Post to gauge interest in a s2/s15 Doctor Who community write project!
Hi all!! I've got ideas to run and create a community season of doctor who, picking up from episode 8 of s1 and basically writing the next season before it airs.
I'm looking for anyone who has any interest of getting involved, especially if you have episode plot ideas and would be interested in putting them to paper! Ideally looking for a 13 episode season, bound together with an overarching plot which me and a couple others would plot together (details under cut). All writers would be involved in this by adding this plot-line into their individual episodes too!
I'm looking to plan the overarching plot, and will be setting up a discord server for anyone to chat about it and get involved. If you want to join, feel free to reply to this post, follow me, or send me a message!
Under the cut for current ideas, to give an idea of the direction we'd like to take it.
Currently thinking of the overarching theme being family and how the Doctor finds his own. Mrs Flood is Susan, this links to the overarching plot of the season. The Meep's boss, the red finger-nailed hand that picked up the golden tooth in The Giggle - all coming together to be explained through Susan/Mrs Flood.
Companions are likely to be Rose Noble (and we are thinking Clyde from SJA, whether he will join halfway through the season or not. Still debating ideas!)
We are wanting to bring Martha back, as she will be heading up the new Biomedical branch of UNIT. (Might be how Clyde gets involved, as Martha is able to use Luke as an example of how alien life can be saved and cared for on Earth.)
Looking for an episode involving Rogue too, perhaps linking to the new boss he mentioned (same as the meeps? Susan?)

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Sanctuary (Canada TV 2008) Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Helen Magnus/Nikola Tesla Characters: Helen Magnus, Nikola Tesla Summary:
There were times when his Victorian formated brain would reemerge without notice. A little sense of panic sending his heart racing before he would remind himself that social conventions had been loosened and that Helen was perfectly free to wear what she wanted.

helen/nikola: marriage of convenience?
(AU where Helen cannot cryogenically freeze an embryo somehow in the 1800s. Everything else is roughly the same.)
-
She doesn't walk into it with gritted teeth and white knuckles; it isn't a prison, but the only kind of freedom left for her, and she welcomes it with open arms (there's a child growing inside her, and all too soon she will show; if there isn't a ring on her finger before then, her reputation will be in tatters, and no one will trust her enough to let her help them).
They all offered, of course; Nikola, James, and even dear Nigel, bless his heart. He'd looked uncomfortable as could be, but he'd squared his shoulders and quietly proposed, ever the loyal friend.
But she couldn't condemn him to such a fate, and James... Marrying James wouldn't be freedom, not really. He'd want her to be safe, especially now, with this child (her child; John's child. James would keep the little one in a bubble, utterly protected from the world). It's sweet, and it's noble, and perhaps a part of her even wishes she could accept it, could let herself be swept away to a tower and protected from all the dangers (there is, perhaps, a damsel in distress buried deep in her soul, one who wishes a knight in shining armor would have swept her away before John could break her heart so thoroughly).
Those small parts, though, are nothing compared to the whole of her: she is a doctor, a scientist, one who must run headfirst into every new adventure. She'd go mad in the life James would give her.
Nikola, though... He's as reckless as her (perhaps even moreso), and has no reservations about her running to danger rather than fleeing it. He only pouts if she doesn't bring him along, and even then, it comes from a desire for his own adventure, not a notion that he ought to protect her (he has protected her, as the need arose, but he never treated it any differently than her protecting him).
So she'll marry him, because she needs a husband. It may not be romantic, but they'll be partners (and frankly, it doesn't sound so terrible to not face the world alone).
And if sometimes his gaze lingers on her a little too long, soft and adoring-if sometimes she never wants him to look away-it's nothing. A natural side effect of spending so much time in close quarters with someone so (though she'd never admit it allowed) attractive. It means nothing.
She'll marry him, she'll be loyal to him, but that's the end of it. She certainly isn't going to fall in love with him.
