This edit I made since Felix week and never got the chance to post and this fic I threw together after a tear filled HP marathon 😬
It was after the war, Felix had decided to take a break from the magical world. He was more involved that he wishes to be, he wanted to be in the mountains among dragons, away from the war his family played a major part of, happily bringing bloodshed and misery to his classmates, his friends and people he respected, but alas he could only stay hidden for so long, until he was found and dragged back to a life he never wanted a part of. In the end he choose to defy his name and the legacy that it came with.
And now, with his wand stowed away, and the snake on his forearm was covered in roses, one for the people he held dearly, a professor that he respected, a boy he had in his class, a friend that he couldn’t save, a girl that he gave detention to, he stays behind a counter in a shop along a cobble stone path, in a town that held a different type of magic in the air.
Every morning he woke up before the sun broke through the early morning sky. Everyday started with baking of fresh pastries and baked goods alike.
Cups of fresh brewed coffee lined the counter tops. Old books sit on the tops of tables, muggle stories, each built around their own magical world.
The shop closes by noon as he goes home to his wife and a small child that carry either of their last name. She paints a lot, sometimes gray canvases without a stark of color and sometimes it’s too much color, as if her magic had spilled onto the blank sheet. War and pain and lost had left a brand on both of them, invisible scars unable to heal.
They were not the hero’s of the story but they fought just as endlessly. And as she spilled herself onto white canvases, Felix pours a bit of himself in every cup of tea, and builds himself back up with a smile from each stranger that comes by.

Day 4: Coffee Shop AU.
Hope you guys like this one!
Centerfold
Note: Despite the fact that I’ve had so many paperworks to do (really, I need someone to destroy my school), I needed to write this in between. This particular story is inspired by one of the users in ffnet, Aspiratory and the story is Picture Perfect. I really would like to delve deeper into a story of regret and second chances and coffee shops just remind me of that.
Fandom: Potterverse
Pairing: Felix Rosier x Jacob’s sibling (MC)
Prompt: Felix Week Day 4: Coffee Shop AU
=Masterlist=
Tumblr media
The sound of the bustling customers faded into the background (just as it always had been), the overwhelming smell of freshly brewed coffee hadn’t even elicited a small smile from him (who even likes the smell of coffee? Definitely not him.) as he simply stared onto the offending item placed in front of him, scowling as he read the sticky note stuck on the cover of the magazine, ignoring the world revolving around him.
He should’ve known better than to accept Chester’s quest for a favor. He should’ve seen the signs of a wicked plot against- a trap he should’ve avoided.
Figured you needed a wake up call, mate. Though, shouldn’t you be the first to notice these kind of things?
-C. D.
PS. Should’ve backed out the moment one Felix Rosier offered me his friendship when I had the chance…
He sighed, plucking the sticky note attached to the cover and carefully pressed it between a random page of the magazine (He could see a potential blackmail material when presented to him), musing at the scenario his so called best friend had landed himself into.
Felix knew that his friend had conspired with Tulip Karasu, the head photographer, and Andre Egwu, the lead stylist of this photoshoot, and having worked with them with just this one time, he knew what a pain those two can be. Geniuses, he admitted to himself but quite the lunatics. How she could befriend- nevermind.
He had half a mind to throw out the magazine out of spite, leave this wretched establishment (Though he would never tell the coffee shop owner that,) and go on his merry way but his underlying curiosity as to how the photo he had been a muse of turned out to be.
Flipping through the pages as he stopped at one of the many photographs he starred in and froze.
Surely they wouldn’t be this cruel, would they?
The photographs revolve around the same coffee shop he was currently in as per the request of the terrible two claiming they were sponsored by the owner of the establishment, Madam Rosmerta.
Bullshit.
He could spot a lie even from a hundred mile (no , he couldn’t) and he knew that the conspiracy by these three people hadn’t stopped within them. They had to recruit an innocent bystander to their whim.
Great.
Although, he had to give his compliments to Tulip for having a job well done with the editing and the photograph itself.
