  ♯  GWEN HIRSCH regression headcanons𓈒  𓂅

NOTES : happy pride month gwen hirsch !  or me hitting greg hirsch with the transification beam for pride month because she has been rotting my little brain𓈒  i've made a moodboard and thought i'd indulge myself further with some headcanons as i ease back into writing𓈒

── she tends to regress primarily due to frustration, dysphoria, and sleepiness ― a sleepy gwen is nine times out of ten a small gwen𓈒 her regression is primarily involuntary, oftentimes clouding her brain when she's feeling overwhelmed by big emotions or feeling out of place𓈒 additionally, she dabbles in a more pleasant voluntary regression, in order to reclaim the girlhood she was denied𓈒 

── gwen is primarily a toddler regressor, tending to stay between the ages of two and four although she may stray a bit older to around six or as young as an infant on rare occasions𓈒 she's a rather shy regressor, her usual clumsy awkwardness carrying over into regression𓈒 

── much to her chagrin she often finds herself slipping at work what with the overwhelmingly stressful environment, and tom's oftentimes abrasive nature𓈒 

── although she does her best to fight to reject her headspace while working, admittedly she’s not the best at this, oftentimes leading to her bursting out in sobs when tom seems to recognize like clockwork that she’s feeling smaller𓈒 in these times of overwhelming stress, gwen tends to drop lower which only furthers her fearful whimpers𓈒 

── despite her touch and go relationship with tom, and his initial crows of haughty delight at her vulnerable state, tom has proven himself not as heartless as he claims, covering for gwen whenever she’s regressed and providing her with much needed company in her infantile state𓈒 while it takes awhile for him to warm up to her, off the record he may occasionally baby talk to her delightedly, offering a finger for her to grab hold of happily, chuckling warmly at her innocent babbles of contentment𓈒

── being autistic gwen’s regression offers her a chance to unmask𓈒 due to this reason, she’s nearly always stimming regardless of her emotions𓈒 while a big gwen represses her body’s need to self regulate in both an attempt to mask and to be taken seriously as a trans woman in her position, a regressed gwen has neither the strength or the patience to suppress her emotions and the urges that come along with them𓈒

── gwen allowing herself to stim is a telltale sign of regression — an upset gwen will often self soothe by rocking herself back and forth rhythmically sucking a thumb, while an excited gwen will oftentimes flap her hands or stim vocally with pleasure𓈒

── a deeply regressed gwen is hardly verbal, which can be a major source of frustration when she’s regressed a bit older than usual𓈒 a frustrated gwen is prone to hitting herself with exasperation, grumbling garbled sounds of shame, humiliated whimpers slipping from her lips𓈒 she may tug at her hair once she has exhausted herself from use of her fists, especially when her regression is a result of her dysphoria𓈒

── her close cropped hair is a major source of discomfort although it is something her family insists upon𓈒 ever obedient, oftentimes to a fault, gwen has obliged, justifying this for no other reason than avoiding the uncomfortable feeling of hair on her neck𓈒 while she typically finds that wearing muted colored clips or headbands aid in the alleviation of dysphoria, this isn’t always the case𓈒

── a regressed gwen, oftentimes enthralled by cartoons such as blues clues, clifford, and spongebob, tends to stray more towards cartoons aimed at young girls when dysphoria is particularly bad𓈒 although it’s a small thing, viewing herself through the lens of more feminine characters can work wonders in affirming her trans identity𓈒 while her favorite cartoon is my little pony, she’s quite fond of shows like doc mcstuffins and angelina ballerina as well𓈒 

── nevertheless, with all of these characters presenting in a more stereotypical feminine manner, sometimes gwen feels frustrated returning to the notion of her hair𓈒 these emotions feel overwhelming to her, often leaving her in tears as she laments being unable to have hair long enough to style and braid making her a “proper” girl in the eyes of her childlike self𓈒

── despite the complexities of their relationship, tom always seems to know just how to bring gwen down from her elevated state of emotions𓈒 his presence is grounding to the regressor, and he’s quick to provide soft words of affirmation𓈒 he always seems to know how to soothe poor gwen, rubbing circles into her back with just the right amount of pressure, shushing her gently and rhythmically𓈒 

── while tom doesn’t have extensive knowledge on female childhood, he’ll oftentimes ask shiv for advice𓈒 although she’s not the greatest example of a “proper” feminine upbringing, she’s amused by tom coming to her, secretly honored to be used as a role model for a regressed gwen𓈒

thank you so fucking much for that flag. I've been so scared, wondering if that trauma made my regression 'wrong' and knowing that others are also regressors traumatized in that way makes me feel..much less alone.

