sarpedons eyes widen and his wings go limp. He feels Prince Hector put a hand on his shoulder and he sees a somberful look in the Prince’s eyes. “Sarpedon, I know you value your wings dearly, but,” a sigh escapes Hector. “We might need to cut them off.” “WHAT?!” Sarpedon caws out, his wings flaring in shock before getting a slight smack from the healer and putting them back down. “It’s for the best! I don’t want to lose one of my best warriors due to some poison! Plus, it’ll give you the opportunity to wear chestplates. It’s really for the best Sarpedon.” Hector softly spoke. “But these are a part of me! These are what make me half god! I can’t just cut them off?!” Prince Hector sighed again, and just watched as the healer turned Sarpedon on his back, sharpening a axe specifically used for amputations. “That’s not entirely true! You’ll still have your strength! And it’s not like they’ll be entirely off, just.. shorted.” Sarpedon tries to squirm out of this, but he feels his hands pinned down as the healers looms over him with the axe. “..Glaucus..?” His cousin, his best friend is going along with this hellish plan. “It’s for the best cousin. Prince Hector is right about what he said.” Sarpedons breath quickens as he realizes what’s going to happen. “Here, I’ll do a countdown, how about that?” Princes Hectors voice breaks through, his tone comforting yet not enough to break the tidal wave of fear that washes over Sarpedon.

“Five,” What will the Greeks think of me..? “Four,” What will the Trojans think of me..? “Three,” What will Zeus think of me..? “Two,” Cutting off the one part that connects me to him..? “One.” I’m sorry, father.

here’s the 5th part of an info dump on my wof au story, The Decisive Victory!

Part 5: Dinner and a Show

Breccia had dragged Clay and his “bodyguard” to multiple places now, including a place to get your talons done, another to get your scales shined, and an area to rest with mud baths, which was also the only place he’d ever seen Breccia take her coat off. He also had to admit it was hilarious seeing “Mud” be covered in it, especially with how icky she acted when it covered her scales.

“I have to say Mud, I wouldn’t expect a mudwing to be so grossed by mud…particularly with your namesake.”

“Well, we didn’t have much mud where I grew up, so I guess I’m just unfamiliar to it.”

“…A mudwing, unfamiliar to…mud?…You live in a place known as the mud kingdom- your name is literally mud! Also, my fiance here didn’t grow up in the mud kingdom either!” Breccia shouted, as she then points at Clay rolling around in mud. “So what’s your excuse hm? Unless of course you’re not-” before Breccia could continue, Clay grabbed a piece of mud and tossed it at Muds face, shocking her, but getting a chuckle out of Breccia

“Phew, she almost caught on there.” Clay thought, before tossing more mud at his friend, “Well, clearly we gotta get her used to this right?” Clay excused, though he did have to admit subconsciously it did feel nice to get back at Glory for what had previously happened. Breccia joined him and tossed more at Mud, who began to become annoyed

“Oh come on now, “Mud” my beloved and I are simply trying to enjoy ourselves!” Breccia stated, as she tried to nudge herself towards Clay, who shuffled himself away from her. “…hmph, I think it’s about time we started heading back, tidy yourself up, I don’t need you accidentally ruining my favorite coat.”

As the 3 exited the mud baths, Breccia forced on Clays hat and poncho before grabbing him by the arm and rushing toward the palace, with Mud struggling to keep up behind the two.

As they turned a corner however, Clay saw a face he had REALLY hoped he wouldn’t see now now that “Mud” had become a factor

It was one of Queen Moorhens brothers, seeming to be on his way from something, even if not urgently.

“Oh Uncle! You’re just one of the people I wanted to see! You see that so called Mudwing over there?” Breccia asked, pointing at Mud, who suddenly began to freeze up, as she realized her game might be up quicker than expected. “She claims to be a mudwing guard named Mud! That was sent as a guard for my fiance Clay! Surely you can explain how-”

“Oh yes, Mud! Good to see you here earlier than expected my small friend! A reliable guard, that Mud.” Moorhens Brother claimed, as Clay urgently nodded his head, realizing the man was playing along with Glorys lie, and helping build off it.

“B-but."