One. It wasn’t fate that brought them in each other’s vicinity. Rather, the fascination she had held for him.
The lighting gave an ominous feeling as the rushing customers were nothing but a passing blur, giving emphasis on two lone people- a boy and a girl- sitting on the both ends of the room, not minding their solitude.
On one corner was him, the young man with slicked back hazel hair, who had remained oblivious with his surroundings, his posture- exudes an aura of sophistication as if he was forced to be on that room by his friend. While he wasn’t alone completely, he had all but ignored the rushing people, focusing on the laptop before him, his expression marred with frustration.
While on the other side of the room, was a young woman, who simply stared ahead of her, her unusual braided hair falling loosely from her shoulder as she forgot her surroundings and focused on the person who is tables away from her. The look on her eyes was of unbridled curiosity but at the same time, something was holding her back. Perhaps, the creepiness her actions seemed as the pastry and her coffee left untouched.
“We’ve been going to this coffee shop since it opened, can’t we go somewhere else?” Felix would never admit to the whine that came out of his lips as he helplessly let his best friend push him towards the table which they had inadvertently claimed theirs.
He could’ve easily overpowered Chester but what was the point when this stubborn guy would only drag him back to this hellhole?
Sure, the tea here was…acceptable but he wanted to go back to their frequent tea house: Madam Puddifoot’s.
But he had to honor Chester’s decision as it was his turn to pick though he was sure this choice of his had something to do with the stare he had been getting ever since he stepped inside the shop.
“Don’t be absurd, Felix. This is the only decent coffee shop aside from Starbucks and surprise surprise, there’s no Starbucks nearby.” His friend explained as he placed his belongings on the table. “Besides, the only thing you don’t like here is the fact that many girls look at you unabashedly…” he paused.
“…including the girl at the corner.”
He needed a new friend.
There wasn’t any caption or accompanying article on the photo- heck, it only covered a page of the magazine and yet, the photo spoke volumes. Tulip sure knows how to capture her audience it would seem. And yet, Felix could feel the emotion behind this photograph which was strange since…
He shook his head. However Tulip and Andre have done this will be explained to him later when he have a chance.
“You’re back,”
Looking up, he saw the surprised look on Madam Rosmerta as she composed herself back to being professional despite the familiarity shared between the two of them.
Her surprise was to be expected, he supposed. After all, he stopped coming after a few weeks to concentrate on his job as the heir apparent to his father’s company. His last visit here was when? Few months back for the photoshoot?
“Indeed I am,” he replied as she softened, taking note of how his voice changed as if he was silently pleading her to leave him be. To enjoy this solitude given to him.
The owner smiled. “I’ll bring your usual in a while, dear.”
And with that, she left him alone to his devices as he flipped the page towards the next photograph where he had almost dropped the magazine.
Two. He would never tell her, but it was him who noticed her first.
As usual, the coffee shop was filled with people fading through the background as the focus went on the two people- the same guy (him) and the same girl.
Their outfits were different from the first as if to say the story had shifted a little bit.
The girl, still sitting on her spot, had now supporting a sketchbook on her hand, her gaze shooting up towards the ceiling with a mixture of boredom and annoyance painted upon her face as if she was looking something…inspiring for her to work properly with her sketch. It was her turn- (she was the first one actually, he couldn’t help but add) to be oblivious of the surroundings, her attention on something which at the time seemed so important.
A mere feet away behind her, he stood in all his immaculate glory. The way he carried himself was unmistakable, he belonged into the upper echelon and yet he was there, in a humble coffee shop, staring at some random- no, she wasn’t random- at the girl who (might be oblivious to her surroundings) had captured his attention- a rare feat, Chester might say- but he couldn’t care less.
Not even if he looked like a gaping fool.
He saw her and no one but her.
“Be careful dear, or that poor thing might melt.”
He snapped out of his reverie just in time to see the knowing smile etched upon Madam Rosmerta’s face.
