hi! is it ok, for the monthly challenge, that i write a new piece that's more than 1K, but post it as an incomplete WIP? as in, the first chapter will be on-theme (time-related for june 2025), femslash, and more than 1K, and posted by the end of june, and technically could be read as a standalone. but in the future i plan to add more chapters. just making sure i wouldn't be disqualified for marking it on AO3 as chapter 1 of ? instead of complete. thanks!

No. Works should be completed before the due date if they're multi chaptered. They can be first in a series, but we don't accept incomplete works.

status update for the word count for this year: we're at OVER 370k words in the ao3 collection now. Which is an improvement of almost 110k (about 108k give or take a few) since last time I did the maths which is INCREDIBLE.

That is nearly 400k of femslash written for this year alone in rollovers and monthly challenges, not even counting the work our big bang participants have been putting in for their longfic.

how closely does your fic have to align w the prompt ? (for the june challenge)

Get as creative as you want! obviously the fic needs to connect to the prompt in some way but that way can be abstract. I love seeing the varied ways people interpret the prompts.

Like, for example, the April prompt "Forests" - I saw plenty of people include non-literal forests in their fics. One person even did it by including the phrase "you can't see the forest for the trees" in the fic.

Greetings. Can you please explain or give examples for this month's challenge? I'm a little confused.

No worries. My main Vision of this prompt was time loops, honestly. But I get not everyone wants that so I phrased it a little more loose so people can approach it however they want without having to make something sci-fi.

Time and time again is just a phrase that means "repetition" (i.e it happens again and again) So if that helps, think about it like that.

But, other ways you could write it that are more specific (just off the top of my head):

5+1 fics (the "five times character did x and one time they didn't type things, it's a well known fandom trope)

Soulmates (they're meant to be so they keep finding each other across time and space)

A casual relationship that is bordering on serious for how frequently they get together. It could either be super ill-advised or something they don't even realise they want/need.

An on again/off again relationship and how that plays out - the break ups/the make ups/etc.

Something a couple does together a lot (i.e. x times they do y).
