All personal and professional growth begins with your mindset, because it has a direct impact on how you view adversity and evaluate new opportunities. Ask yourself which mindset you’re in, right now. Are you focused on what is—or what could be? And which mindset do you adopt when you’re at your best?

Quote
We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.

Many of us have lost the confidence to speak our truth somewhere along the way. For some it might be due to a serious trauma, but for others it’s more of a subtle progression. We slowly start to doubt ourselves and begin valuing the opinions of others over our own. As difficult and eye-opening as the outpouring of #MeToo posts over the last two weeks has been, those posts are great reminders of the power that each of us possess whenever we find the courage and conviction to speak our truth.

November is one of our favorite months. It’s when we’re most focused on giving thanks to those around us and expressing gratitude for the things that matter most in our lives. Big things like deep and meaningful relationships, our health and the health of our loved ones – or a thriving career or passion that fills our cup and gives us purpose. But it’s the little things that often have the biggest impact on our outlook and mindset. Sometimes, though, we get so caught up in day-to-day life that we fail to notice those little things. The crisp fall temps, your favorite sweater, that piece of Halloween candy (sorry, kids!), a good night’s sleep. While there’s plenty of research on the benefits of developing an attitude of gratitude, it’s a practice that can easily slip from top of mind as we run from task to task. This month, we encourage you to slow down and focus on what is there, rather than what isn’t. Don’t just think about it – write it down! It doesn’t have to be written in a fancy gratitude journal (although we do love those) or posted on social media, but both those tools can help keep you accountable while also reinforcing the power that comes with focusing on the positive. We'll get it started! Today we are grateful for this community of growth-minded individuals who recognize that Strength Starts Within. We’re continuing to evolve Fit Within in an effort to help more people find happiness and create meaningful, long-lasting change in their lives. We hope you continue to join us on this journey – and even more importantly, we hope you can experience the power of gratitude throughout this month and well into the future!
