Yuki can’t keep up much with how fast Weston is talking, her mind filled with concern for her guardian. Still, she can tell he’s trying to cheer her up and comfort her.

“You’ll stay?” Yuki asks, feeling a little better knowing that she won’t be alone. Apparently, she still has to wait a very long time until then— count to 2000?! That would take forever, and she doesn’t really know if she can, even with 100 on her math test.

“Umm, I can’t count that high…” Yuki says sadly, picking at a loose thread in Juliyah’s comforter.

“Um, Wes-tin, does Juliyah say I’m a good girl?” She asks, sounding nervous but hopeful. “Oh, um, are you scared of wolves? I’m a wolf too. Did Juliyah say I’m a good wolf?”

Yuki looks around the house, still unfamiliar with it, still feeling strange and small. Taking the phone, she goes to Juliyah's room and climbs onto the bed, sitting there, looking out the window. Yuki doesn't really understand what Weston is talking about, but it makes her stomach feel like she ate something bad and has to throw up.

"Um. Okay." She replies quietly, usually such a chatty little girl, now quiet with anxiety. "Do you think we can yell together? I'm really loud, a-and maybe he can hear both of us." Yuki says, her voice starting to warble with tears.

"Do you think he'll stop hiding soon? I wanna show him my maths test. I got 100."

"Woooow..." Yuki looks at the beautiful piece, and is careful not to move or touch it because it's made of glass. She grins and looks at the seashells, remembering that her and Mira collected them earlier in the summer.

"Oooh, a friend for Blue!" Yuki gets up from the floor and runs to her room, where the plushie that Vanth won for her sits on her bed. She places the sparrow next to it.

Yuki sits and opens the big box, gasping when she sees the pretty dress and accessories.

"Wow..." Yuki mutters, gently touching the delicate fabrics. She looks at the note, but can't read it, so she stands up and runs to the kitchen where Juliyah probably is.

"JULIYAAAAAAAAAH I got a dress and a card!! Can I wear it to school tomorrow?"

Yuki gasps and buries her face in the sunflowers, taking a big sniff.

"Thank you for the flowers Chara!" She grins, but it turns to a look of confusion as she tilts her head.

"New dad?" She asks, and a small pout appears on her lips. "I only have one dad, he's gone now but he's still my dad. Are you talkin' about Juliyah?" Yuki tilts her head the other way, like a dog trying to hear a strange noise.

"Juliyah is Juliyah, silly!"

Together, Yuki and Juliyah manage to make short work of digging-- especially with the wolf girl on the job. When she sits down and looks at it, it more just looks like a hurricane went through the garden... but whatever! She's sure it'll be fine!

"Okay, then you gotta put umm. Seeds!" Sh trots over to the plastic bag and bites the bottom, dumping all of the seed packets out. She paws through them until she gets to the potatoes.

"Here! Umm, huh. They look different." She sits again, ear flicking in confusion. She's used to seed potatoes rather than packets of seeds.

"Hmmmm... I think it's the same? We growed some colly-flowers and stuff too from little seeds like this, I think." Yuki says, leg raising to scratch her ear.

"Look at you go," Juliyah says with an amused laugh. Seriously, she's hard at work! It's a good thing Yuki knows something about gardening.

"You'll have to teach me as we go. I know nothing about garden and growing stuff." Now, hunting and scavenging for goods? He was excellent at that.

Picking up a shovel, he starts assisting, following her lead.

He doesn't know where the ice cream is? What! How was Yuki supposed to know where the ice cream is! She's 6! Furrowing her brows in thought, Yuki tries to think of some ice cream shop she's been to, but they all sort of blur together and she never paid attention to where it was.

Aha! She can smell it out! Grinning, Yuki beckons Will.

"I can smell for one, so you gotta follow me fast!" And just like that, the little girl turns into a little wolf.

She sniffs the air, and while she doesn't get any ice cream scent, she can smell where food is. Where there is food, there is likely ice cream! With an excited yip, Yuki starts running in bursts, stopping to sniff every now and again, and then running some more.

will tries his best to conceal the laughter that threatens to spill out from his lips - not because he finds the frustration and sadness of a kid who just lost a thing they held dear entertaining, of course, but rather because her attitude reminds will of his youngest daughter. around her height and age, she'd been disturbingly similar to yuki in a myriad of ways - when she felt sad, it was deeply, though she smiled like noone other. it was a delight when she chuckled, when she found something to be happy about as small as a butterfly, and it's a trait he can find in yuki now.

" okay, okay! " he says and looks around, endlessly entertained. " well, i mean - i don't ever get icecream, you might have to tell me where we can get the best one in town! " he bows forward, beckoning her to walk in front of him. " lead the way. "

"Mmm, okay." Yuki sits back down in the seat, because her mom would always tell her to sit down on the bus going to school. The magic word has been uttered, however, and Yuki looks at Eiden with big eyes.

"I want onigiri. I want tuna mayo!" Yuki says excitedly, bouncing in her seat. She's so excited for the food, that the question about her ears almost goes unheard-- but then she also remembers her mama said not to show her ears to people because they would get scared.

"Nuh uh. I'm a little girl not a doggy." Yuki lies, but then remembers her mom also said lying is bad. Darn. "Um. Yeah. I'm not a doggy cause I'm a wolf. But it's a secret because people are scared. Are you scared Ei-ten?"

" Not long! " Eiden notes, " if you're patient the time might even be shorter who knows! "

It's a mystery - Eiden can't make time go faster but he can keep the kid busy with thoughts and things. Also, he's still got asking to do! The ears hadn't slipped from his mind!

" Have you eaten today yet? We could buy something to eat while we wait to get there - like - onigiris? I wonder if the train service sells them! " he starts, " also, there's something I'm curious about - I saw you having some kind of dog ears a while ago. They looked pretty cool! "

"Oh!" Yuki stands up and dusts off her dress before running up to Hawks. "Hi Bird Man. I forgot your name." She says, climbing halfway up the fence to lean over.

"You got go-ceries?" She leans and tries unsuccessfully to peer into one of the bags. "I'm just waitin' for Juliyah to finish work. Do you know Juliyah? I live with him now and we have a garden in the back yard. We're growing potatoes." Yuki says, going off on a tangent as kids tend to do.

"I don't really have time right now...Do you want me to call somebody for you?"

The fact that she buys it makes Weston exhale in relief even as he adds another black mark against Juliyah. First teasing him 'bout kissing, now fooling around with little kids--he was gonna thrash him the next time they met.

Pizza...pepperoni...okay... Tapping his order into the app, Weston adds a few other things to his cart before running to catch the next train. Fortunately, Fibonacci's right next door to Cotes, so getting to Jules' place shouldn't take long. Maybe he'd even beat the pizzaman.

"Well...when grown-ups play hide-and-seek, we got too many places to hide, yeah? I could yell my head off and I dunno if he'd hear. He's somewhere on this island though---his name's still in the contacts list."

"Y'know, Juliyah's been tellin' me all 'bout you. I've been meanin' to visit, but things have been busy...why don't we call this our first Meetin' Day or something? You okay with that?"

He's not sure if he's talking too much, but it sounds better than letting the silences stretch on. Maybe it'd keep her worried little head occupied, dunno...
