@amandapearls , @lulufoxlainfawn , and I have been holding onto this commission for so long we’ve been dying to share it. We’re so excited to share this GORGEOUS artwork of Elain and Lucien. We wanted to show Elain and Lucien happily mated and just having a nice peace day together. Plus sometimes a girl just wants to be carried by her mate 🥹🥹
Paola Pieretti.art blew us away with this beautiful art! Seriously we screeched with happiness when we saw this art. Thank you so much Paola Pieretti.art for creating this amazing artwork. It’s always a pleasure to work with you! The way you portray emotion so well in your artwork is exceptional!

Ah this is so lovely. Little Lulu got a puppy! Eris has a soft spot for him. Poor LoA, thinking how their life could be like this without Beron. 😭❤️
40. Pet and Lady of Autumn 😉
Thank you for the prompt agh! I got a little ahead of myself.
40. Pet—Lady of Autumn for this micro-fic ask game!
Eris strolled into the High family parlor with a new puppy in his hand and his sword hanging from his hip. The puppy was maybe a month old and was still a tiny little thing, with a fawn brindle coat that resembled the loamy forest floor.
Lady Bievve knew it was a runt. Usually, such puppies were drowned minutes after birth, even with how rare the smokehound breed was. New stock had to be flawless to maintain the breed's superior status, so any sort of insufficiencies were snuffed out at delivery, even if it was something as simple as a slightly smaller nose or a shorter tail.
But Eris had kept her. The tiny glimpse of compassion from her eldest son brought a wave of love to Bievve's heart. The puppy's eager little feet kicked and struggled against Eris' firm grip, and its big round eyes stared at the world with wonder.
Her eldest son strolled over to the two-year-old Lucien and stooped down, the dog wriggling and yipping in his arms. "You wanna go for a walk, Lu?" he asked. "You can help me train your new puppy." His voice did not change from its deep, crooning timber: he had always talked to his toddler siblings as if they were fully grown males.
The toddler nodded and grinned, setting down the stuffed fox toy he had been playing with. "Short walk with doddie."
"Go ask mum if she wants to come with."
Lucien wobbled onto his little legs and trotted over to her with a grin. "D'you wanna go'on walk, mumma?" he asked eagerly, mimicking his older brother with his little toddler cadence.
Lady Bievve lowered her sewing and smiled down at him, but she couldn't help but glance at Beron. He sat in his armchair still, his brown eyes burning into Lucien with unbridled dislike.
By the fucking Mother, how she hated how he hovered over her youngest son. She hated the disgust and suspicion in his gaze. Her heartbeat shuddered and quickened, and she felt the urge to scoop up her toddler and run, to maybe even burn down Beron in his ugly armchair until he was nothing but a soot stain on the carpet.
But she forced herself to smile. "A quick walk," she told Lucien, who squealed with joy as she lifted him into her arms. "We'll just go to the southern courtyard," she added, nodding to her husband.
Beron said nothing at first. The atmosphere changed to a dark, heavy brume, like the High Lord's aversion thickened into a physical thing. He glanced at his eldest son and the squirming, yipping puppy. "You're giving that thing to the boy, Eris?"
Eris didn't flinch at his father's sneer. "I thought the creature suited him," he replied, his voice casual and his eyes carefully guarded.
It was the perfect answer: Beron sneered at the runt before jutting his head to the door. With her heart pounding and eyes focused ahead, Bievve followed Eris out the door with her toddler safe in her arms.
---
Lady Bievve didn't know which of Eris' weapons were sharper: his tongue or his sword. He used the latter more often in duels, but he kept his sword hanging from his belt at all times. It was a symbol of his power and prestige, and Bievve swore it made him taller and colder, though she knew he still remained the same no matter what weapon he wielded.
But something in the male softened when he was with Lucien. Lucien, who had just turned two and finally found his feet, who was all sunshine and smiles and laughter…Eris was always good with children, but he was careful to keep his love hidden from Beron, who would rip it apart at first sight.
They were freer when they left the Forest House. They were safer.
Bievve strolled down the cobblestone path of the southern courtyard, watching her two sons walk ahead of her. She couldn't help but notice that her eldest son's belt was empty of his usual weapon. He had unclipped his scabbard and leaned it up against a sycamore tree at the entrance of the courtyard.
We are safe. We are safe out here.
Eris held Lucien's hand as they walked together. The light from the sun set the crimson of their hair ablaze, and for a moment, Bievve was struck by how much younger Eris looked, holding his little brother's hand and his belt absent of his sword's weight.
The puppy bounded between the two of them, her oversized ears flopping happily. Lucien wobbled and squealed as she nipped playfully at his ankles. As his usual impatient toddler self, Lucien tugged away from his older brother's hold and ran after the puppy with his arms outstretched. They bounded together, dancing and kicking at the autumn grass until the two-year-old tripped and fell. The puppy immediately leaped at the opportunity to tackle him and drown him with kisses.
Lucien's squealing brought a smile to Bievve's face. With eager hands, Lucien reached out to the puppy and grabbed at her floppy ears. Eris quickly stopped him, rolling his eyes.
"No, no. Pet her gently."
Eris knelt and grasped Lucien's chubby hand to help him stroke the puppy's fur more gently. Lucien patiently watched, his russet eyes bright and filled with laughter.
A wave of peace swept over Bievve, and she felt as if she could break down and weep.
Is this what the universe would be like if they had won? If this House were not a prison, but a home for all of them? It was an unfamiliar, almost overwhelming feeling, but she let it sweep over her as she watched her two sons. Lucien, the rambunctious little toddler, beamed up at his older brother, showing off his baby teeth…and Eris, free of his sword's weight, looked down and smiled back.