“I… don’t know what you’re talking about, Madam,” he cleared his throat as he tried to save face by looking around the shop as if he was looking for a seat but the look on the kind owner was infallible and he knew he was busted.
“I’ll just…”
“I’ve been trying to catch your attention, dear,” If anything, her smile only grew, making him groan inwardly. “But it seems as if something caught your attention…” She trailed off, not giving him the chance to protest.
“…someone far more interesting.”
The clinking sound of chinaware made him snap out of the memory he brought himself upon as he caught the bittersweet smile from the owner as she served him his usual tea.
“Thank you,” he muttered quietly as Madam Rosmerta chose not to say anything, instead, she simply squeezed his shoulder as she stalked away from him.
He knew of her inquisitive nature and yet, she chose not to say anything in favor of giving him his prized privacy.
Felix knew there was a reason why he liked the woman, he mused, flipping through the next page as his grip tightened.
Three. It was an excuse- a decent one, mind you. (It wasn’t, actually.) but it got him talking.
This time, Tulip had shifted the focus of the photograph. Instead of highlighting the two strangers on different sides, she chose a close up of a lone table- his- as she had chosen to highlight the expressions the two strangers wore.
He was photographed sitting this time, his laptop and beloved tea placed in front of him carefully, his body was angled towards the girl, who was standing before him as his face was angled to show politeness as he seemed to be listening to the girl whose pale face was flushed, her gaze was pure apologetic. She was carrying a tray of her ordered food, hunching slightly as if she would rather let the earth swallow her whole than to spend another grueling minute, asking the handsome guy before her.
“Is this seat taken?”
He inwardly groaned. If his meeting with Chester isn’t important, he would’ve rather imprisoned himself in his room for days. And yet, here he was, braving the smell of coffee and random girls trying to hit on him.
“Actually,” he looked up, faltering as the girl whom he had seen before stood before him, the nervousness and embarrassment is evident on her face.
Blinking, he turned to look at his surroundings only to see several empty tables and chairs scattered around him as he looked back to the now blushing girl.
“The crowd’s making you uncomfortable?” he deadpanned as he noted that his remark had embarrassed the girl further.
“I-I… Look,” she sighed as her gaze fell momentarily onto the overly cheery owner then back at him, a gesture Felix hadn’t missed. “I…just needed a place to sit down and have my peace and well…”
“Uh huh,” he drawled as he rolled his eyes at Madam Rosmerta’s antics before noticing a redheaded girl and a pink haired girl watching the girl before him, intently. “You needed new friends.” he simply stated as he gestured for the empty seat before him, not missing the relieved sigh that escaped her lips.
He let her settle in for a bit before smiling at him sheepishly.
“You have no idea,”
If only things were simpler back then. Oh how he wished he could’ve done more than what he had done but…
He was brought back from his reverie by the telltale chime from the door as he shook himself out of the memories that had been haunting him.
The thought of burning the magazine crossed his mind but he doubt Madam Rosmerta would let him do so. After all, she was in on this together with those terrible three. Why couldn’t they just leave things be? Why do they have to meddle?
Distractedly, he flipped onto the next page where his frustration to Tulip only grew.
How on earth did she do this when in fact, during the photoshoot, it was only him whom she worked with at that time?
Four. The fascination grew into attraction which grew into admiration which then grew into…
The photograph looked the same as the first one- where the they were tables away from each other, with people blurring the scene to emphasize both of them but instead of the girl who was staring at his oblivious self, they both looked up, seemingly in a staring contest with each other, unconsciously creating a world of their own. Her soft smile matching his soft gaze as a small smile decorated his usual stoic expression.
Their expressions… what was it? Why does he feel remorse filling his entire being just by looking at the picture before him?
“I thought you hated this place?” the inquisitive tone Chester had adapted made Felix regret his decision to bring his friend. “Don’t tell me-”
“Don’t be absurd, Davies,” Felix muttered as he steered him towards their table, subtly scanning their surroundings. “I’ve got limited time and this is the nearest shop.”
