Some soft Gwynriel for you 🥰
I always thought Gwyn would be the first to fall in love before he falls harder. Of course after they already are deep into their friendship.
Also, Azriel has dark circles. Sjm and her „most beautiful“ descriptions cannot convince me otherwise.
I‘m in a good enough mood today to tell you that I‘m redrawing that awful fanart from 2022. Like always- trust the process.

You know what I was just thinking about…. This whole argument about how SJM only writes girls as the MC and therefore the next ACOTAR is Elain’s book.
Do you know how easy it would have been for her to set up Elain’s book? Picture it this way.
ACOSF ends. Instead of Azriel’s bonus chapter…we get Elain’s bonus chapter.
The exact thing happens. She stumbles on Az in the living room…Rhys interrupts. We get inside her head. The conflict of Azriel or Lucien. We get her thoughts about Lucien.
As an added bonus….NO GWYN!
There. ACOTAR 5 established. Elain as MC, having to choose between Az or Lucien as her supporting man and healing and growing yada yada yada…..
And yet……
That’s not how it went.
We got Azriel’s POV instead. We then got 4 pages of him and Gwyn….
We got his shadows calming down because of her.
We got him smiling multiple times because of her.
There was absolutely NO REASON for SJM to add Gwyn in that chapter if it was setting up Elain’s book? And like why make Az the center of the conflict?
Why introduce Gwyn at all? Why make it Azriel’s POV? Why show Azriel’s thoughts and reactions? Why end it like this?

There is no canon set up for ACOTAR 5 being Elain’s book. Everything…from Azriel’s Bonus chapter, to SJM answering we’d know who the “NEXT” book is about after being asked if Azriel would get a book…the plotpoints in ACOTAR and Crescent City…. All of that points to Azriel being the MC of the next book.
And one more thing….that annoying argument about how the series is just for the Archeron sisters…I’m not even going to bring up the multiple interviews where SJM said otherwise but let’s attempt simple math shall we.
There’s 3 ACOTAR books left (possibly more) and one Archeron sister left. SJM has said the spinoff books will focus one one couple per book with an overarching plot to the next book.
So how on earth are there 3 books left with one couple per book but “the series is about the Archeron sisters only?”

Elucien DOES NOT ruin the three x three symmetry, actually, and here's why:
This is a variation of the Death of Koschei the Deathless, in which three sisters marry three kings, one of the Moon, the Wind, and the Sun.
Considering Rhys is the High Lord of the Night Court, and owns the Moonstone Palace, it seems pretty apparent to me that Rhys is the Moon King. And his mate is Feyre.
Cassian is an Illyrian who is born hearing the song of the wind, loves Illyrian culture per ACOFAS, is called the Prince of Bastards, and lives at the House of Wind, it's safe to say that he's the Wind King. And his mate is Nesta.
And Azriel is...
Oh. Wait.
So it's not three brothers three sisters, and yet it still maintains the three symmetry.
Because Lucien means light, he's the son of the High Lord of the Day Court, presumably the heir as his only son, and likely will have access to whatever palace Helion resides in once his heritage is revealed. And his mate is Elain, whose name also means light, who craved sunshine in her darkest moment, and who is often represented by flowers, which benefit from sunlight.
Hmm.
Intreresting.

“ Azriel entered the warmth of the stairwell, and as he descended, he could have sworn a faint, beautiful singing followed him. Could have sworn his shadows sang in answer.”

All I’m saying is that if I had a crush on a guy and I heard that his only defense for liking me was that his two brothers were with my two sisters and therefore he thinks he deserves me and is supposed to be with me because the all powerful cauldron was ‘wrong’ and he couldn’t give any other reasons for why he wanted to be with me, and then he goes and hangs out with another girl for a few minutes, and in those few minutes, something restless settles in him, he shares private things about himself (singing) with her, laughs with her, jokes with her, notes her charming irreverence, and his shadows (who disappear around me and other people) reach out to dance with her breath, sing in response to her, and lounge on his shoulders just content to watch their conversation, and then he goes and gives her the necklace that was originally mine, and the thought of her happiness from receiving the necklace sparked something in his chest, and then he consciously erased the smile it brought him and buried the image down deep, where it glowed a thing of secret, lovely beauty; I would go crazy and I would not think that was nothing.
I would not be okay with that if I were in miss Elain’s position.
And I know some of y’all will say “if I were gwyn and I knew about all the stuff that went on between Az and Elain, I would be upset.” Baby that was before. That was past tense.
Azriel and Elain have confirmed crushes on each other and alllllll that stuff still happened with gwynriel.
He almost kissed her, couldn’t give a single real reason why he wanted to be with her that went beyond having a mate, and then had an entire mate-filled-language moment with a different girl who’s joy SPARKED SOMETHING IN HIS CHEST. And “For whatever reason” HE COULD PICTURE THAT JOY AND HAD TO CONSCIOUSLY ERASE THE SMILE IT BROUGHT HIM AND BURIED THE IMAGE (OF HER JOY) DEEP DOWN WHERE IT GLOWED A THING OF SECRET, LOVELY BEAUTY. Alllll in one night.
“He doesn’t even consider her a friend” and yet all that stuff still happened before they even developed a real relationship/ friendship with each other.
What do y’all mean “there is no reason to ship them”

Can we all agree that the Darkling isn’t born a monster and a manipulator, the society made him into one?
A part of Aleksander Morozova died that night when he was thirteen, next to the frozen lake, next to the two bodies of Annika and Lev. A piece of Aleksander Morozova died every time he witness his people being slaughtered, until there’s nothing left but the cold hard gravestone.
If he died at thirteen, he’d be a tragedy.
If he died before his killings start, he’d be a revolutionary hero that fought for the rights of Grisha.
Instead, he lived long enough to be a villain.
Yes he is terrible now, and he doesn’t regret it, there’s no argument to that, but what about before? Know that Grisha is based on Jews. Know that Fjerda kills Grisha. Know that Shu Han cuts them open, do experiments on them, and enslaves them. Know that the wandering isle believe Grisha blood to be a cure-all, so they kill them to drink their blood. Know that even Ravka is unkind to his people. Know that he witness these atrocities as a Grisha for centuries. Know that his mother teaches him everyone will be dust in the blink of an eyes. Know that all the Darkling ever wanted was to be loved by his country.
Know that this was him, it would have been him, but instead we are never going to see what he could have been.
All the colors you couldn’t see in the dark.

New anti-AI tool from the team developing Glaze that looks to poison prompts and ruin data sets entirely.

The tool can go so far as to trick AI into generating things it didn't ask for. 50 "poisoned" images of dogs into a data set yield typical errors companies have been working to get rid of: weird proportions, extra limbs, etc. When they added 300 samples, it was drastic enough to make a data set that was trained to generate "dogs" into "cats" making the tool basically useless.
It's not out yet, but they're adding it to Glaze and they intend on making it open source.
Welcome to the age of the AI arms race.