“No buts! You three head to the palace now! Keep guarding Clay now Mud! Don’t want anything bad to happen!” Moorhens brother exclaimed, before leaving, as Breccia was left stunned

“I…but…huh???…let’s just go inside, dinner will probably be ready in an hour.” Breccia said, completely bewildered by the situation, as she entered with Clay and Mud behind her, with Cocoa near the entrance to greet them

“Huh, you’re back earlier than I thought, I thought you’d keep up a bit of a joy flight longer…who’s chicken legs.” Cocoa asked, pointing at Mud

“That is…ugh, “Mud” apparently a certain stupid uncle decided to give Clay a guard! I don’t get it really! He’s more than safe with even just me! And stick over here probably couldn’t guard an ant!” Breccia explained, feeling even more annoyed

“Glad to see you have such confidence in me.” Mud said sarcastically

“I’m sure they have their benefits! But I do doubt they’re really needed, or should be here.” Clay said, hoping Glory would take the hint.

“Oh Clay! I knew you’d see my side here! We’re already developing into a model couple!” Breccia said, as she held Clay by his neck into her upper chest/lower neck area, as he lightly struggled out.

“Um…gotta keep the hat steady.” Clay excused, as Cocoa then got closer and gave a light nod as she looked at his hat and poncho

“Not half bad honestly… the white and black weirdly goes with your wings well.” Cocoa told Clay

“It does, doesn’t it! I picked it for him myself! I mean, OBVIOUSLY he couldn’t pick something out well, so I did so myself!” Breccia interrupted

“Hm, course ya did.“

“Now then! Forgive my exit, but I shall be trying on all new kinds of accessories! Bye bye!” Breccia said, as she went off to her personal area, as Clay began to think he can finally rest for a bit

that was quickly dashed as Obsidian slid in

“Clay! Clay! I gotta show you something! Please!” Obsidian begged, running around Clay in a circle, not even paying attention to his thin bodied bodyguard, even accidentally knocking her over when she did so, before standing in one place and lightly hopping up and down

“Oh, sure Obsidian! Just lead the way.” Clay answered, as Obsidian lead him towards part of her lab, with Mud trying to get up and follow them, but being forced to wait just outside

inside meanwhile, Obsidian showed Clay a large ant farm of hers, having an entire colony inside as she then began to go in detail about the structure of the ant colony and how she had crafted it over time, with Clay being surprisingly interested in it as he also admired the little creatures, which were far smaller than even the scavengers he had seen before.

“Is this something you study?”

“Oh! I study all kinds of things! Autumn doesn’t want me, Breccia, and Cocoa in the battlefield, so we end up with a lot of free time! I kind of just study anything! I love learning about new stuff!”

“Oh yeah!….oh yeah, even dragons.”

“Yep! Especially dragons actually! The inner workings of us all is fascinating, seriously! Realistically, we all came from a common ancestor, yet look at how much we’ve all diverged from each other! Isn’t it just amazing? Bonus, I also get to help my tribe in the war by giving them some info about dragons inner workings!”

“I guess so, but doesn’t it ever…disturb you? Studying a corpse? Of someone that was killed?”

“Why would it?”

“…never mind.”

“Oh! Something else I gotta show you one day is the best thing in the mud kingdom! The Royal Library! You’ll be in complete awe when you see it, seriously!”

“Oh, I’m sure I will.” Clay said to her, as she then continued on various rambles before being interrupted by Creek opening the door.

“Hey you two, dinners ready.” Creek told them, as she then gave Clay a light boop on the snout, telling him she made sure to make it special, likely in an attempt to be sweet, though Clay just felt creeped out.

as they headed towards the dining area, Clay saw the large table opposite to the one the Icewing was on

At the table were the rest of the sibs, with Autumn at the of one side and the other having Breccia slightly scooted to the side, making Clay assume she intended for them to sit next to one another.

Clay tried to take a different seat, but was quickly dragged by his arm to sit by Breccia, who called him silly for seemingly not understanding her intent.

“Now then, I hope y’all enjoy what I’ve prepared for you tonight. I made sure to put some extra work in for our Great Bigwings and our new Handsome Little Man~” Creek spoke, as she sat herself down to enjoy with them all, as they all began to dig in.

Except for Clay however, who tried to find where Glory was at the moment, wondering if she was invisible, in her “mud” disguise, or perhaps something else. He would have kept looking if not for a pouty and expectant Breccia, she seemed to be holding half a fish in her mouth and gesturing towards it, which Clay decided to play off as though he thought she was telling him to start eating, leaving her hanging as he began to eat.

