i think one of the most important things you learn about making connections with others is that a significant portion of the time people just do not know theyre doing what theyre doing

yapping about chris and cogon’s relationship

they don’t have a relationship under any actual terms because Cogon really never has. he has flings and then he has what he had with Grizzly and Chris. starting from a teen and basically forever on he tries to create relationships to suit his needs. specifically he tries to lure other people into wanting him more then he wants them. he wants to be an irremovable part of someone’s life, while they’re a small piece of his. this is exactly what he wants from Chris. he wants his identity to center around him so he gives Chris all the social validation he was lacking so bad. the chance to be a new person after his transformation. to be desired as someone entirely new. Chris wants Cogon to want him because it fulfills his own need. if he makes Cogon happy, then Cogon will want him, and that desire for Cogon’s attention fills Cogon’s own need to have someone desire him more than he desires them so he gives Chris his attention to keep it that way which fills Chris desire for it. effectively they’re using eachother as a tool to fulfill something for themselves, which, while they also try to have a normal sort of friendship, is going to end up with them seeing eachother less and less as people (though Cogon already kind of stands here) and more and more as the tools they use eachother as.

I like to jokingly use the “don’t you know the trappers trap can trap the trapper” phrase for Cogon’s relationships

Cogon is usually pretty in his element at public events. Chris is not. He more or less gets used to cogon parading him around though.

To be clear they are not romantically involved. Just have a weird thing going on that takes a lot of diving into cogon’s character and Chris’s transformation issues to explain.
