hello! if you are a writeblr, chances are your work is really really cool. there is also a chance that you do not think this and that you insult yourself all the time. which is definitely an Experience but my main point is you made a thing. you are making a thing. you make things. and what more, you put them on the internet. for people to SEE and witness and perhaps even feel a connection to. like idk that's fucking amazing to be able to form a connection with someone like that without ever talking to them thru ur works (whether the connection is "I deeply identify with your character" or "we both think this concept is so cool" smallest connections matter too) you're all amazing

sidney & iah thots
because i am thinking of 'heart of glass' right now & kind of losing my mind about them. werewolf mom & wizard dad.
sidney and iah have a relationship similar to that of k//ate and anth//ony from bridg//erton, in the sense, that it started out that sidney thought that iah came from a place of privilege and she thought he was a stuck up prick. thing was, iah has always had an abundance of responsibilities to uphold and when she realizes this, it kind of makes her grow soft for him.
they both kind of balance each other out, in the sense that he helps her out and she helps him out. the only difference is, when she leaves to study law and he stays to take over his father's business, they don't go after each other; despite both of them having deep feelings for each other, because sidney thought iah should have gone after her, and iah assumed sidney would have told him how she felt if she had feelings for him.
it should also be noted that sidney gets pregnant with their daughter before she leaves to study law, but she does not go back to iah to tell him this. mostly because she does not want him to think she's going back just cause they have a kid together, and also because she just assumes that iah does not want children. but while studying law, she manages to handle pregnancy and studying and eventually parenthood well. however, she's terrified of giving birth so her best friend evie kind of has to stay by her side because the whole time she's scared she's going to pop.
she gives birth to their daughter 'chandra' eventually, and she's a damn good mother. however, she ends up getting attacked by a werewolf and eventually discovers that 'evie' her bestie is a vampire, because evie explains that she's going to become a werewolf a little after her attack. and evie explains to her that iah is a essentially an older wizard. which kind of gives sidney a headache, however, sidney's always been a fan of old stuff and the weird and unknown, so she just thinks it's all very cool, except for her werewolfism. and that's mostly because she's scared of turning her child into a werewolf.
when she goes to iah to see if he can put a protection spell on their child or something, iah tells her that children with magical parents are immune to werewolfism. so like, sidney just basically spilled the beans about him having a kid for nothing. however, iah isn't mad at her and wants to be apart of her and the kid's life. and he insists they stay with her because he says werewolves are pesky and they might want to come back for her.
they end up working together and being irritating dsfdsjfsdfsdf.

WIP INTRO
TITLE → Circle In the Sand: Reality Buried Deep
PART OF → The Palms Universe. Which is a futuristic multi-genre universe. Though this specific sector of that universe is inspired by 80s comic books, the noir genre, horror, and found family (and family trauma).
SETTING → This is essentially a simulation that's part of a planet separated from our earth. And on that planet is in an area called 'Whispering Sands' for those who want to be technical, and 'Whispering Palms' for the locals who believe the palm trees are filled with surveillance that listen more than the desert sands do.
It's a place where superpowers exist but no one really talks about them because of how they came to be. Some labs have attempted to duplicate these powers in the past, but over the years, these labs have disappeared or ran out of business ; or so people think.
The universal agency keeps an eye out for people who have attempted to play 'hero', so when their 'superman' archetype pops up, he's kind of struck down to make a statement for everyone to not to attempt the same thing. so now, in this area, no one shows off their powers except for when they're in various safe zones, which people avoid because no one understands those with powers.
triggers: c*mic book & noir themed-esque crime violence, family drama, mother-daughter manipulation, abduction, mind-control, unreality, government bs, ghosts, paranoia, and death.