After eating a cows worth, Clay seemed to be done, and prepared to rest back.

“…Aren’t you going to eat more?” Creek asked

“Hm? Oh, I already ate a lot, thank you though, Creek.” Clay answered

“I only saw you eat about half a cow, my sister worked hard on this y’know, you seriously just gonna have a snack?” Autumn said with a slight anger in her tone

“No, not at all! I just ate what I normally would be filled on before I came here.”

“….how much exactly did you eat before you came here? growing up, I mean.” Cocoa asked

“Oh, um, a good amount I thought. When I was in the cave me and the others would be fed mainly chicken, some fish, and on bigger occasions cow like this.” Clay explained, as the sibs all looked at him with a mix of pity and slight shock, only for Autumn to break the silence with laughter

“HA! What kinda people raised you? What, did they think a Bigwings had a small appetite? HahahaHAAAAA, oh man, I almost feel bad laughing at that! To think, not even people away from the war can get a good common meal!…let me put it straight for ya, we Mudwings need a LOT for sustenance, it’s how we get nutrients to get these bad girl.” Autumn explained while momentarily flexing one of her arms, “seems cause you’re a bigwings you’re more naturally bulky, but reality is you should be the size of at least my favorite brother. So hey, do us all a solid, and indulge yourself, alright? Do it, before I shove an elephant down your throat myself.”

Clay didn’t like the visual of that, and began eating more, but as he did, Obsidian poked him to get his attention.

“Say, I heard earlier…you grew up in a cave?! I wanna hear more about that!” Obsidian said, wanting Clay to tell her his life story

“Hm, I think this may be interesting to hear actually. It’s important for us to know about who you are after all.” Mire concurred with Obsidian’s previous ask.

“Huh…alright.” Clay said, as he noticed Autumn roll her eyes and groan at the idea of listening to his life story

“Growing up, we didn’t have much to fly around, I actually didn’t have a full on flight til recently, but I’ll get into that later. A big part of my growing years was preparing for what might await us outside of it, with my skywing guardian, Kestrel, often focusing on me when it came to combat, because she thought I was a monster that tried to kill the others when we were born.”

“So she’s the halfwit who gave you that moronic thought.” Mire noted

“Yeah, but the other guardians didn’t help, particularly the sandwing Dune, though our Seawing one was mostly inoffensive, I guess…never did much for us though. Anyway-”

“There was no Mudwing present I presume?” Cocoa asked

“No, she died saving my egg and getting it there. She was my aunt, actually.”

“Oh yeah! Like Moorhens sister is ours!” Obsidian stated

“Um, yeah. Anyhow, in combat training, Kestrel would usually have me face against her, and she usually would win, and every time I would end up at least pretty injured, but I don’t have to get into the details on me being an ineffective fighter.” Clay said, as Cocoa said something about how it seems more like Kestrel was a crappy teacher, but he kept continuing without responding, “I wasn’t the only one who got hurt by Kestrel though, we all did, though I’d say Glory got some of the worst of it…”

“Who’s Glory?” Breccia suddenly butted in, seeming to not have been paying attention to anything else Clay said

“She was one of the Dragonets of Destiny with us, though she was a rainwing rather than a skywing like wanted.”

“How can she be a rainwing if the prophecy specifically asks for a wings of sky?” Mire asked

“Rain comes from the sky.” Creek said

“Yeah but rain is short for rainforest in this regard.”

“Eh, true.”

“It doesn’t matter, Glory was one of us, and Kestrel hated it. I tried my best to protect her and the others when I could, but I wasn’t always enough. I did have someone else I could occasionally rely on though, Tsunami. She’d try to watch my back when she could, especially as we got older.” Clay kept going, with Mire seeming to scowl when he heard the name.

“Tell us more about the cave though! OH! And how you guys got out! What you did after that too!” Obsidian kept asking, with Clay feeling slightly overwhelmed by her pestering to learn more about him, but obliging anyway.

