Review: Why I hate Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Before I begin, I want to be clear that I am a huge Zelda fan. It’s easily my favorite game franchise.
Breath of the Wild is visually stunning game in which the open world feeling of the original NES installment feels fresh, new, and can be taken on the go. The vast world to explore feels alive and immersive. The characters all shine with personality and unique design. The voice acting and cut scenes are a welcomed first for the franchise and they are done very well.
However, This is the best I can say about this installment in the series. They focused so much on the open world, that the other half of the game feels shallow and tedious. The sacrifice of fully fleshed out dungeons for tons of mini puzzles is disappointing. What’s considered the actual dungeons all look and feel the same. The Bosses are a total rip off because they just feel like the same boss over and over. Everything about the main missions of this game are way too easy and all the side quests are so tedious. It’s boring to collect 200 korok seeds. The puzzles don’t feel challenging, they feel like a chore. The fact you have to pay extra to get a harder difficulty in the DLC through Hero Mode(A mode already available in most Zelda game at no extra charge) is frustrating.
I loved the beginning of this game. After the second Divine Beast though, it just starts to feel like the same puzzles, story, enemies and bosses over and over. I am disappointed in not liking it. It should be everything I wanted in a Zelda game. I would’ve forgiven everything else if the Bosses were more unique and fleshed out. Maybe I’ll try it again in the future.

Sonic Forces Review Part 1
Some would say Sonic overdue for retirement, but I say without Sega’s persistence, fantastic installments like Sonic Generations and Sonic Mania would have never came to be. Today we dive into the Hedgehog’s latest entry with Sonic Forces. Spoilers may follow, just in case.
So after the countless beatings Dr Robotnik has received over the years, he’s decided to create an artificial life form out of pure malice. And right after that quick cutscene, you are put straight into the action. Controls are tight and responsive. The added speed boost is great with regaining momentum, however losing momentum feels cheap like any Sonic game when hit by enemies for going too fast. A second cutscene follows after this Generations like level showing some of Sonic’s best villains banding together with a new face and ultimately defeating Sonic and plunge the world in peril. This is where you create an avatar to join the resistance and fight Eggman’s armies back.
The character creator is pretty good for a first time officially in the Sonic series. Aside from sadly not being able to create a name for your creation, it still offers quite a bit of variety with unique abilities per species.
More will follow soon.
