Half of my blogs have been/were shadowbanned and one of them has completely disappeared over the past WEEK. What the fuck is happening?
I was thinking "hmm, maybe some of my headmates have been posting stuff that's not very good" (because the blog that got shadowbanned first was the one being used by my transID-adjacent prosecutor) but then they shadowbanned my shipcourse blog and I don't think there's a good reason to do that that wouldn't apply to literally any other blog I own.
If you guys don't see me often anymore, that's why.

Might start calling myself a traumaendo DID system to weed out sysmeds and those who throw hissy fits over people's religious and spiritual beliefs.
Yes I have DID and my DID is traumagenic- most of my alters are traumagenic. But I'm also someone who has religious beliefs about my system. We have our own souls and a shared soul that acts as a sac/container for us. The fates wrote it so that we were predestined to be many. One way or another.
Note: I am a strict polytheist who primarily follows Hellenism. I have reciprocity with my Gods and have actively spoken with some in ways deemed unharmful and not a sign of my psychosis. These experiences do NOT go away with antipsychotics as they are religious in nature. I will not tolerate religious bigotry.
Anyways have some terms I low-key feel seen by...
Terms found on plurapedia and not made by me.
Pratrauma
Tumblr media
Pratrauma or praetrauma, is an origin term for systems, sisasystems, or headmates who are mixed origin, but predominately traumagenic.
Quasi-Spiritual
Tumblr media
Quasi-spiritual, also known as quasi-metaphysical, is a subset of quasigenic where one is almost or partly an spiritual system, but it does not encapsulate or fit entirely, or they feel like they're “half-way” spiritual/spirigenic/metagenic.

I think we agree with that too. I personally think that it's extremely hard to "transition" to another race without being racist, if you can even transition at all (cough cough blackface) and the transrace community has a knack for fetishising POC instead of focusing on people embracing other cultures (which is kind of what transrace is supposed to be about, which I kind of get - as someone who feels disconnected from both the cultures of my homeland and the culture of where I've grown up - but....culture isn't tied to race.)
But also I have better things to do than yell at someone for being transrace.
- Host
I'm the most transID-adjacent member of the system and honestly, yeah I totally agree with that too. Most of the users I see on here who are rcta/transrace are usually transnationality and just appear to be learning associated languages? Which isn't bad but I'm always wary about it. Can't do much though. Not without losing some important people.
- 🧸🎀
AHEM!!
Little daily question for POC systems because I like hearing opinions on discourse
What is your opinion on transrace? (This is regarding the Radqueer term that refers to ‘transitioning’ into another race)

Our main one is multigender/abrogender, so they are a boy, but they experience multiple other genders too and that's reflected in their presentation and choice of pronouns. They're also very child-adjacent.
Some people seem to think persecutors can only be adult men to me, which is funny because the adult men persecutors we do have are nowhere near as persecutory as the main one (in fact a good chunk of them haven't persecuted/fronted in ages)
I was completely unaware that a lot of people relate persecutors to being mostly (or even exclusively) masculine/men, which was so bizarre to us because our persecutors have always been andro/fem-leaning. I guess it depends on everyone's experiences and we have big reasons for our persecutors to take these particular forms, but it was just bizarre to me that the topic of non-binary and women persecutors existing or not existing was even a thing.
What about your persecutors? Would be very interesting to hear about other people's experiences dealing with their own and how they portray themselves. —Knight

hey i noticed you followed my account @multiversevessel and i was reading your DNI and im some of the stuff on the list, so i thought id tell you to avoid violating your DNI on accident. i am radqueer and use many transIDs, including the big 3.
im also a zoophile, however i dont experience any sexual or romantic attraction to animals, and im anti-abuse and anti-rape. if you reply please tag me! in my past experiences, i havent gotten any notifs when people reply to my asks. have a nice day! <3
@archivistreborn @multiversevessel (tagged both just in case)
Radqueers and TransID/Transx users are in the thin ice section. Basically you can interact but if I decide I don't like you I will usually block immediately. The information you've given me here isn't enough to warrant a block. At worst, only some of us are going to interact with you but that's fine.
Recently I've been more lax about my DNI in general since the vast majority of my other blogs don't have one, and the ones that do haven't been updated since maybe March/April, if not 2024, so unless you're an actual bigot or someone who harasses other people it's unlikely you're going to be blocked in the first place (I won't be updating the DNI here though - I think it's mostly accurate.)