“Well, it was a cave…not a particularly big one relative to 3 dragons and 5 dragonets, but it did the job I guess. There was a small river though that lead out of the mountain, that’s part of how we got out actually! Because they planned to kill Glory, so we had to get out as soon as possible. When I first got out though, I ended up encountering Queen Scarlet, who followed a smoke signal the others made to help me find them after, at that point she then killed Dune, and had us all captured, Webs ran off though…”

“what a coward!” Obsidian said

“Eh, what else are you gonna expect out of a seawing? If he couldn’t stand up for them before what chance was he gonna grow a spine now?” Mire commented

“Yeah, none of us exactly expected much else outta him… Now then, Scarlets arena.” Clay began, as Autumm seemed to start paying attention when she heard it.

“Um, just checking, how familiar are you with the arena structure? I don’t wanna waste time.” Clay asked

“Eh, we’ve been to one or two on occasion, Creeks been to 3 actually.” Mire told Clay

“Alright, phew. Well, it was about what you’d expect out of it, me, Tsunami, and the Nightwing Dragonet Starflight all fought, but the sandwing dragonet Sunny got put in a cage to be stuffed later, and Glory got put on display like artwork. We actually thought she was asleep ridiculously enough, but she proved us wrong after she hit Scarlet with venom during my battle with Peril.”

“Oh yeah, I got a report about that, seems she’s gone missing since as well.” Mire said, as Creek and Cocoa nodded, having also heard about it thanks to Mire. Before Clay could properly continue however

“Hold on, you fought Peril?” Autumn asked, Now having her interest fully peaked

“Oh, yeah, she’s actually a really-”

“How far did the fight go? Did you somehow evade her? Or something else?”

“That’s not really important-”

“It’s more than important! tell us what happened!”

“Well, I guess you could say I managed to beat her, mainly because my scales are fire resistant. But-”

“HA! So that weird copper rat really is just all scales! Oh this is just great, that dragons always bothered the crocodile leavings out of me! Unnatural little freak, that thing.”

“Hey! That’s not accurate to Peril at all! She’s actually pretty nice when you get to know-”

“Note to self! Find another blood red egg mudwing and have him put that thing out its misery!” Autumn kept going on as she began to walk off in her fantasy

“Stop that.”

“Ha, I bet people would be thankful to have her rid of honestly! I mean seriously, that freaks existence can finally be rid of. Hm, maybe if I find a rock based knife we can skin her to put her to an actual use other than be the star of a freakshow-”

“SHUT UP.”

Immediately, Clay realized he made his worst mistake here, and possibly his last one too, as Autumn stopped in her tracks and looked directly at him with a horrific glare he only ever seen with Kestrel on her bad days.

“What did you just say to me, you small little dog?” Autumn asked, as she rapidly approached Clay and then grabbed and tossed him above the table, all the way across it, and into the upper middle area.

“Breccia, pardon me while I show your little man his place.” Autumn casually said, as Breccia bemoaned, having not been paying attention until Autumn suddenly tossed her fiancé like a ball.

“Well, ya wanna tell me to SHUT UP, EH? HOW ABOUT I SHUT YOUR DISRESPECTFUL MOUTH MYSELF!” Autumn yelled as she tackled Clay, before grabbing and tossing him again, as she rushed him once more, this time backhanding him with her talons, and attempting to pounce upon him

Before she could do that however, Clay launched himself and managed to elbow her far back to the shock of everyone, Clay included. Autumn however quickly recovered, and seemingly rushed at him once more, only for it to be a feint attack, as she managed to bait Clay and then smack him in the chest with her wing. Clay however managed to grip onto her wing, and proceeded to pull her toward him, only for her to manage a counter and headbutt him down, as she then jumped down on his chest, piercing her wings down next to him as a form of intimidation.

“Ey, I’ll admit, you gave me a run for a second there! But trust me, this wasn’t a real match. Now then, little guy, ya know how all the cool gals like scars? How about we give you one right here on your snout!” Autumn said to him with an excitement in her tone, only for it to stop as she suddenly felt a spear near the edge of her throat, and looked down to see Clays bodyguard, present and spear in hand, ready to strike.

“I’d back off if I were you, blades in the neck aren’t exactly a good combination.” Mud told Autumn, hoping to make her back away.

Instead, she laughed.

“Oh that’s a good one! scale and bones here is threatening me eh? Well, if you’re gonna do that,” Autumn said as she suddenly grabbed and repositioned Glorys spear. “At least get the vital right!” Autumn laughed, as she then hit Mud with the bunt of the spear, launching her through the room in the process. As Mud prepared to get up, a crossbow bolt was shot just above her head, nearly hitting her in the process.

