Tales of a bartender episode 3
Episode 3: bee and the golden sphere
“Seven times… SEVEN TIMES you got us lost Grillby. Again! is your sense of direction that bad? I can't believe I let you lead the way. The first chance we get we are getting a map and I'll lead the way. Don’t give me that look. I’m annoyed at you not the other way around. At least this time we found a temple and not a mountain sized beast. Yeah I know they weren’t that big but still.” Bee said to Grillby as they walked in to the temple. At first Bee didn’t even notice they walked in, lost in her own thoughts while giving out to grillby. Grillby didn’t say a word however his flames shine brighter do to him being mad at the complaining she was saying.
The moment they stepped inside the door slammed shut behind them trapping them. Grillby knew he could easily melt the door away if he became mad enough but the hallway was too narrow. If he tried he would hurt bee. The continued down the hallway as grillby light the way. A sound of an object rolling behind them sent a chill up their spine. Bee and grillby turned slightly seeing a bolder rolling quickly behind. Grillby turned seeing bee already began to run leaving him behind. He chased after seeing a door closing slowly with bee on the other side already. The bolder came closer and closer. He slide under the door while his glasses fell off just on the wrong side of the door. Just before the door closed he grabbed the glasses pulling them to him. The door shut closed and the sound of the bolder crashing in to the door could be heard on the other side.
“Great now we're trapped in here. At least there are two doors to pick from we can go. I know that look and no we are not going your way. Odds are it will be the worse option of the two. HEY DON’T IGNORE ME!” bee said as Grillby walked through the right door. She took a deep breath deciding to take the left door. She didn’t worry about Grillby knowing he would be ok. Bee flew down the hallways using her wings trying to reach the end as soon as she could. As time past she thought of her actions and how she acted to grillby. The feeling of guilt filled her heart knowing she could have solved the problems in a more passive manner.
She sighed as she walked down long stairs. Before she made it to the bottom she noticed there was no torches to light the way at the bottom. She opened her bag that held everything she needed and pulled out a flash light. Bee walked down finding it harder to breath. She could hear some kind of hissing around her. She moved the light around seeing many level two beasts around her. They where the scared type so instead of having claws and fangs they resembled more of turtles and a skunk. The beasts where smaller than bee and would move away from her as she walked. A constant of gas came out of there protective shells. It was not flammable but something else. Bee pulled out a match and light it. With in seconds the gas put the flame out.
Bee's eyes widened knowing what this meant. In this world even the weakest seeming beast could be the biggest threat to some monsters. Bees wings began to move a great speed from worry. With no time to spare she flew as fast as she could down the halls. Bee reacted to traps in seconds as if they where nothing flying past them. She turned corners with no fall in her speed. The thought of grillby falling to these beasts scared her very being. She rushed in to the second final room only to stop. She looked around to see an open area like arena. A creature lurked in the shadow sneaking behind Bee.
It crawled towards her as its body’s colour shifts blending him in to his surroundings. Bee felt something approaching her. She flew in to the air turning around only to see nothing in font of her. She knew something must have been there. With in seconds she noticed a shadow on the ground with nothing it was connected to. Bee quickly summoned stingers sending them at the shadow. The stingers stopped in mid air above the shadow. The beasts form slowly turned back to its normal colours. Bee knew she would be in for a very tough fight against it. It was a level 6 stealth type beast. It resembled a lizard with sharp claws and teeth. Its strongest feature was its blade like tail. It shrugged off the stingers as if they only ticked it.
Bee was worried about Grillby but knew she couldn’t go on if she didn’t defeat the beast here and now. She clapped her hands together and focused her magic. She moved her hands apart summoning two shields in each hands. They where her main magic. Knowing her stingers where useless she had to find some way to out smart it. Before she could think of a way the beast leaped up at her swinging its claws at her. She reacted faster and faster using her shields to block each attack. On the beasts last attack it swung its body around slamming its tail at bee. She moved both shields to block it only to crash in to a wall from the impact.
