Don't usually reblog random stuff, but this was my reminder to watch this in theaters, and this shall be your reminder to watch this!

You know it’s serious when hundreds of beavers is begging you to see the day the earth blew up.
Which you should, right now!!!

I recently joined a server full of creatives, and this week's prompt was A Strange Hotel. I decided to play with colors for this piece!
I call it "The Drowsy Dog"

Steel: You may have gotten past my daughter and granddaughter, but nothing gets past General Julius Steel of the US Army, so let me make this clear: the only rack you're getting at tonight is the best rack of barbecue ribs in the county.
Lance: ...What?
Steel: I'M SAYING HANDS OFF MY GRANDDAUGHTER! UNDERSTAND?
Kristin's Mom: Dad, quit intimidating Kristin's date and get back to the ribs!
Steel: Alright! You don't have to tell me twice! [muttering] You burn the ribs once and no one lets you live it down...
Dumb SBT Idea
I'm thinking about Lance being invited to a Dinner Party at Kristin's house...and having him learn General Steel is her grandfather.
Thankfully, Steel does not realize that Lance is one of the aliens, and is more concerned with this boy putting a move on his granddaughter.

SketchBook has split off from Autodesk, and while it's no longer free, it's still pretty darn cheap at a one-time purchase of around $20!
Can't afford art school?
After seeing post like this 👇
And this gem 👇
As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.
Here is the first one ART TEACHERS! There are plenty online and in places like youtube.
📺Here is my list:
Proko (Free)
Marc Brunet (Free but he does have other classes for a cheap price. Use to work for Blizzard)
Aaron Rutten (free)
BoroCG (free)
Jesse J. Jones (free, talks about animating)
Jesus Conde (free)
Mohammed Agbadi (free, he gives some advice in some videos and talks about art)
Ross Draws (free, he does have other classes for a good price)
SamDoesArts (free, gives good advice and critiques)
Drawfee Show (free, they do give some good advice and great inspiration)
The Art of Aaron Blaise ( useful tips for digital art and animation. Was an animator for Disney)
Bobby Chiu ( useful tips and interviews with artist who are in the industry or making a living as artist)
Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.
📚Here is my list:
The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.
As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are more expensive.
For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.
💻As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.
Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates)
Procreate ( pay once for $9.99)
Blender (for 3D modules/sculpting, ect Free)
PaintTool SAI (pay but has a 31 day free trail)
Krita (Free)
mypaint (free)
FireAlpaca (free)
Libresprite (free, for pixel art)
Those are the ones I can recall.
So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.
I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.
Hope this was helpful and have a great day.

Okay, so this thing is still in progress, and what's nailed down is basically Spoilers, but basically, Speed finds all the people in his home city turning into zombies (or, as he calls them, "ghouls") and has to find out what happened and how to cure them!
I'm calling the project "28 Miles Later", for lack of a better name...
What would you say if I said I had a Zombie Apocalypse story for Speed Racer?

Okay! Story under the cut, partially because of spooky content, but mostly due to the size of this thing:
This all started a decade or so ago, and I started wandering around the internet. During a Halloween bender of wandering, I came across an archive website with old versions of the Halloween Horror Nights websites, and I curiously took a peek.
Spoiler Alert: I got Spooked.
More importantly, though, the bits of lore and short blurbs on the houses scratched an itch for spooky stories the way one might tell scary stories around the campfire.
One haunted house that caught my attention was 2004's Disorientorium.
The blurb and the interactive page on the site painted this as a roadside attraction stating itself as "bungee-jumping for the mind", but was...very disorienting at best.
My curiosity got the better of me, and I tried my darndest to find it...to no avail.
From this, my imagination ran wild on this 2000s haunted house in a Halloween attraction I'd probably be too chicken to attend now, let alone back then.
The ideas started reasonable enough: Whirling tunnel:
Bizarre Mirror Maze:
And a Room with Multiple Eyes Staring Upon You:
It then went straight into wackier territory, including a Corridor of Doors with Random Rooms Behind Each Door:
And an "Infinity Bottom" Room with Colored Tiles Getting You to the Door:
(Spoiler Alert: it actually has a bottom; it's a ball pit)
Cut forward all the way to Last Halloween, and I decided to revisit the idea, so I hunted for info.
Lo and behold, in the time between, someone made a wiki for the event, but also got info and even a few pictures!
Disorientorium indeed had a whirling tunnel and a mirror maze...and nothing else of what I imagined.
What it did have was neon-painted walls with spooks camouflaged into them.
Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
Looking back, my idea for the darn thing was impossible from the start (I mean, come on! An Infinity Bottom room would be a nightmare to make, even with the hidden ball pit!). That said, with the lack of information, I ended up creating a version of a Haunted House that didn't exist, only to wind up disappointed with the few actual images of it.
And that's the tale about me accidentally assigning qualities to a thing that the thing did not have.
Gee, I didn't want a haunted house; I wanted MeowWolf
Hey Tumblr, wanna hear a tale about me accidentally assigning qualities to a thing that the thing did not have?

Opening Line Patterns
Tagged by @kageyuuki
Rules: List the first line of your last 10 (or however many you have) posted fics and see if there's a pattern!
-I'm awake! I'm awake.
Let's see what sort of pattern I have for starting my fics...
Archetype 101
Raz groaned as he leaned his head against the dorm room door.
A Gut Feeling
Dion, once again, couldn’t sleep that night.
Catching Cobblewhomps with Milk Tea
(Main Story Proper)
Lucrecia carefully poured the water into a medium pot, filling it halfway before placing a lid on it.
(Story with the Story)
Once upon a time, there was an innkeeper in a sleepy old town by the name of Mrs. Lavender.
Setting the Record (I should get back to that fic)
Lucrecia looked around the big, airy atrium of the Motherlobe, the new headquarters for the Psychonauts since she was gone.
Eggs on their Faces
Speed watched the road as he drove the Mach 5 through the city.
Empire State of Mind (I should get back to this one, too)
The sound of crickets chirped through the night.
I'm gonna cheat for this next bit and grab from WIPs:
Working Title: Nono
"...What on Earth is that?" Ford said as he and Compton took a look at the flatiron-looking gadget on Otto Mentallis's desk.
Deer in the Headlights
“Mr. Ferno didn’t!”
Wow, I thought I had more opening lines
Conclusions:
Aside from "I need to work on these more often?" and "I have too many WIPs?" Most of my earlier fics started with a character, while later ones experimented a lot more.
I also noticed the first thing I tend to write in a fic is not the opening lines, but the first bit of dialogue that comes to mind.
Tag time! I don't know a lot of writers who haven't already been tagged, but I'm tagging @boom-fanfic-a-latta and @ahimaysokamu! Might also poke some Discord mutuals later on.
Hope you enjoyed!

I apologize for disappearing only to come back with yet another fandom, but I had gotten into a Sym-Bionic Titan mood and noticed something in the episode "Shaman of Fear":
Ilana's fear dealt with the Future, and as such she was affected most by the Shaman's visions, thinking that Galaluna has fallen amd her father had died
In contrast, Lance's fear dealt with the Past, and while he was still very much affected by the visions, he ultimately recognizes the visions are not reality and not only snapped out of it but helped Ilana snap out of it too.
Meanwhile, Octus is grounded in the Present, and is not affected by the Shaman or his illusions (probably due to his inorganic nature)
Don't know what else to say other than I thought it was neat...