“Never, ever, even think of harming my Bigwings again.” Mire scolded her, with a large crossbow in hand, with Glory, ah, sorry, “Mud” surprised at the invention

“Ha, fun times. Now then, where were we?-” Before Autumn could finish, Clay BLASTED her in the mouth with fire breath, causing her to be stunned and cough heavily, only to then be headbutted by Clay as he then managed to toss her off him, and while she was in the air, manage to roll onto his feet and SLAM her further into the air, before landing and swatting her in the face with his tail, knocking her straight into a wall, and making a large crater in it.

Autumn quickly got back up, hacking up some blood from Clay knocking her in the face, and looking EXTREMELY angry about it, as she looked at the bruised Clay and prepared to charge at him

only to be grabbed by her wings, and tossed to the side, as both her AND Clay were overcome with fear.

Queen Moorhen had arrived, and she was NOT happy.

While I imagined you could perhaps find ways to do that ritual without going to Altor, being a student at Altor Academy also gives you numerous benefits

Besides resources, access to great education, etc, they have a unique program where after assessing your actions during your time at the school, you can gain new godly titles

For example, Stella was born to a goddess of the night and a god of darkness. Through her time at Altor, she earned the title of Goddess of Friendship, and Goddess of Mercy, for her great number of deep friendships and bonds formed, and her persistent compassion and mercy given to her enemies

Okay so I’m going to give you as in depth a character summary as possible about the main character of my best friends series, Protector!

Name: Stella Erebus Busanna

She’s the daughter of Nyx and Erebus! It’s difficult to tell due to the lack of color for this but her hair is similar to the starry night painting by Vincent Van Gogh!

Now for some character details

Growing up Stella was kind of pampered, having loving parents and a closely knit family, never knowing much about the outside world, and never felt the need to as well! Alongside her family, she also had a teacher who would often take care of her, named Azazel, with her coming to see him like family as well

When Stella was 8 years old on her birthday, her parents were taken by what I can only described as a soulless sin against creation itself, during which Stella also was given a horrific scar after trying and failing to fight back, with this monster carving a star shape into her head all the while mockingly singing “Happy Birthday.” During this she also lost her close teacher Azazel, the beast crushing his heart in front of her.

That however was not Azazels end, as he signed a contract for him and Stella so that he shall act as her protector and almost like an extension of herself in many ways

After her parents were taken, Stella was passively raised by some of her siblings, but mainly by Azazel taking care of her, and becoming like a second father to her

She also grew up heavily loving more fantastical media, with them shaping her whimsical nature and her constant optimism, with this optimism being reflected in her goal to one day find and save her parents, and to be like the heroes she saw on TV and in her books

Stella couldn’t quite do much yet however, as she was still a child at this time, and instead would have to continue her childhood, including being taught by her family and Azazel, who luckily were smart people, allowing Stella to still have a solid education because of it.

For 6 years, the only people Stella really knew where her family and Azazel, though she would many tomes go to the surface to buy herself snacks, she rarely if ever was able to connect with others…you can only imagine how lonely that truly makes someone

Her dreams would come to be realized when she was about 14 years old however! With her being scouted by the lovely Goddess Hestia, who offered her enrollment in Altor Academy, a highly respected school where when one graduates, they become a God. Stella eagerly accepted, only realizing shortly afterwards just what agreement she made…AND BEING EXCITED FOR IT.

Finally she could truly see the outside world! Finally she could meet other people! Finally she can…have a chance to find her parents.

When she would get to Altor she would meet all kinds of people! People from all around the globe from every mythology you can think of! To out a cherry on top of it all, she was even made team leader of her group, that she’d go on to name Team Virago!

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get into some of her friends(and other types) mainly her love interest, rival, and teammates!

that she meets in Altor Academy! Starting with possibly the most important one, The Son of Apollo, Solaris Kitrinos!

(Yes, he’s an underaged smoker, there’s a whole backstory to it trust me)

Solaris is our stories deuteragonist! And is Stellas rival, friend, and later, boyfriend!

When Stella and Solaris first met, they DESPISED each other. Solaris saw Stella as nothing but a high class piss ant trying to act like hero, while Stella saw him as a thief who takes from whoever he wants.