Bee stud up losing her balance from the hit. She rubbed her head and saw blood on her hands. Anger filled her from seeing the blood. As she made a fist with both hands she summoned a shield just in front of each fist. She was done trying to think of a easy way to defeat it. Instead she decided to do what grillby would do. Walked to the middle of the arena trying to sense where the invisible beast’s next attack would come from. Shadows faded over her eyes. The creature leaped towards bee opening its jaws to devourer her. Inches away from the mouth bee suddenly seemed to have vanished. A second later as the beast was still mid air from its leap bee was flying through the air at high speeds around the wall of the walls. The beast skid its claws off the ground stopping its momentum is it land. The moment it stopped bee flew at it punching it with both shields blasting it through a wall.
On the other side the wall Grillby fell to his knees about to surrender to the gas putting his light out. The beasts producing the gas moved closer to him. Just then the level 6 beast crashed through the wall in to the other beasts. Bee saw Grillby as the smoke cleared dragging him in to the middle of the arena she shouted his name with tears in her eyes. Grillby breath in the air of the arena. He leaped up in a fright happy he survived. His flame became as bright as it always been before. He hugged Bee speaking one sentence.
“…Thank you so much...”
The door to the final room opened. Bee and Grillby apologized to each other about how they where acting. The forgot how much they meant to each other as friends but going through the temple reminded them how much they needed each other on this quest. As they entered the final room they found a golden sphere on a pedestal. A monster stepped out of the shadows seemingly great full to see them. She was a cat type monster. Her hair was long and black with white fur. Her eyes where only X’s. She was dressed as an adventurer.
“Thank god someone came to save me. I got trapped down here a few days ago by a level 6 stealth beast. It trapped me in here. Oh where are my manners I’m raven its nice to meet you two. As thanks for saving me take this sphere. I read the mysterious scriptures on the wall and it seemed to have belonged to one of the two creators of the world we live in. From what I can make out it gives enlightenment in the darkest times.” She said as she handed the sphere to them. Soon after all three of them walked back out of the temple.
After some more talking between them raven gave bee a spare map she had and parted ways. Bee was happy they met raven even if it was for a very short time. She hoped there paths would cross again and what she didn’t know then was there paths would cross again far sooner then she thought. Bee put the sphere in her bag and lead the way to there the future.

Tales of a bartender episode 2
Episode 2: the friendship of steel
A few days past as grillbys and bee walked. Grillby took in the peaceful environment around him as bee flew around with her wings having fun. Bee flew high in to the sky seeing smoke coming from what seemed to be a small village. She flew down to grillby alerting him. Grillby fixed his tie and to a sprinters stance. He put his hands behind him shooting a strong stream of fire behind him rocketing him towards the town. The fire he left behind went out shortly after. In the village alphys was cornered by a level 3 beast. The creature resembles a wolf larger then a normal wolf as well as having its entire back covered in spikes.
Alphys closed her eyes in fear. Before the beast could eat her, what seemed like a giant fire ball impacted with its back defeating it Instantly. As the flames swirled around the wolf grillbys stood up above it. Alphys opened her eyes thankful grillby saved her. Grillby turned away from alphys stepping out of the alleyway. Bee flew down to alphys comforting her. Grillby knew one many thing one being wolfs hunt in packs. Not to his surprise lots of level 3 beasts moved around him. It was time for him to clear house.
“Alphys why are you here in this small town? Oh and don’t worry grillby can take those puppys easy.” Bee spoke with a warm smile to ease alphys nerves. She looked over towards grillby only to see him dodge with ease only taking one punch for him to take each one down. She sighed in relief it was easy for him.
“I-I was sent here on the kings o-order do research the b-beasts biology i-in hopes to learn more about e-each level of beasts and there different t-types. We weren’t papered enough f-for an attack like this. I-im the only one left. Most o-of them escaped. Why are you two here?” alphys asked still somewhat worried the beasts would be too much. Bee gave alphys a hug to calm her. She sat down and explained.
“ one of grillbys best customers got captured so we have to go save him and then finish something that started long long ago. His friend is called sans. You know him the pun loving skeleton.” Bee said in a cheerful manner. Alphys seemed a little confused and asked why he would risk his life for just a friend? Bee looked at her realising she didn’t know. She took a deep breath as her cheerful look became serious.
Many years in the past:
Grillby was taking trash out behind his bar. He placed it in to the bin noticing someone close by in the shadows. He strengthened his light reviling the boy. It was sans as a child with a very young papyrus.behind them stood a man no one seemed to remember. They asked for refuse inside the bar and grillby saw no harm in it. What grillby didn’t know was they where being tracked.
