I think I’ve seen this film before, and I really liked the ending
Tumblr media
@bellarkebingo
SUMMARY: “Last time you forced them at gunpoint—”
“My gun was holstered.”
“—to sit and watch a deeply disturbing old movie. They'd much rather take their chances with former criminals, cultists, and cannibals.”
“They’re all old movies.” Bellamy protests.
-
Clarke is tired of Bellamy's pretentious, boring taste in movies.
A soft post-series fix-it that ignores 7x13 because fuck 7x13.
PROMPTS USED: Domestic, Fluff
“Where is everybody?”
Clarke jumps, nearly dropping the bowl in her hands. She turns to find Bellamy at the kitchen backdoor. He hides a laugh under a cough when he sees her annoyance and when her eyes narrow further, he throws his hands up in mock surrender.
The farmhouse is unusually empty. Madi is with friends and Raven, Emori, and Murphy fled when Clarke informed them it was movie night and Bellamy’s choice.

It’s a little tradition Bellamy and Clarke have established. Once a week (usually more often), Bellamy will come over and they’ll watch one of the tens of thousands of movies the Eligius III crew had stored to preserve human culture.
The first night, they’d put on some forgettable movie and Clarke sat next to Bellamy, his arm slung across the back of the sofa. She could feel the heat of his arm against her neck, and she felt safe.

I didn’t watch 7x13 (and I don’t plan to) so can somebody explain to me why Clarke didn’t drag Bellamy’s ass into the anomaly? Or is that just another part of this shit season that makes no sense?

SUMMARY: Forty-eight thousand and seventy-three days after he left Clarke to burn, she is standing before him, glowing in the honeyed light of two suns.
-
Bellamy almost loses his mind on the Ring.
PROMPTS USED: Presumed dead, Bellamy POV
It’s been one-hundred and fifty-six days since the world caught fire. The algae farm production has leveled out and they have more than enough food. There are no more wars to fight. Without enemies and without conflict, life has come to a standstill and Bellamy’s become barely a person, shrinking into his grief.
When they'd first settled on the Ring, he kept steady, stoic, strong. And then one morning, he woke well-rested and realized they were safe for the first time since they were sacrificed by the Ark and he fell apart.
A despair buried deep inside of his chest, under duty and responsibility, had begun to seep out, soaking into his bones. Eventually, his grief scraped him empty, leaving him with only a hollow ache.
All of the loss and killing had taken a toll but losing Clarke has worn him ragged. He has fallen so deep into misery he’s not sure he’ll ever climb out. Murphy’s taunts, Raven’s cheek—nothing seems to get through to him.
Grief has bled him dry but still it is hungry for more—hellbent on swallowing Bellamy whole. He tries to stifle it, to pretend, but he can’t, unable to find joy or purpose in a world without Clarke.

We are so sorry to report that Nobel laureate Toni Morrison has died at 88.
“She was an extremely devoted mother, grandmother, and aunt who reveled in being with her family and friends. The consummate writer who treasured the written word, whether her own, her students or others, she read voraciously and was most at home when writing,” her family said. “Although her passing represents a tremendous loss, we are grateful she had a long, well lived life.”
Our own Karen Grigsby Bates has a remembrance, with links to our previous interviews with Morrison – find it here.

left my life of sin
“He doesn’t want to kill the people inside—he wants to save them. They’ll die to protect the Primes.” Octavia explains to Clarke, who’s still eyeing Gabriel distrustfully.
“Then they die.” Bellamy replies callously, catching everybody’s attention. Gabriel grinds his teeth. He won’t stand for flippant disregard of the lives of his people.
“Bellamy, he doesn’t want to kill his own people.” Octavia means to diffuse the situation, understands Gabriel’s perspective intimately.
“Why not? You did.” Bellamy is blunt and unforgiving.
“Bellamy—” Clarke begins to admonish gently. He is being intentionally cruel, Octavia knows that—but it’s just his desperation to save his family she tells herself. Octavia could almost laugh at that, ignores the bitterness and envy sitting heavy on her chest.
“I don’t need a lecture on moral relativity from the Queen of Cannibals.” Bellamy looks at Octavia then and she looks away, struggles to swallow down her rage and hurt.
The room is thick with tension. Clarke reaches for Bellamy, touches his arm lightly. “Bellamy—” she starts again.
“No, Clarke.” Octavia says evenly, the broken look is gone—she lets her pain in, allows it to guide her. “Let him.” She turns her cold gaze on her brother. “But remember: while you were fucking the woman who almost killed me, I was ensuring my people’s survival.”

SUMMARY: It hadn’t taken more than ten minutes near the Anomaly for Clarke to lose her fucking mind and split off from the group in terror, Bellamy calling wildly after her.
PROMPTS USED: mutual pining, love confession
“We can make it back to Sanctum by daybreak but we’ll have to pass close to the Anomaly.” Gabriel lays out a hand drawn map on the table, points a line clean through from where they are and towards the compound. “It’ll be dangerous. The Anomaly will mess with your heads.”
“He’s right,” Octavia stands next to Gabriel, her arms crossed over her chest. “Your deepest desires and your darkest fears.” She sounds like she’s parroting something that’s been said to her. “But it’s the fastest route.”
Octavia studies Bellamy, waits for his approval—for any sort of reaction. He avoids her gaze but that doesn’t deter her at all. She sets her jaw, determination blazing in her eyes. Clarke’s heart aches for her—remembers how hollow she felt before Bellamy gave her absolution.
Gabriel glances up then, in the silence, unintentionally meets Clarke’s eye and looks away.
He can’t look at Clarke directly. It was only an hour at best, but he’s only ever known Clarke as Josephine and every time he catches her eye, he looks like he’s going to fall apart—like some piece of his soul has withered to nothing.
Clarke thinks back on Josephine’s memories, Gabriel was her humanity. The best part of her. And Gabriel—he conquered death for Josephine. She can’t imagine how it is to love somebody like that and have it returned.
Her thoughts turn to Bellamy again, at her side, close enough to touch. She conquered death for him. To come back to him. She can still hear his pleas echoing in her head. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for him.
She’s known that for a long time but thinking it now—she’s exhuming something she thought was long dead. Cutting it to pieces and patching it back up into a miserable, freak imitation. Trying to breathe life into something that should’ve stayed dead (was never really dead). That she never deserved.
An ugly metaphor for love.
