#'are you comparing my failed marriage to our relationship?'#asks the man who has been comparing their relationship to a marriage for several seasons by this point#i've said this before but. obviously the only logical take here is. like. a 'you think i'm old enough to be her father?' situation#steve doesn't mind people thinking they could be gay dads. he's worried he looks like he has college age children#danny is not bothered by the suggestion they're married. he's offended at the implication it's a FAILED marriage#and then i guess it follows they're somehow both upset at the same thing here (partner disrespected their marriage)#(danny's lack of communication is unfair to steve. steve's comparison of himself to rachel is an insult to their relationship)#and all of that! all that mutual disgruntlement over their marriage! while they are also very much not married at all#someone please tell them that they could do that. do they know. do they realize they could just do that#of course i'm not suggesting it would fix them even a little bit. i just think it would be very funny#(and it would be good for them. and make them happy. but mainly it would be very funny because they would still be. uh. mcgarrett. you got a visitor.
