helldivers are basically teenagers hopped up on combat meth and patriotic vitriol and have like 20 minutes of training. they're not elite soldiers, they're what Super Earth throws at a wall until everything on the wall is dead

Looking at the wider helldivers community is wild because I think most of those people are uh, falling for the in universe propaganda in thinking that helldivers are super special and the elite of the elite.

The regular AI controlled soldiers really have made this worse because everyones like "look they're all incompetent" ignoring the fact they're controlled by AI and not capable of the same things a human player is. That and also they're shorter than helldivers which has lead some people to thinking HDs are enhanced super soldiers now even though it is very likely just for game design reasons