Listen I know we love to applaud Lucien for being respectful of Elain right now and all that but I'm still holding out hope that we eventually get a kind-of-ass-hole-Lucien. Like obviously not to the point his character sucks, but I do want for him (and Elain) to become unhinged at some point.
Basically I need him to give Elain a reason to slap him in the face in the heat of the moment like I need air ok
#i still support classy regency elucien but also i want them to throw their manners and politeness to the wind#elucien#lucien vanserra#elain archeron

I think one of the most interesting and overlooked moments between Lucien and Feyre is when they are escaping to Night through Autumn and they have this exchange:
"They didn't like you?" His jaw tightened. "As the youngest of seven sons, I wasn't particularly needed or wanted. Perhaps it was a good thing. I was able to study for longer than my father allowed my brothers before shoving them out the door to rule over some territory within our lands, and I could train for as long as I liked, since no one believed I'd be dumb enough to kill my way up the long list of heirs. And when I grew bored with studying and fighting.....I learned what I could of the land from its people. Learned about the people, too." He eased to his feet with a groan, his unbound hair glimmering as the midday sun overhead set the blood and wine hues aglow. "I'd say that sounds more High Lord-like than the life of an idle, unwanted son" A long, steely look "Did you think it was mere hatred that prompted my brothers to do their best to break and kill me?" Despite myself, a shudder rippled down my spine. I finished off the apple and uncoiled to my feet, plucking another off a low-hanging branch. "Would you want it-your father's crown?" "No one's ever asked me that," Lucien mused as we moved on, dodging fallen, rotting apples. The air was sticky sweet. "The blood-shed that would be required to wear that crown wouldn't be worth it. Neither would its festering court. I'd gain a crown-only to rule over a crafty, two faced people." "Lord of Foxes" I said, snorting as I remembered that mask he'd once worn. -ACOWAR (page 106)
I feel like this exchange is telling us a lot about who Lucien is. Honestly I think people should pay a lot more attention to the entire escape from Spring chapters than they do, because I think Lucien is being his most honest and open and vulnerable with Feyre than he ever is in ACOTAR and the rest of the series.
But this exchange is particularly interesting.
Lucien was allowed to learn sword fighting for as long as he liked. Feyre mentions that Lucien prefers to use his words over his swords, but this shows that Lucien has studied swordplay extensively and that he only stopped because he grew bored with it (along with studying). We know Lucien is alot more handy with a sword then he often lets on-Feyre also notes she's seen him training with Tamlin in Spring before, with the insinuation that she found him to be able to hold his own with a High Lord that was raised in the war camps. This also is led credence by the fact that Lucien was able to behead Hyburn's niece who was over a thousand years old and had fought in the original war, cutting through her neck in a single strike. He was also able to dodge Hybrun's nephew. And in the infamous frozen lake scene, Lucien is noted to be fighting two brothers at once, and has somehow wrested a sword. Just because Lucien is uninterest in fighting in another war, and just because he seems keen always to avoid using violence to solve problems, that doesn't mean he's not dangerous when he chooses to be.
Lucien's brothers saw him as a threat despite him also saying "no one thought I would be stupid enough to try and kill my way up the long list of heirs". Lucien had won the love of the people, and that scared his brothers enough that they wanted him not just dead but ruined.
Lastly Lucien's retort to Feyre's question about his father's crown has always kind of piqued my interest. He seems almost surprised "No one's ever asked me that" and then he doesn't immediately disavow ruling. He ponders her question, and then replies that no, Autumn court has no appeal to him. But his reply, alongside with the fact that he never refutes her statement that he acted like a High Lord in his youth could have some interesting implications about his own ambitions.
I do think it's obvious Lucien plays down alot of what he is. He doesn't even use magic all that much, outside of healing and winnowing, and as mentioned above he only uses violence as a last resort and even then he may downplay how skilled he is.
SJM has been showing us in little glimpses that there is waaaay more to Lucien, and has also been showing us that everyone keeps overlooking him when they shouldn't. Feyre thinks Cassian could knock Lucien on his ass, and yet we see she was wrong about Cassian when Lucien high lord commands and dominates him as easily as breathing. They send Lucien off on a suicide mission in lands deemed too dangerous for even the strongest High Lord in Prythian history and never stop to truly think about the fact that Lucien made it through those lands and completed his mission. Lucien slips out to the library shortly after arriving in Night Court and later we find out he's pulled one over Rhys and Feyre without them even considering being suspicious of him or his motives.
There is so much to his seemingly "side character" and I can't wait to hear more about the Lord of Foxes.

