I was leaving the city to return to my host family in the village. The truck had to sell a ticket for every seat before leaving and I was there early. I said goodbye to my lover before they left me to go to the supermarket. I didn’t feel like I properly told her goodbye so I took off running down the main road which at the time was a rugged and wide dirt path. I remember running so fast my heart that it felt like my heart was in my throat. As I got to the supermarket and saw her, little was said, I just walked up to her and kissed her. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. And I made it back in time just to get home.

Describe your artistry and what you chose or would choose for it to represent:
As of right now there’s a playfulness but sophistication that seems to increase in presence the more I’m made aware of the space available for me to work with. My perspective as a child was very narrowly focused on me and what was right in front of me. I was often encouraged by many, educators and those that don’t identify as such, to see beyond my limited view but the young developing mind did not want to budge. From an early age, my attention was drawn to the opposite sex. Girls and women have always been fuel or what I’d assume is the source of my inspiration. If not women, then my fear of death and personal lack of knowledge on the topic of God and spirituality. I do assume a great deal of the inspiration came from local heroes. Hometown heroes that complete neighborly tasks in an environment that isn’t always welcoming to the act of being neighborly. But the playfulness yet sophistication. The reassured confidence yet curiosity pertaining to my sexuality.
Overall, I’d like my work to represent peace, rest, relaxation, bliss, unconstrained, boundlessness, tranquility.
