"please remain on the line to speak to the next available customer support specialist" i actually am only here to do exactly that. thats what im doing. theres actually no other reason i would be on the customer support line. Also quick question whats the theme of this hold music? cuz every time it switches to a new song the whole vibe changes. Do you guys think that the hold music is so immersive i wont remember that im on the line to speak to the next available customer support specialist? if i didnt want to speak to the next available customer support specialist i wouldnt be remaining on the customer support line. do you think this is keeping me going? reminding me that being on "hold" means im on "hold"? Please remain on the line? i have to. I have to do that. I can't do anything else. lets say i didnt remain on the line to speak to the next available customer support specialist. Dont you think i would realize that i am not speaking to customer support?

ok im gonna sound reaaaal annoying for a bit but i gotta complain abt p3r a bit. i still like and appreciate the game for what it is but man i have some gripes
the music
i'm gonna be fair and say that i do mostly enjoy the soundtrack. there are some bops in there. my real complaint about it is just that it doesn't sound like it belongs to persona 3. it kind of reminds me of the mixes in persona q because it sounds like a blend of the persona 3 and 4 soundtracks. everything sounds like it is playing through synth instruments which just doesn't fit for p3. i remember p3's original soundtrack for the incorporation of brass, guitar, drums, and piano. i won't claim to be a music expert in the slightest here, but the music in p3r just sounds...artificial when compared to the original? that isn't to say that the isn't good. it's just not persona 3.
and the thing is, they HAVE remixed persona 3 tracks while keeping the sound of the original. just look at the reincarnation album! the tracks on there continue to slap to this day! i would have zero complaints if the remixed tracks resembled these, but the fact is, they just don't.
i could get into a separate rant about all of the guitar-based tracks... im BIG on guitar and in p3r its just. so toned down and artificial. i was so underwhelmed by "heartful cry" that i WANTED to cry.
underwhelming cutscenes
i want to specify that the cutscenes are gorgeous in their own right, but i got so disappointed by the cutscene after the "???" fight in episode aigis that i need to rant a bit. the original cutscene was so visceral with the shadow version of minato being disassembled before everyone in the most brutal way. he disappears layer by layer. it's gutwrenching and beautiful. p3r episode aigis does lean into the depressing aspect of everything, but at the cost of replacing cutscenes like this with aigis' reactions. and that isn't necessarily bad; i wouldn't have much of an issue if minato disappeared the same way without it JUST being butterflies. the original scene is also helped by not having the background noise of everyone's reactions. it's quiet and horrific, and i would have preferred keeping it that way.
stylistically, if you're used to p3's original cutscenes and as attached to them as i was, then the new cutscenes are a bit jarring and tough to get used to. i really do miss the artistically abstract cutscenes. they were so compelling and complex, yet dissectable in a way that p3r's aren't.
metis' flanderization
i got my wish for more metis screentime but at what cost...
metis is downright one of my FAVORITE characters of all time, but in p3r, she's almost entirely reduced to her attachment to aigis and knowledge of the abyss. don't get me wrong, her codependency with aigis is so heartbreaking and compelling when you learn more about her, but there should be more to her. there are glimpses of "more" when she expresses desires that aigis once had, wanting to go to school and be a regular person, but her character in the plot relies moreso on clinging to aigis and being a guide. everyone compares her to a kid, and emotionally, i agree that she is one. but she shouldn't be reduced to that either. i hoped that metis' character would be improved by her going through some kind of significant arc, but that just isn't there.
i guess i just have some issues with how her character is handled in general, but yeah. justice for metis.
yukari in episode aigis
I'M VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS ONE. yukari's character in the original wasn't nice and cooperative. she's so toned down in p3r that it's kind of a surprise when she breaks down and chooses to fight in the key segment. and worse is the fact that they incorporated mitsuru to explain away yukari's emotions every time she lashes out. it's like the writers recognized that people didn't understand where yukari was coming from, and instead of catering to the fans of the original, they catered to the people who thought yukari was a bitch because they didn't understand what she was going through. yukari deserves to be a bitch and lash out at her friends!!!! episode aigis really isn't the same without that aspect of her character. her feelings were so valid and real. the original version of episode aigis really showed the different ways that the characters grieved and it didn't "baby" the player by outright stating how the characters were feeling. show don't tell!!
BLEHH okay im sane now. i love p3r but man...sometimes...