45! ❤️🔥
For the micro story ask game!
45. Svelte (Definitely had to google what that meant lmao)
For Helion and LoA:
Helion spotted her amongst the crowd almost immediately. Next to Beron stood the Lady of Autumn, her cream and gold dress standing out amongst the Day Court's opulent jewel-covered robes. Her ruby curls spilled down her shoulders as a wave of elegant curls and waves and an assortment of gold bangles and rings decorated her thin wrists and hands, which she clasped in front of her skirts in quiet submission. Beron held a chalice of wine instead of his wife's hand, though his ownership was evident in his narrow, haughty glare at those who gathered around the two of them.
She looked so formal next to him. So quiet and withdrawn. She was nothing like the female he had met so many decades ago, when the War was on the horizon and the Vanserra family desperate to add power to their name before the battle broke out.
But something flickered in her amber eyes as she met Helion's gaze. The corners of painted lips tilted upwards slightly, barely noticeable to anyone else besides him, but enough to break that quiet, submissive composure and reveal a glimpse of the female he had met so many decades ago.
A spark shot through Helion's chest, and he couldn't help but smirk and lift his chalice in greeting. Gods, how her svelte figure sang to him. He felt the urge to push through the insignificant cluster of courtiers and go to her, to take her hands in his, to maybe even slide his hands down her slender waist…he would undress her of Beron's jewels and bangles as the Autumn High Lord watched, taking his time to slip off one ring at a time and place a kiss on her freed knuckles. She is mine, and I am hers.

May is Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and Hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) awareness month. I thought to make a little post about it, especially because this topic has been in my mind more than usual this year. I have HSD myself and I don't (at least currently) meet the criteria for Hypermobile EDS. I keep seeing only EDS mentioned in the internet but reality is that not everyone who has hypermobility issues meets the strict criteria for EDS. HSD keeps getting overlooked and I felt for the longest time like I didn't really have anything wrong since it's not EDS. That's not true, and joint problems in HSD can be just as difficult as in EDS.
I physically over exhausted myself at the beginning of the year and I started to have pain all over my body. First it was my knee and big toe joint, then my hip, then my fingers, then my thumb dislocated, then my lower back started hurting... I haven't been able to exercise much and I'm totally out of shape since something is always hurting. I went to a doctor who once again diagnosed me with hypermobility syndrome which is especially severe in my fingers. I've been seeing specialists this year and got custom made insoles (which have helped a lot!) and after a long process I got ring splints for my fingers just yesterday.

They look like cool jewellery and I'm very excited about them! They prevent my fingers from hyperextending which can easily lead to osteoarthritis. My fingers have been hurting even when I type or use my phone. It affects my job and obviously quality of life too. I'm getting used to these now and I should start to use them daily. People will probably be curious about them when I go out wearing them. I don't think I've ever seen someone wear these IRL either.
You can learn more about HSD and EDS on The Ehlers-Danlos society's page. You can also donate to research on their page. There's still a lot we don't know about this syndrome, and even the diagnostic criteria will likely change in the future. It's also very interesting how HSD and EDS are much more common with people who have ADHD and/or Autism. I'm very curious to see what researchers will find out in the future.

