Prayer is a sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the soul to God, through Christ, in the strength and assistance of the Spirit, for such things as God has promised.

One of the passengers aboard the Titanic was a godly Pastor from Scotland, by the name of John Harper. Harper had recently spent three months ministering at the Moody Church in Chicago. He had not been back in Britain long when he was asked to return. He quickly made arrangements for himself and his six-year old daughter, Nana, to return via the Titanic.
The Titanic struck the iceberg on April 14, 1912. Harper wrapped his daughter in a blanket, told her that she would see him again one day and watched her safely board one of the lifeboats. (She survived)
One survivor distinctly remembered hearing him shout, "Women, children and the unsaved into the lifeboats!" Harper knew that believers were ready to die but the unsaved were not ready. Harper then ran along the decks pleading with people to turn to Christ,he called upon the Titanic’s orchestra to play, "Nearer, my God, to Thee." Gathering people around him on deck, he then knelt down, and "with holy joy in his face" raised his arms in prayer. As the ship began to sink, he jumped into the icy waters and swam frantically to all he could reach, beseeching them to turn to the Lord Jesus and be saved. John Harper then sank into the depths and passed into the Lord’s presence; he was 39.
Four years later, a young Scotsman named Aguilla Webb stood up in a meeting in Hamilton, Canada, and gave the following testimony:
“I am a survivor of the Titanic. When I was drifting alone on a spar that awful night, the tide brought Mr. John Harper of Glasgow, also on a piece of wreck, near me. ‘Man,’ he said, ‘Are you saved?’ ‘No,’ I said, ‘I am not.’ He replied, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.’ The waves bore him away; but, strange to say brought him back a little later, and he said, ‘Are you saved now?’ ‘No,’ I said, ‘I cannot honestly say that I am.’ He said again, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,’ and shortly after he went down; and there, alone in the night, and with two miles of water under me, I believed. I am John Harper’s last convert.”

it is about the condition or intentions of the heart. It is God’s greatest concern, where is our heart at? Because if we treasure wealth over helping others, our hearts will move likewise.
For where our treasure is there our hearts will be also.
Matthew 6:21
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Proverbs 4:23
Lord, there have been several times where I was not aware of where my heart is at. In the busy flow of life, it is so easy to lose track of being intentional in every little aspect or detail of our lives. Help me to live a life intentionally seeking to pursue the good. Seeking your face. I want to get to a place where everything I say is agreeing with everything that is truly in my heart. Let everything that comes from my mouth be a reflection of the true condition of my heart, because so often I have seen my heart hasn’t gotten there, but my mouth has. Because as I think, so am I. Give me a clean heart and pure hands, oh God. I repent of such acts of not being true to what you have told me. Help me I want to change this heart for yours. I know it will not be easy, but your love is better than life, let my life be preserved in every promise you have spoken.
Thank you Jesus, my only good shepherd.
I lift you up, and all I want to do is stand to see look at you.
In Jesus name,
Amen.

"Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will."
- 2 Timothy 2:23-26

Do you not know that from the beginning of time, since man was placed on the earth, the triumph of the wicked has been brief, and the joy of the godless momentary?

Today I remembered how Jesus chose, hung out with, and trained up 12 messy, sinful, average underdogs (aka. the Apostles) who carried out His plan and preached the Gospel, shared His love, and made disciples in nations all over the world… and I thought about how flawed and average I feel sometimes, but how God can take what seems small, average, and unusable, and use it to change the world.
That really encouraged me.

I know a place we can go for awhile.
There’s rest for weary, hope for the broken-hearted, there is healing for the hurting, there is a peace that no storm can stop.
Let’s take it to Jesus, Yeshua.
Oh what a Great High Priest. He was tempted in all ways, yet He did not sin. So if he too was tempted just like we are, run to Him, He understands.
When you’re questions don’t have answers…
When the tears don’t stop running…
I remember singing this over myself in the deepest pit of darkness and depression. All I can do was sit there knowing that Jesus was there holding me together even when all I felt was that I was falling apart. I felt like piece by piece the clay pot was chipping off and I didn’t know it yet, but I didn’t have to because God knew what he was doing.
Even before I spoke a word, there he was:
Thy WORD ~ John 1:1-3
There was Jesus.
There he was holding me together in the palm of His hands and never did he let go even when I felt like I was slipping away.