Shadowbanning, Termination, & (Hopefully Not) You
Within the past month and a half, my blog was shadowbanned, terminated, and finally reinstated. It wasn't exactly a fun experience, so I wanted to put together what I learned to help others figure out next steps.
What is "shadowbanning"?
What we refer to as "shadowbanning" is actually a spam mitigation tool. If you're shadowbanned, you won't be able to:
DM anyone (in fact the DM tab will disappear from your app and will not load in a browser)
Reply to anything (even your own posts)
Send asks (tumblr will tell you they went through, but they won't arrive until the shadowban is resolved)
View your posts in the tags or in search
See your reblogs and likes in the notes
Notifications for these actions will also be suppressed. The person that you reblogged or liked from will get a ghost notification instead. The number goes up but then there's no new notification when you check.
And this makes sense! None of us want spam accounts clogging up the notes or the tags with malicious links. However, it can happen to real people. And when it does, it's most often caused by glitches.
You will not receive any notice or warning that this has happened. The only way you'll know is by these functions either disappearing and/or consistently giving you errors. The only thing you can do is put in a ticket via Support Form and wait. Reports over on reddit indicate a 6 month average wait to hear back on shadowbans prior to the layoffs. It seems likely longer now, but you still have access to your blog and followers can still see you from their dashboards. (If you were using a VPN and got shadowbanned, you'll probably want to stop. More on that at the end.)
Termination
Most of the recent reports from people who've had their blogs terminated (myself included) received no warning beforehand and no email notice after. This is because it was an automated action.
If your account has been terminated, you'll get a seemingly random log-in error message. If you attempt to log in, you'll be immediately prompted to change your password. Once you finally get logged in, you'll get an ominous screen with the old shade of tumblr blue telling you that your account has been terminated.
Don't panic. Your main blog gets locked up and will display as deactivated, but it is still recoverable. (Your sideblogs will appear to stay active but inaccessible.) Staff can reinstate your account, you just have to put in a ticket.
Note: It does sound like accounts that break TOS and are terminated are still receiving ban emails. I have not experienced this, so I cannot speak to how much of this applies there.
Fill out the Support Form
If you are shadowbanned or your account is wrongfully terminated, you need to fill out the Support Form. However, there are some complications to that...
Those of us who've been terminated have found that:
You will not get a confirmation email if you fill out the form for Terminated Account
You will not get a confirmation email if you fill out the support form using the email address on file for your terminated account
To be clear: if you fill out the form for the accurate reason with the correct email address as instructed, you will land on a webpage telling you to expect an email, but it will not arrive. However, it's very likely the form actually goes through. Start with a ticket for Terminated Account under the correct email address and see if you get a confirmation. Try this exactly once.
If you don't get a confirmation email and you're feeling anxious, you might want to try with a different email address (one completely unassociated with your tumblr account) for Account Access. Include your actual email address for your account in the body of the ticket and mention that you tried to fill it out before but received no confirmation. Again, it's very likely the form went through with the first method, so try this method exactly once.
Don't fill out the form more than twice, and don't put in multiple tickets after getting a confirmation email. This may result in your ticket being marked as spam. Once you have a confirmation email, the only thing to do is sit tight and wait for a response. Support is still replying to tickets. It took a week for me to hear back, and reports from others have been within the same general timeframe.
VPNs
Now we're getting to the why: most of the people reporting being shadowbanned or terminated in the last week have also reported using a VPN (notably Proton for a few of us). VPNs are not against TOS, but automated webtools can't always distinguish bad actors from legitimate users if both are routing traffic through the same place.
Given how short-staffed tumblr is at the moment, I would recommend split-tunneling to exclude tumblr from your VPN. This should allow you to keep the rest of your internet surfing private, while hopefully avoiding having your account suppressed or locked. (No guarantees, it could always happen for other reasons.)
If your VPN can exclude based on URL or app, you're golden. If you need tumblr's IP addresses, then this is what I found:
66.6.44.4 is listed in the Help Documentation
However, an IP address for Automattic 192.0.77.40 is what pings
Ultimately, it's going to be up to you to weigh your privacy while using tumblr vs retaining access to your blog.
Xitter and Reddit
TumblrSupport over on Xitter now is officially unmonitored. The account occasionally replies to redirect people to fill out the Support Form but that's about it. The TumblrHelp subreddit appears to be entirely impacted users now as well. Obviously posting there was helpful in piecing together what happened, and it doesn't hurt to post in either place, but the Support Form is the best bet at this point. Fill it out first.
I know it feels isolating to have this happen, but these things tend to happen in waves so you are likely not the only one dealing with it. It'll get resolved, just give it time.

