ok so, i had a few thoughts and...

alternativ idea just for fun: "the pale corpse of a long dead deity, kept by the worship of the people, maintained not by the faith of its creators but by the routine of theyre decendents, its words, its will, its guidance, lost to time, nought but its rotting remains to tell its tale, yet it lives, it persists, its ivory bones cared for by those whome do not know its divinity, who have never been there to whitness its greatness, those who may only dream of this god that once was, its dying body shall endure, to never live once more"

ok damn that was half spontanious, i had somewhat planned out what i wanted to say but i kinda went a different direction in the end, i was kinda thinking "dead meaningless corpse of a deity stripped of all its meaning kept alive by nonworshipping fools despite its already long cemented end" in a sorta "maintained what should have fallen to ruin for no reason whatsoever" in a non judgmental way, but it kinda pivoted into it being kinda beautiful that "despite it being irevocably and permanently dead its body and beauty will live forever to shine and echo long lost prayers" wich is much closer to the original post but an interpretation i still think is interessting
