Okay, so after two ER visits, I finally have both answers and some very good news.

My unwanted reproductive system is to blame. I am meeting with the surgeon tomorrow for a consultation, and so far every member of my medical team agrees, more likely than not the pluming is getting removed. Which means because my body is made of off brand legos, I don’t have to jump through hoops to get them removed for transition purposes.

I have medical issues that very well may necessitate the complete removal of my reproductive system.

This is so much better than some of the shit I worried it could be.

Zuko's unkillability should be utilized more in post canon. Every fire lord Zuko headcanon is all "poor Zuko, having to deal with so many assassination attempts, this boy is hanging on by a thread." But listen, my guy has already survived being burned, blown up, electrocuted, fought three agni kais, faced the Avatar numerous times. It becomes something of a meme in the FN that no one can kill the firelord so you shouldn't even try, Zuko ends up surviving increasingly elaborate and unlikely assassination attempts. He develops an immunity to poison after having been poisoned so many times. He's just like "huh, you thought THAT would kill me?" at this point.

AU Where Ozai Kills Zuko And Zuko Becomes A Wandering Spirit/Aang’s New Bestie!

Part 2

Inspired by @flameo-hotman‘s Don’t Wake The Dragon

Essentially, instead of scarring his son, Ozai decides to immolate Zuko. In a fit of grief and fury, Iroh challenges him to an Agni Kai and wins. Iroh is crowned Firelord.

Rn Iroh is angry and hurting and Azula is thoroughly traumatized by watching her own father burn her brother to death and then her fat useless uncle kill her father

Needless to say, she is not doing okay. Just, straight up not having a good time. Mostly though, she is still reeling from how far her father was willing to go to hurt Zuko. Like, maybe if he just scarred or mocked him, she could still borderline accept that or even find a good side to it, but public execution? For refusing to fight his own father? Azula is eleven and brotherless.

Iroh is angry at the world and angry at the spirits and angry at himself for failing his two sons. The war effort redoubles. In his fury, he forgot what Zuko stood up for in the first place.

Iroh officially adopts Azula. Though he has been consumed by hatred, he tries to not take it out on Azula, his last remaining family. He is a good uncle, as good a parental figure Azula ever got. Together, they mourn the gentle and loving soul that was Zuko.

Meanwhile, Zuko wakes up in the void
