Planting Things
Any time I can get a new thing planted in my yard it is a victory for me. In the brown out where I live any piece of living green is a blessing. A month of so ago I bought 4 containers of arundo donex bamboo to make a living fence. So yesterday we got the 2nd pot of that planted.
Then today my house cat woke me up too early so I watered the garden out back. I try to remember to always take one thing out there with me and bring one thing back to make the most of the walk. So I took out a dwarf statue that’s been sitting in a box for 2 years and brought back a Mexican Bird of Paradise plant.
I dug up a dead rose in the front yard and replaced it with the Mexican Bird of Paradise plant. So I count that two things finished (the bamboo yesterday and the Bird of Paradise today). I don’t know why I let that dead rose sit there so long. It took me twenty minutes to replace it with something living.

Gray Sweater
My goal is to finish one thing per day. It can be finishing a craft project or finishing a library book. I want to feel the satisfaction of finishing something I’ve started.
Today I finally mended the pocket on one of my favorite sweaters. Now I can wear it again without worrying about putting something in it and having the thing fall out. “A stitch in time saves nine.” Mending is simple and yet so hard to get around to sometimes. But if you want to save money on your wardrobe, it pays to fix things.

The Frustration of Unfinished Projects
The great satisfaction of finishing something is lost when a project or a goal isn’t ever finished. I hope to have more satisfying moments by listing the things I’ve finished on this blog. Wish me luck. I am late for work already. I’ll add more later.