She always challenged the norm
The status quo
The graves of religion
The manipulation of jezebel
The devastation of witchcraft
Strange
A trouble maker
Passionate
Otherworldly
Were the labels placed on her
She went hard after Jesus
Unmoved by trivial things
Her Kingdom assignment held
her gaze
Trained in the outskirts of the city
Demons tormented her
Witchcraft tried to take her out
Religion tried to bridle her
Her battle-axe is sharp
A weapon of war in Father’s hand
Heaven held her attention
A cloud of witnesses cheered
her on
Father’s presence was her home
In valleys low she was trained
In the presence of her enemies
she was stripped
Hell cannot contain her
Demons cannot stop her
Armed and dangerous
She is ready to root out and to pull down
To destroy and to throw down
To build and to plant
A new Era at hand
A bride awaken
Never again will the bride retreat
Forget her inheritance
Heaven has her back
She is ready to invade and occupy
every assignment given to her!

I stepped into a Jesus book store I remember this day and here I find a book. And as soon as I open a random page on the book, Jesus spoke to me. I was moved in the Spirit because that entire week I fixed my attention on reading John 4.
Jesus is asking of me and you “will you give me a drink?” Are we willing to pour out our lives like a drink offering? To give whatever we have to Jesus.
Lord Jesus I need you more of you. Help me to want you to help me. Help me not to lean on my own understanding, but to stand in the fullness of your grace and walk out your word. I need you so I may walk out in love, abiding and reflecting you Jesus every day more as I walk in this world.

When You said, "Seek My face," my heart said to You, "Your face, O LORD, I shall seek." Psalm 27:8
Many of us are after God’s hand, His provision and His blessing but the Psalmist David is going much farther—he is after God’s face. He wanted an intimate relationship with His LORD. Don’t let the demands that life brings keep you from what God is after. We want to be pragmatic and resolve our problems, but God wants us to know Him and, in the process, become more like Him. A relationship with God is much more than just changing our present situation, He wants to change us with His beauty…change us from glory to glory.

Because when every one looked away, you looked at me and said, everyone else has left, but here am I and neither do I condemn you. My eyes look on you with mercy because I love you. So go and sin no more. -Jesus (John 8) You see Jesus does not let us stay in our sin because he knows that it will result in the destruction of our lives. It will cause harm and destroy us from the inside out. Because he knows that it will lead us to experience shame, guilt, hurt, pain and that if only we would’ve listened to Him, we could have avoided it all. Just like the dead Lazarus in the tomb. You called him out of that tomb, out of the filthy and stench he was covered in and he came out. Yet nothing stopped him not even the bad odor he smelled from the tomb because he moved out of love he had for him. Because there is no sin too putrid, too ugly, too disgusting, too filthy that God cannot rescue and save us from. You see the image of the invisible God, Jesus Christ doesn’t turn his eyes away from us though we are covered in sin no, but he sees everything plainly and sees everything we are and everything we have done and will do. But he also not a God that will leave us in our filth, our sin, our disobedience because he knows that it reaps negative consequences upon our lives. Because he knows the farther we are from Him. So he told Lazarus come out of that tomb, come out of the grave. And the dead man came out with linen wrapped around him and cloth on his face. He was made alive to testify to the glory of God and to show many that it is He, JesusChrist that has the power to redeem lives. But still he had his grave clothes on Him right? Well just like when we start our walk with Christ we still walk with some things that must be pruned and removed out of us so we can walk closer to his heart and in freedom. Just the same goes with us. So little by little walking closer to Jesus, will we be renewed inwardly transformed daily as we surrender. But the steps we take towards Jesus, fixing our eyes on Jesus, will the grave clothes we once wore, be stripped piece by piece by the working power of the Holy Spirit in us. Because it is Holy Spirit deposited in us that works on our hearts and minds and transforms us be like Jesus. Jesus is alive! Alive living in us! Lazarus came alive, by the Word that called out his name. For the Word that spoke the ends of the earth into creation is likewise the Word that brought Lazarus up from dead and into a glorious light of life. Because Jesus is the light of life.