Its awesome how many studies about trans men are like ">70% of trans men interviewed continue to experience menstrual-like cramping while on testosterone therapy even though menstruation has stopped" and the three conclusions drawn are either "this is probably something we should look into to see if we need to change something about how we do HRT for trans men to make it better for them," (which gets ignored by the medical community) "I need research funding to prove that HRT is mutilating and killing our poor teenage girls," or "if its over 70% its probably fiiiine lmao"

When everyone around you imagines you as a small child as a demon to be hunted it's easy to want to come off as small and soft and in need of protection and care, even once the trauma is over. I want someone to be tender to me and take care of my wounds. But the thing is when you've been told you're a monster your whole life, you don't just stop imagining yourself as one. I feel like a wolf pretending to be a sheep. I'm a liar and that makes me the devil. I will tear you apart from the inside out in a doomed attempt to nest myself safely within you. This post is about munchausen's syndrome.

1. WTF does "stereotypical popular animes" mean? What is "stereotypical"?
2. Are you really going to fakeclaim because of *checks note* 2 out of 50-60 headmates? (4 if we're including Helluva Boss and 5 if we're including HB ocs. Idk if you'd include the facet with a Angel Dust fictotype as one or not)
challenge
@ me an endo system that doesnt have an alter from any stereotypical popular animes, hazbin hotel or deltarune

Hey. Large chest people that want it to be smaller and flatter. I have a tip for you.
I am a trans man. I have an h cup chest. That is not a typo, not a brag, and not an invitation to sexually harass me. This means I have about 4 pounds of breast. This means that binders do not work for me. There’s not enough structure in the compression to keep that much weight in place.
I wore a sports bra under my binder, for a time- it kept things in place, and the binder flattened. This isn’t really safe and I recommend against it. It also never actually got me looking masc- I tended to look like I had between a c or b cup. TransTape I discarded too- it’s just not sturdy enough.
Enter Enell. Specifically, the Enell Sport High Impact Bra.
Tumblr media
I want you to look at the construction of that sports bra. It clasps in the front. This flattens the chest. And since it’s a sports bra designed for busty people, it LOCKS everything in place. When I wear my Enell sports bra, I do not bounce. It also gets me looking like I have an a cup at worst- and at best, when I layer, I actually look masc.
Admittedly, they’re not cheap. That one’s 66$. But I’ve tried even custom binders, and they don’t work as well as Enell. I was actually contemplating a custom built corset before I found Enell. Enell is also much, much safer than layering compression, since it is being used as intended (sort of). As a bonus, you can actually exercise in it- it’s a sports bra!
I will note that they use their own sizing system, so you will have to measure yourself.
Happy binding!