o6/o8  𓎢  you're welcome haha ― it's been something weighing quite heavily on me in recent times as i'm forced to come to terms with some things and while i'm sorry that so many people have suffered in the way i have which has then impacted regression, i'm glad that i can help to destigmatize topics like this𓈒 quite honestly i was worried about posting it and seeing people's reactions ― it's something that i've been feeling quite ashamed of and i felt extremely vulnerable posting it but i wanted to attempt to turn my own complex and largely overwhelming emotions into something concrete to perhaps take ownership of it and attempt to allow myself to feel all these things while simultaneously creating a space where others can feel seen or feel free to use as needed𓈒 regression is a trauma response and i think being forced to sanitize one's regression should never have to be the case ― i find that sanitization has done nothing but cause me more grief if anything so i wanted to create that flag in order to begin working through things instead of continuing to repress i suppose𓈒 we shouldn't have to feel shame for our regression being affected by trauma and i think it's silly to make someone feel like "less" of a regressor for dealing with real life difficulties when we're all simply trying to heal𓈒 it really does mean a lot to me to hear that my flag has resonated with others and i promise you that your regression is not "wrong" or "dirty" or tainted in any way because of what you've been subjected to𓈒 you're brave and strong and are not alone : )𓈒

o6/o8  𓎢  hii ^-^𓈒 apologies fur the late response but no worries fur the questions𓈒 probably too chronically online for google haha but iwcaut/care means interact with caution/interact with care ― just a heads up that i am very much disordered and this Will affect interactions𓈒 a type of warning label i suppose and an ask for grace as i'm oftentimes not afforded the same kindness and grace many non―disabled and disordered people are given irl so it's me putting it out there that i Can be difficult to interact with given circumstances but i'm doing my best and will oftentimes mirror the responses that i receive𓈒 the tq in 'slight tq user' refers to typing quirk which basically just means i'm prone to typing 'usually' or 'abnormally' and giving a heads up about that𓈒 i'll oftentimes slightly alter spelling and spacing in ways that alleviate certain things that bother me due to compulsions or as a kind of weird way of taking control of my brain𓈒 hopefully this makes sense but i struggle a lot with eloquently wording things and with descriptions so not sure𓈒 ૮꒰ ˃̣̣̥△˂̣̣̥ ꒱ა

little greg hirsch x carer tom wambsgans headcanons …

greg is very clingy when it comes to being little. he’s always wants tom to hold him, hear his voice. as long as tom is in his line of sight, the little guy’s fine.

greg’s reg age is 0-5, but he mostly stays in the middle. but tom loves when greg is at his smallest, it brings out the best in him.

greg’s always asking tom for “uppies” very timidly, and tom is always willing to hold his baby close to his chest.

tom had the idea to make a nursery/playroom at his apartment for greg. and greg thought it was so cool, he could spend the night without having to go home and be big, plus shiv was totally fine with it.

since greg’s father was never around, tom was that father figure for greg. now he’s finally “daddy’s little boy.”

greg calls tom “tommy” mostly, and “daddy/dada” when he’s feeling a bit smaller. the first time greg said it, he was so embarrassed, not even wanting to look at tom. but tom just gave him a kiss of reassurance, letting greg know he wasn’t mad at all.

tom calls him all sorts of grossily cute nicknames, but his favorite of all is “greggy.” he even calls him that when greg’s big.

tom has many pictures on greg and mondale in his phones of course. both of his best boys!!!

tom loves reading to greg, and just talking him to sleep. greggy drooling and softly snoring against his daddy is tom’s heaven.

greg also likes to steal tom’s things so he always has his daddy by his side.

“greggy, do you know where daddy’s favorite pocket square went?” and greg’s immediately shaking his head like he’s innocent, but tom knows he has it, and just wears another one.

greg uses a teether mostly instead of a paci, he really likes the gel key ones ^-^

tom has “daddy and greggy” lunchtime in his office sometimes, and there hasn’t been a day where greg hasn’t asked for a bite (or two) of tom’s sandwich.

greg likes watching soft, under-stimulating shows while tiny. they just put him straight to sleep. until mondale’s licking his face until he’s awake 20 minutes later.

tom usually teases greg playfully when he’s feeling a little fussy, but when he knows the boy is about to have a full blown meltdown, he’s always swift to de-escalate the situation, giving greg his comfort things and giving him and big ol’ hug with some words of encouragement. “it’s okay to cry, greggy. daddy’s got you.” tom ends up with a wet spot on the shoulder of his $459 knitted sweater, but he doesn’t care. he loves his boy too much to care.
