I am so flipping full of yearning today it’s driving me nuts. Every song stirs my heart, flashes of my hometown appear in my mind, and I crave the love of my family and the empty blue of the desert sky.

Once again, Instagram cropping and quality is foiling my plans so I’m posting my art here.

(frankly the quality is not great overall, which is frustrating, since it seemed good on my laptop.)

Once upon a time, the world was empty. 

And in that dark empty, there was an egg, and that egg was the sun. 

And I was the sun. 

And I was the earth. Hills and valleys rolled down my arms and my shoulders held up the sky and all was dark and fire. 

And the stars encircled me and the crescent moon was at my brow and wreaths of fire lit the ground beneath my feet. And birds sang, and they nested in my hair. Little green finches tucked under my ears. And the sky above me opened and white light split the world around me and I rose, as the sun, to take my place in the realm of light.

And mushrooms grew along the walls of the alien shaft that lifted me. And the birds could not come so they fled my shoulders and flew back to earth.
