I feel like you may have been asked before but what if Austin had encountered the test Fembots from an earlier scene instead of the nightgown-wearing ones he did encounter?

I think it would have been a disaster if they were equipped with the guns, but let's say the scene is done as normal, Cheryl would have a clear shot after Anita drops onto his shoulders, but violence is less effective against his plot armour that seduction. I'd say that would switch Austin into his own seduction mode straight away and do his striptease while avoiding the Fembots' shots.

why didn’t they just use the test Fembots on Austin? Dr. Evil’s incompetence I’m guessing?

Maybe a bit of both, Dr. Evil has a penchant for not using his head and using a slow dipping mechanism over a pool of mutated seabass to off him.

I would actually say it was a good idea though. Austin has had a habit of his plot armour allowing him to avoid assassinations, so a violent confrontation could have been a disaster, but keying into his libido and ideals of free love would have a better chance of stopping him.

Presenting him with a harem of Fembots with their own boudoir to sweep him into would have been irresistible if it weren't for Vanessa, and having them equipped with smoke that can subdue him and force his arousal would boost their odds more.

Without any plot armor, do you think Austin really had any chance of beating the fembots (at least in time)? It really seems like once Austin was in the bed he would be screwed (possibly in more than one way) and even if he escaped the bed he'd just be gassed again for more playtime in his new cage. Maybe even Vanessa opens the door only to see the fireplace, with no sign of Austin any more.

Yeah, I think that after the Fembots bring him into bed, the fireplace should revolve again to trap him in short order, then he's stuck in the boudoir no matter what. Maybe in a longer cut of Austin getting up from the bed we would have a reason for Cindy and Donna leaving the bed, but even then, it would be unrealistic for a guy to get up from five synthetic strumpets literally piling on top of him.

So, it has been revealed that the original intention for “The Spy Who Shagged Me” wasn’t to kill off Vanessa in the beginning and have Austin get a new girlfriend a la James Bond. It was only done due Elizabeth Hurley’s schedule making it impossible for her to return for the whole movie. If she had been available for the whole film, how do you think the movie would have been different, particularly regarding the loss/theft of Austin’s mojo and losing his sexual confidence/becoming impotent for his wife?

That's an interesting one. I guess if Vanesa did stick around she would have been dealing with a less confident Austin and guiding him through a story arc where he realises that he still has what it takes. It might be an opportunity for her to become a bit more free herself, as she gets to visit the 60s and, if the early scripts held together, had to face off against some he-bots.

Is there any particular moment that you wish was longer in both of the Fembots scenes in "International Man of Mystery"?

Definitely the bed scene, maybe more angles like the originally planned shot of Austin's POV, or a longer shot showing the Fembots looming over Austin.

Basically I want to see Austin struggle more as the Fembots probe his body for weak points.

Do you think anything would have played out differently if instead of being knocked out by the gas, Austin was put to sleep by the Fembot squeezing him with her thighs? I like to think that it would have made him feel like he couldn’t take them on physically and would make him feel a bit more submissive to them knowing if he tried to escape then he’d just get choked out again by the headscissors

Austin being subby has crossed my mind, to the point that he wouldnt even pull up the skirt and just let it cover his eyes while feeling Anitas legs, but I think it would be decided quite early on. He has to make an effort to look away at first, and I can imagine that if he didn't it would have him staring at all of the Fembots with such adoration that he couldn't formulate a response to their invitation for a little fun.

What would've the fembots done to austin if he never escaped or attempted too?

I think in universe, it would be likely that they detained him in bed until Project Vulcan succeeded, either by keeping him in a trance or maybe even making love to him. The whole shtick seems to revolve around getting him into bed and if he is compliant, there may not be a need to suck out his mojo.

in the photo with Austin in bed drinking from a glass with the fembots, can you name who is who amongst the fembots? I can't identify the bottom left fembot.

The only ones we know are Cindy Margolis (sitting left of Austin) and Andrea Scott (confirmed by her daughter on Tiktok, sitting right of Austin) who, along with the other three, was likely hired to model for the shoots for the mock bedroom and studio shots in place of the others in the film.

Until any info surfaces, we won't really know for sure.

If someone else started doing the same strip tease Austin did, how do you think the fembots would react? Could someone else cause them to malfunction or is it just Austin's mojo?

That's an interesting question, as I think it depends on the person. Austin's mojo is quite a powerful but I do think Nigel could do the same.

That said, I can see Nigel being confident enough to allow himself to enjoy their attentions like the Goldmember henchwomen and could likely just walk out confidently whenever he wanted, he wouldn't even need to get to the point of having to do a striptease.