Hello!🥰 We (me,eluciensversion,_lady_autumn__) are happy to show you our commission with the most amazing and heartbreaking family! Firstly, we want to thank @lucychanart for creating this amazing piece with Helion,Lucien, and Eris as a fun family portrait, I couldn't have imagined it any better, like I said . There are very few fanarts with Eris and Lucien, and none with Helion and them together, so we had this idea where all them 3 are together 🙏🏻🤎🤎 And of course I want to thank my girls Madeline and Bria for the cooperation ,I can't express how happy I am working with you two 🥹🥹!! HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY to you,Madeline. I wish you the best!!! 🥰✨️
Bria: Happy Birthday to one of my favorite people. @eluciensversion!!!!
We love you!!!
If Helion, Eris, and Lucien had a fourth in their circle, it’d be you Madeline you are charming, fiery, and loyal in all the best ways. Hope your day is as magical as this art @cupofkaveh drew for us 😌
Thank you again, @lucychanart, for making this gorgeous piece for us 💛 always so talented!!!

The Next Gen Kiddos
The wonderful @luciensdefenseattorney made my dreams come true. Here are Nyx, Cricket, Froggy, and Ori in their official portraits.

I cannot thank @luciensdefenseattorney enough for this. She was a dream to work with! It’s like she went directly into my brain and took the kiddos out. Every item in their portraits are directly from my writing and headcannons! Nyx’s wood carvings, Ori’s cat Pudding, Cricket’s horseshoes and Froggy’s books! I hope you love them as much as I do!
Go to @luciensdefenseattorney for all your commission needs!
And check out all my writing and fics for the kiddos HERE and HERE!
And meet the kiddos behind the cut!

Nyx, the golden boy of Velaris. He loves his parents, cousins, and architecture. He loves his books and models and he loves carving little wooden animals for his loved ones. An adventurer at heart, he wants to explore the skies.

Cricket, Elain and Lucien's eldest daughter. A child of the Day Court, she'd rather be riding horses with her grandfather or playing pranks with her cousin Nyx. She's the defacto leader of the group, with all of her father's courage, her grandfather's humor, her mother's looks, and her Uncle Eris's brains.

Froggy, Elucien's second born daughter! While she's a prodigy and scholar that the Day Court is proud of, it's her mastery of the Autumn Flame that has her Uncle Eris declare her as the defacto heir to the Autumn Court. (in her Autumn Court gown) But Froggy has no time for politics! She prefers to study and play with her smokehound, Brigid. Named after the first fae in Autumn to wield fire.

and last, but certainly not least it's the little Illyrian Princess herself, Orianna! Ori loves many things, her Mama and Papa, glitter, dancing, the library, and her cat Pudding. She's the heir of the House of the Wind, the trusted assistant to the Priestesses of the Library, and the little Princess of the Night Court. She loves to play with her cousins, train to be a Valkyrie, and do her librarian duties. And she's the star of the Velaris Children's Choir that her Aunt Gwyn and Uncle Az lead. Maybe soon they'll give her a new baby cousin to play with!

As a mother reading romance/fantasy, LoA is SO important to me.
Everywhere I look, there’s dead mothers in the hero’s backstory. Dead mothers without names and tragic lives. No personalities, no impact to the plot, no substance for me to look inside and see my motherhood experience reflected back. Nothing to offer the narrative except grief or pain.
But with Lady of Autumn? There’s a chance. There’s finally a chance for a gripping, inspiring story.
I need her to be a loving, devoted mother. I need her to be the last saving grace keeping her sons together against the brutality of Beron. I need to see the immense strength it took to sacrifice her own mating bond to protect her children. I need to see an example of an older mother with adult children still getting her own epic romance—because she is worthy of love even after all those years spent protecting her flesh and blood over her own happiness. I need to see her play a pivotal, political role in Beron’s takedown as High Lord. I need to see her love her sons despite the moments they are cruel, selfish, or ugly from their father’s influence. I need to see more examples of how a mother’s fierce, unconditional love has teeth. I need to see her children be better because of it—that her love has the power to change the world and its fate. I need to see LoA transform from tragedy to heroine.
Mothers need the representation. Motherhood needs the representation. Show me love conquers all. I need it.
#lady of autumn#loa#helion x lady of autumn#sjm please don’t just have all the good mothers be dead and forgotten#make her a survivor who gets her hea#good mothers are bad ass okay
