The Universe operates in cycles. Where does a cycle end and a new one begin? The wheel just keeps turning, and any attempt to identify a beginning and an end is artificial.

The calendar year is an artificial designation and not all cultures agree on its timing. The Celts began their year around the end of October. The Jewish calendar is Lunar, not Solar. Tibetan New Year is in February.

 

If Spirit is eternal, who is to say that birth into a body is a beginning? Some cultures believe that being born into a body is a type of death. Therefore, death of the body is a rebirth.  If your belief system includes reincarnation, then it’s all part of a larger cycle anyway.

Preoccupation with beginnings and endings is a trick of the negative ego to pull you out of being in the present. Endings and beginnings don’t matter. Where are you now? What is going on right now for you? What do you see? What do you hear? What do you taste? Are you warm or cold? What emotions are you experiencing in this moment? What are you struggling with? What do you accept? What can you do to change your current situation? 

Now you are present. Now you are real.
