The Illustrator was the third proctor in charge of making The Stanley Parable alongside The Narrator and The Curator. The Illustrator drew and created what The Narrator wrote about and viceversa while The Curator organized and curated it all.

Throughout this time, The Illustrator and The Narrator grew close, using one another as muses for their own arts (which is why my Stanley design somewhat resembles The Illustrator in a few ways.) They weren’t lovers but they were quite friends either. As the three worked towards the completion of their story, they all slowly began growing irrational. One day, The Illustrator told The Narrator he wanted them to be something more. This frightened The Narrator, he feared loosing his position or the respect The Developers had for him. In a frantic, desperate attempt for simplicity in his irrational mind, The Narrator deleted The Illustrator, trapping him in the void between The Stanley Parable and reality.

date everything makes a great point by opening with the MC being replaced by A*I, but then highlighting the importance of real, human, authentic personification and performances for the rest of the entire game by literally bringing objects to life w full voice acting to boot

I know we all kinda talk about how isolated Gale was locked in his tower and how touch starved he must be but I think it’s easy to forget that this man is a yapper and has been deprived of people to yap too. Pretty much every action you do early game prompts a Gale anecdote. He is constantly yapping. He wants to talk. He wants conversation. My man yearns for gossip. Let me talk to him more god dammit.