Who was the fembot that wrapped her legs around austin? I heard her name is Anita, but what does she look like? Is there photos of her?

Anita is pictured here on the far left. She is the third fembot in the purple outfit.

She is a talented stunt performer who is credited alongside Cris Thomas Palomino as a stunt performer rather than as one of the Fembot actresses.

Aside from also being Vanessa (you can see her in the shot of Vanessa climbing the ladder) she is also the Fembot actress who does the more physical/dangerous stuff, such as the legs on Austin's shoulders, falling off the bed when Austin escapes, the initial cartwheeling and her hair catching fire.

Aside from this she is also the legs that stand over Austin while he is pinned on the bed and one of the Fembots who has a closeup headshot when Austin dances.

Naturally she is a Brunette, so she looks a little different from her role here.

How come your screenshot of Austin Powers doesn’t have his glasses all crooked? Where’d you get that version from if you don’t mind me asking? I know you mentioned in your reply about a Workprint but I can’t seem to find anything of that version particularly. If that angle of Austin Powers appearing without the typical crooked glasses and dazed look is a work print; where can that version be found?

That's just a simple photoshop to represent the other version of the scene.

If Austin encounter the fembots before he met Vanessa and was committed to that relationship, do you think Austin could seduce the fembots away from the control of Dr. Evil?

Austin and the Fembots as a group stopping evil seems like a fun concept and instead of each side trying to drain/destroy the other party, they were able to enjoy having mutual sexy time with each other in a more loving manner?

That's hard to say. There's generally two sides of an argument to be had, one side believing that Austin's newfound devotion to Vanessa was what helped him ultimately resist the Fembots. The other side believes he could have escaped eith cross mojonation anyway.

Personally, I side with the former. The Fembots were designed to overwhelm Austin, and with a notion of free love augmenting his libido, he would have been ensnared by the amorous Androids and wouldn't know he needed to escape until if was too late, either by trapping or draining.

Also, there's the fact that Cross motivation is also a thing, the Fembots likely designed only to seduce and unable to deal with being seduced in turn.

Hey, a question that has lingered a little bit during the cross-mojonation scene. When Austin was lighting the cigarettes and tossing them towards the Fembots did it really affect (or is it effect I get those two confused) them in a way that contributed there heads to exploding? I don't know if this was asked before but I'm curious what y'all think of that :)

The whole routine was Austin's way of combating their mojo with his own, so while the cigarettes didn't likely do anything directly to cause the Fembots to overload, they did factor in with the striptease and dance.

What do you think Austin was experiencing in his mind while gassed?

Honestly, it's hard to say, I'd assume that as a "Love gas" i t would be perfumed. I imagine the aphrodisiac fumes initially overwhelm disorient, increasing susceptibility to arousal, increasing sensitivity to sensations, like more vivid colour, experiencing moments in slow motion. Essentially the wave of sweet-smelling smoke envelops you, your thinking becomes foggy, finding it hard to concentrate, forgetting everything momentarily as your mind draws a blank. Your body begins to feel tingly, as if anticipating an intimate moment. As the smoke begins to clear your eyes are drawn to vivid pinks and purples, as you watch a slow motion show of cascading hair, gyrating limbs and bosoms cradled by billowing feathers and fabric.

From there, it depends on the the cut, the normal cut in the film has Austin remain in the trance while the Fembots drag him into bed. While the initial spell quickly clears in the Workprint, Austin straightening his glasses as he regains his senses, only to reflexively and reluctantly groan meekly as his heightened libido causes an undesired stir in his pants.

Before I recently discovered that the fembot who landed on Austin was an actual stunt actress, I honestly thought it was some kind of animatronic or something. Would they have gone that route if they couldn't get an an actual female to do the stunt?

Anita was down to also do stunts as Vanessa Kensington, plus her Fembot scene had her have hair on fire, lunging after Austin and also doing the cartwheels with Cris, so her hanging from a trapeze may not have been much more of a stretch.

That said, the B roll shows there were likely multiple takes, so I wouldn't want to be the one hanging.

Animatronics were used though, for the close-up shots of Cheryl's nozzles deploying, so it could have maybe been an option available, but I'm glad they went with what they did.

Imagine a scenario were after the fembots have dealt with Austin and drained him of his mojo were called to give reinforcements against the allies how do you think it would play out I like the concept that after they’ve drained Austin of his mojo and he’s lobotomized the main fembots go out and flank the allies from behind while the other 2 stay with Austin and keep him occupied

It's a possibility, as they would be irresistible to most men.

That said, I don't know what they would have done as it seems their boudoir forms were made to incapacitate and seduce, rather than kill. Their smoke maybe could have debilitated the soldiers moving in.
