newly ex-client let me share this

their pokémon i was helping is called Cinna. Cinna loves glenn & his machamp and so really wanted to copy his Dynamic Fury technique, which is what i was helping with

Cinna is a buneary

their person wasn’t too sure about the whole thing. fair dos since bunearies - while definitely able to - aren’t most known for their punches and they didn’t wanna let Cinna down. they messaged me about it privately and i started trying to move Cinna towards kicking instead of punching. lil thing was so adamant about the punches it tries pummel me as soon as it twigs what i’m doing

couple months go by and Cinna still ain’t doing too good with the exact Dynamic Fury mimicking. person signals me over, i set up Cinna with a dummy, head over. person gets all hushed and says they wanna call it quits

glass. shatters.

we look over to the sound. office window 3 storeys up just gone. we look to Cinna. crying and holding her foot. dummy nowhere to be seen

within a month we’d perfected Dynamic Armada

moral of the story: bunearies have huge ears & ‘ear’ in their name for a reason

ground. brown hair, wear mainly dirty green colours. not bright enough to be thought of as grass specialist. i have a bright red one that apparently makes me look like a dark specialist

as for pokémon… i’ve been compared to a piloswine because of my hair. brown, shaggy, over my eyes. i used to have proper fangs you could compare to tusks if you want to further it but they’re all chipped now

Wisp’s the one i battle most with and people do say i look a lot like her with the bushy hair over my eyes. it was suggested i make my hair white to match for halloween and while that sounds cool it is not something up my alley

Edm helps me the most for work which also is a lot of battling. i only resemble her in being tall for our species. she’s 2 inches taller, i’m well beyond that, but it’s the same outcome isn’t it?

Ramohm is my longest partner. the only reason you’d tell i was a poison type trainer from looking at me is if i was wearing clothes stained in poison. and even then you’d guess Pollut was my ace since he’s the one to stain most noticeably heheh

Me n' Beau are around those top two, and so are plenty folks in the region, so we're curious.

What’s y deal with forced evolution then? Can’t keep y mouth shut when a random post comes with it, has t be somethin interestin there.

it’s more i can’t keep my fingers still. can’t use dictation on my phone and even if i could it would not pick up a lick of what i were saying

about the main question, two of my pokémon were evolved prematurely through rare candies. Ramohm, my oldest partner, was a birthday gift from my folks. he was a toxel for less than a week. folks had crushed up a bunch of those exp things into his kibble so he’d evolve sooner and they could boot me out. he was in really bad health for ages. five years later he is better but he’ll never be anywhere near a normal toxtricity’s level. very poor immune system which is saying something for a poison type, and his muscle didn’t develop properly when he evolved

Adelene is a recent addition to my gang, houndoom with only her two back legs. found her abandoned on the volcano on a day out, took her to a center, worker recognised her. we pieced together that Ads had been ditched by her old person because when she evolved at not even a month old her front legs didn’t evolve with her, effectively. if anything they malformed during the evolution. what were left of them were removed

also started looking after an empoleon a week back now. old trainer abandoned her and she didn’t take too well to the shelter so a buddy pulled a favour from me. i look after her, the shelter keeps advertising her, they contact me if anyone’s interested. not sure if i should be giving her a nick at all but i feel bad not

i can give some help for the grafaiai, had one for 3 years and did a lot of research way back when. as i’m sure yous know, anon, they’re going to be painting on things a lot using their poisonous saliva. let them do this on things otherwise they’ll get all antsy or depressed. it’s like not allowing someone to have any personal items in their home, it won’t feel like their home to them, they won’t have any attachment. i have a mostly flat roof that my one, Pollut, has full reign over

once the saliva dries it isn’t dangerous. it loses any toxic fumes, you can touch it (great for possible bonding, i was up with Pollut once and doodled one of his designs into an unpainted bit, he got me to do it with actual paint and now every so often he’ll want me to add another), don’t lick it that gets it wet and inside you.

the saliva is heavily influenced by the food your grafaiai eats. it’ll change the colour and can affect the potency. acidic foods neutralise it to some degree, might make it easier for you to deal with if it gets on you

rubber gloves are very useful with any poison type. used them more with my trubbish than my toxel-turned-toxtricity but if i had used them with Ramohm i would be less physically scarred and prolly less resistant. or more likely not as resistant for a longer period of time

all in all, rubber gloves and antidotes on hand will enable yous to look after them

I have a Nidoran (girl), Grafaiai, and a Toxel. I want to be be better at handling them before anything else, they're very well behaved and haven't hurt anybody.

Luckily for you I have worked with both Nidoran morphs and toxel before! Idk enough about grafaiai to comment on their care sorry, I've never even seen one irl!

Nidoran are known to have poor control over their poison and often release it when excited or stressed without meaning to.

Luckily, unless using a move or in extreme stress, this poison is only excreted through the horns and and the spines on their back and there is a way to prevent them from poisoning others whole they're leaning.

This method is called 'capping' and it's pretty commonly used for younger Nidorans, or affectionate poison type pokemon like Hisiuan sneasel. Basically, you buy some thick plastic caps from a poison type specialist store. Wipe down uour nidorans horn thoroughly with an antibacterial wipe and put them on. These caps prevent the direct 'poison point' poisoning from nidoran and are good for introducing your nidoran to new people/non poison pokemon. Make sure to remove and rinse the caps every 2 hours, and never use them in a pokemon battle. Also some nidorans dislike the texture of these caps at first, so make sure to reward her with treats/soothing words while taking them off/puting them on.

For your toxel, I'd recommend using rubber gloves while handling it, as, even if you don't get poisoned, their static can cause temporary paralysis which is not something you want to let happen at all