Chester threw him a pointed look. “Uh huh,” he mumbled, scanning the patrons as if he was searching for someone.
Felix watched his friend as he turned his attention back to him, smirking smugly as if he had solved a hard puzzle.
“You like her,”
Five. If this… this something is connection…
He was prepared for something… something- well, Tulip’s photograph magic. Something he had been expecting ever since he had received this magazine.
The photograph- the centerfold of the magazine- while the last four photographs had only taken a page, this one took two pages- fitting for a centerfold and yet, the photo that took over the page was… an empty table.
…then what happened?
Felix flipped over, skimming over the pages but he found that what follows the photograph would be series of articles that don’t make sense… well at least not to him not to the photographs it had preceded.
He went back to the last photograph, trying to figure out what goes on that redhead’s mind when she shot this. It was bad enough she had edited the photographs she had shot with him since during the photoshoot, it was only him who was there.
So how…?
“And so you just let her go?” Chester’s incredulous tone is making him regret telling his friend in the first place. But he was in desperate need of a ride home and his friend is one too willing to get him out of the hellhole he had dug himself in.
“What choice do I have?” they were both greeted with his hoarse voice- a telltale sign of the raging storm he had been earlier. “You know why I can’t- you know why I should never had pursued her in the beginning.”
Silence.
“So you’re not going to fight for her? You, who had been gravitating towards her in the first place?”
“I never cared for her- she was just some girl in my way.”
“Bullshit.”
His red-rimmed eyes met Chester’s fierce gaze.
“You would never had released your anger to your parents- you would never had punched through those walls until your knuckles bleed if you haven’t had the slightest ounce of feelings for that girl.” Chester crossed his arm as he threw a roll of bandage to him. “And if what you claim is true- if your feelings are real then you’re going to get your ass together and fight for her.”
Felix blinked as he was brought back to reality as the harsh cold realization finally sunk in. He couldn’t let his family destroy his happiness- not anymore. And if she didn’t give a damn of his roots before, then so would he.
Scrambling to his feet, he had enough of this pity party- he had to get her back- had to win her back and maybe, just maybe she would forgive him.
But before he could even get out of his seat, he saw a familiar pair of flats as he looked up only to be greeted by the soft smile on her face- the same one he had seen from the first photograph.
“Is this seat taken?”

Felix Appreciation week- Day 3: Mythology AU
Tumblr media
It was your happy place, in an old library, surrounded by books for hundreds of years. When the world around you got too chaotic, you could always find your anchor among the pages of your favorite books. On one of these days, when the rain pelted against the large glass windows, you sat with your legs crossed, book in your lap, pages of paper were scattered around you, your coffee cup sat beside you. Everything felt too overwhelming so you sat drowned yourself in your favorite stories, of gods and goddesses. “Hello” A voice comes soft, almost ghost like. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to block the path” you apologized, pulling your bag and books aside. You looked up to see a boy, maybe about your age or a little older, there was something familiar about his eyes and the paleness of his skin. “It’s alright Miss” he smiles, and you’re positive you’ve seen that smile a thousand time before. “What’s your name?” you asked before you could stop yourself. “Felix” he looks away from the book he was holding. “Have I met you before?” His name, you knew if so well but couldn’t place it. “Afraid not” he sits across from you, mirroring you “but you know me don’t you” he points to the book in your lap, you quickly move your hands aside. His fingers grazed the pages and out of nowhere a rush of wind began to blow, the pages of book began to flip by itself until it reached to your favorite story. The story of Felix, the god of resourcefulness and ambition. “You know me” “Yeah right” you snorted and closed the book. There was no way it could be true, but everything made sense, it was as if the words danced off of the pages and created him. Everything from the eyes to the way he stood matched up perfectly. “It can’t be true” “Really?” With a flick of his fingers books began to move off of the shelves, floating in mid air. You gasped and scrambled to get to your feet “b-but why?” “You need me” Felix smiled and took your hand his “you brought me here”