short summary
→ claudia dardashti has recently been fired from attempting to make it through the 'universal agency' training program because she spotted her superior officer harming his wife when he believed no one was watching. she loses her temper on him and uses powers she did not recall having.
her life then begins to spiral out of control after she visits her father at his hotel to tell him about these powers and what had happened, and instead, while being nosy, she notices a photo of her missing daughter in his desk drawer and a photo of her deceased younger brother beside it...then she proceeds to find her father's dead body in his room when she goes to confront him about the photos.
and not just that, she finds the date her younger brother died and the date her daughter went missing written on the walls in black marker. a usb is found with it, but before she can really do anything about what she's found, due to how horribly old the tech is, her adoptive mother blames her and his other 2 adoptive children for his death, and hands claudia a letter.
the letter states claudia's heiress of the dardashti fortune and properties, so she stops over-thinking what she saw the night of her father's death and just occasionally looks at the photos she found, but she attempts to not over-think things. however, people continue to die in the hotel she stays at with her husband after her father's death, mostly drownings, and claudia doesn't really think much of it, until she begins to see the ghosts of the deceased and she begins to understand that the mess all started when she began to make friends and spark an attraction with the stunning blonde woman who began staying at the hotel the week her father died.
eventually, she comes to find there are missing pieces in her memory, and these missing pieces are related to this woman - rachel - who says she's known her since they were children from the same genetics lab. which kind of makes claudia laugh, but it's whatever, until rachel tells her how clouds brother died. and that she knows where claudia's daughter is. along with the fact that...ding ding ding, she's asleep in a lab right now, and was looking to save her daughter, and needs to wake up to find her.
but uhm, yeah, rachel won't let her wake up despite telling her this. and claudia has to keep solving mysteries and the problems rachel gives her until she figures out the right clue to wake up.

Characters
Claudia Dardashti → Main Character. Anti-Hero. A bit of a little shit, but well-meaning and has a big heart. She's from a town called 'Hysteria Heights' which is outside of the Palms. I want to say her life was normal before this, but that would be a lie, her life has been an experiment to see how her and her two adopted - powered - siblings adapt to a normal life from the moment they were adopted. Which meant, in their town, no one could leave, and no one knew why, except for her father. But in the Palms her whole issue she's going through now, is likely due to her being kidnapped after trying to save her daughter. So now she has to save herself by escaping this simulation to actually do that. Ooof.
Rachel Temperance → A main character. Villain. Causes trouble for Cloud. Very much her anti-soulmate. Very much her other-half. Very much another person in the simulation put there to make sure Claudia doesn't get out, even though she tells Cloud she's there so she 'sees' a way out. Out of the simulation and in it, I feel like they get bored when they're not taking on each other.
More to Come.

wip thots:
.....the 13th floor, that gay ass episode of black m*rror, tw*n peaks: fw/wm, and last night in S*h0.... all really make me want to re-wire the fuck out of the palms verse so bad and make it it's own thing.
but like mostly the 'bury me trilogy' as a start. because i really have this vision in my head and it's making me really excited about this project, and i haven't been excited about it in a good while.
it's just....it will take THOUGHT and development.....
but but but it.....makes sense more sense with the genres i want to mix to do this than what i was going for. because i was just making a mess.
and now, i could really do the superpower sl*sher i wanted to do that's mixed with the cyberpunk noir idea i had. but but like mixing my concepts is hard sdjhfsdhfs i'm not stealing those ideas btw i just like their vibes/aesthetics and they make my mind go brrr
it will be fun to actually put that shit how it needs to be BUT BUT BUT GOODNESS i feel like i have a better concept on the genres i want to play in, and i just has made me want to revamp that shit dshsdkfds and i'm like you know what.....i'm gonna do it.
so i am...... dsjfhsdjkfsd.
🙈
this is me making a big ass step and i'm like....ahhh.

I love when you’re reading a story and you get this sense of “oh the writer enjoyed this”. Like, as a distinct thing from writing that feels self-indulgent on the writer’s part. Sometimes it’s just like… they were having the BEST time writing this and it shows