Due to both of these people being ever so slightly crazy, this escalated horrifyingly fast, but luckily was calmed down by a character I’ll get into soon after.

The two would often be forced to work together after this as well, with their two teams being partner groups that would do missions together, and over time the two would develop a truce between one another, and overall respect and friendship, soon followed by a mutual crush between each other, which later blossomed into full on romance

I could keep going, but you’d be here all day if I went into every detail about everyone-

A quick fact about him, his best friend is his cousin Malakai Hermalao, son of Hermes and Hecate The Mother(there’s a whole thing with it I promise I or my friend can elaborate if ya wanna know)

Next up, since I mentioned her before. The Daughter of Zeus and Hera, Elizabeth Vermillianos!

She is Stellas “Rival” but in reality she’s more like her role model, everything Stella wants to be and more! At first Stella expected Elizabeth to be hiding something, but quickly realized she’s as genuine a paragon as she puts on, and not just doing an act for others to appear better.

Elizabeth also helped Stella be more comfortable in wearing more “feminine” colors, like pink! With Stella having once acted like she was against the color due to some of the negative stereotypes behind it, Elizabeth soon helped her realize she can easily embrace that part of herself!

Overall, Elizabeth is someone Stella greatly looks up to, and looks up to throughout the entire story!

An interesting fact for her, she uses 3 main weapons! Thunderbolts(separate from her fathers I imagined), a chain whop, and a buster sword!

Next up, Stellas teammates! Starting in order of when I believe she meets them

First up, The Daughter of Huracan, Agua Ribeiro!

These two were fast friends, in part due to them both being very kind and overall outgoing people. Agua acts as the team healer and backfoot of the group(in the literal sense, she full on refuses to use her hands for combat)

She’s a very compassionate person who hates seeing others sad, in part because seeing others happy makes her happy in the process, so she does whatever she can to make others feel happy!

An interesting fact for her, she’s completely fire proof! No kind of fire has any effect on her!

Next up, the daughter of Agni and Svaha two normal people! The totally wasn’t adopted Aiden Yadav!

This gal has a fiery personality whose explosiveness is matched only by her airheaded nature and inability to realize she very visibly isn’t the kid of an irish immigrant! She’s the big attacker of her team and does that role VERY well!

Despite her more fiery, she’s actually pretty nice to be around, and when ya get to know her is a very good friend!

Unless you’re Thana Mikka, then you two are probably like each other’s least favorite sister-

Interesting fact for her! She frequented multiple dojos growing up trying to get stronger, and aside from very very very few, was near unmatched even by her teachers

speaking of Thana Mikka!

The Daughter of Izanami, Thana Mikka

I almost accidentally pressed X at this moment and had a heart attack, luckily I didn’t!

Anyhow, Thana is one of Stellas closest friends! She’s initially very aloof and seemingly unemotional(trust me, there’s lore behind that(and the eye)). She’s actually quite witty when ya get to know her, even if she often accompanies herself with self doubt, she will always do her best to assist her friends so that she never loses them.

An interesting fact, 2 for her, since I know damn well Blaze’ll kill me otherwise!

She used to know a small red demon boy when she was much younger, and often still thinks about him fondly(why am I being coy about this? it adds flair damn it, that’s why!)

She uses a scythe as her main weapon! Not only that however, she is also able to SEE out of the scythe!

And finally, Stellas best friend, Yokka

They’re someone who initially DESPISES the divine(tbh, who wouldn’t?) and was in a state of constant annoyance and anger when they joined Team Virago initially. However, Stella chipped away at that demeanor over time, and helped them become a more whole person in the process, overcoming their hate and helping them feel a more complete love for life as a whole, helping them also learn to truly befriend others and enjoy life, instead of living as though everything might end your life, and that you must constantly be on alert.

It’s part of this that then causes Yokka to act as a secondary protector(eyyyyyy) for Stella, and help her also develop more nuanced ideas on others, and how to truly see her role as a protector in the process.

an interesting fact about Yokka, they have an extremely long Katana(iirc about 6 feet) that is made of something known as chaos magic, that Yokka can then separate into 2 smaller katanas made of dark and light magic respectively

they also have a laser eye-

Although I have a small question. Shouldn’t Stella and Elizabeth already be gods? Because both of their parents are gods :p
