At the end of my first week back at work, here are some things that have made me cry: 1. Mole's Sunrise, literally every time I read it. SO BEAUTIFUL 2. An anecdote from my Toyota audiobook about senior management and union leaders mopping the floor of the factory together to make things spick and span for the hourly workers. ?!?? 3. Coming home to this messy face at teatime for the biggest smiles and cuddles. I'm so fortunate to have a job I enjoy, with people I genuinely like, and an INTJ brain good at compartmentalizing so that when I'm at work I feel fully immersed in the interesting challenges of my day - and every morning I make sure to say goodbye with a cheerful smile. But when I get home I feel overwhelmed with the knowledge that I will have to leave again. Funny how the idea of future separation can be so much worse than the separation itself Also who knew I was such a suck. #workingmum

Happy Half Birthday kid, you are so cool. I can't believe how fast it's gone and how much you've grown and how crazy you are. I thought I'd struggle not working for 6 months (I also thought I'd start a million side businesses or bands HAHA that didn't happen) but it's been the happiest time of my life and I'm so grateful.