He made them some hot coco as well as cleaned there clothes. grillby asked them where they came from and the answer he got seemed strange. They told him they where trapped in a gladiator arena where they built a machine the escape. He enjoyed there story’s even if he doubt it was the truth. Before long he felt the presents of what he couldn’t believe would be in the underground. The mystery man felt the same. Grillby rushed out side seeing humans rushing around the bar. Before they could even attack the man pulled out a dagger and swiftly slayed them.
The man explained the humans must have created their own machine to follow them and to not absord the souls. He explained that those souls where corrupted and absorbing them would lead to them losing there sanity. The man's thought drifted on thinking that if they where contain first they could become non corrupted but that technology hadn’t been made yet. Grillby told them to stay in the bar as he solved the problem. The family was his guests and his responsibility to protect. The man agreed going back inside to comfort papyrus. Grillby didn’t know at the time he was followed. Time past as more and more humans showed up against him. Each time they fell before him. Eventually he made it to the machine. The machine seemed similar to one that was blown up near it. As he walked closer to it he let his guard down. A shadowy figure approached behind him ready to put out grillbys light.
Before the human could swing his hand down a blast knocked him away. Grillby turned in surprise only to see sans behind him. He thanked sans gratefully. Grillby turned to the machine using his blazing heat to melt it to the ground. Since then grillby felt he owed sans for saving his life. Little did he know that feeling to pay him back changed to a friendship as strong as iron.
Present day:
“From then on they always had each others backs. I know it might not be much of a reason to some but its enough for him. He told me that story a few times now and I liked hearing it each time.” Bee said looking towards the ground with a calm smile. She snapped out of her thoughts as grillby walked back towards them. He finished off all the beasts in the area while they talked. Only a few scratches where on grillby but nothing severe. Alphys looked at him amazed at how strong he really was as well as thankful for it. The help alphys get ready to head back to mount Ebott. Before she went however she realised something important.
“oh a-amm I should tell you. Your b-both walking the wrong way to save sans. H-he was captured in the west not the north.” She said before turning away and leaving. Bee slowly turned towards grillby. He face shaded over with only a faint shimmer of green light from her eyes. Grillbys turned facing away from her trying to pretend it wasn’t him who took them the wrong way.

Tales of a bartender episode 1
Episode 1: the journey begins
Long ago a brother and sister created the world. One of fire and the other of water. At first they worked in harmony. One day the brother of fire found out his sister wanted to drown the creatures who have desecrated their world by populating it. The brother of fire stood up to her. They fought for many days and nights. Eventually the fire brother trapped his sister away under the ocean. With his mission complete the brother transformed his body much smaller then it truly was so he could live among the monsters and humans that lived on his earth.
The present day:
Frisk has freed monsters from the underground. They hoped for a beautiful world to explore but what they found was something that couldn’t even be called monsters. Creatures of many shapes and sizes have been fighting the humans many years after the monsters disappeared. No one knew where they came from or why they all seem so hostile. The monsters soon found out these creatures have been named beasts by the humans. Now with a new world human’s and monsters are working together to fight these beasts and take back their lands once and for all.
Mount Ebott became the central base for the monsters and humans. In the mountain at a bar called grillbys two humans talked about a massive water elemental that rose from the ocean a few weeks back. It created a large castle of water and seemed to be waiting for something. Before they could say much more, Grillby slammed the glass he held down on the table. Everyone went silent, even the humans. Moments past as they waited for him to speak. In one commanding voice he said.
“…everyone out. We are closed…”
Everyone rushed out of the bar knowing the danger there is to apposing him when he is mad. Grillby sighed as he said to himself it was finally time. He turned the open sign around to closed and fixed his coat. The lights turned off. The only light came from Grillby as he looked back towards the bar. Memory’s of the good times he had with sans flowed to him. He felt something was off. Sans didn’t come in for ketchup for a week. Grillby sighed hoping for sans best while he opened the door. He left the building and began to walk to a house deep within the snowdin forest first. Behind the house was a garden where he knew she would be. he walked around to the garden seeing her sitting down looking after her flowers. A bee girl sat there. She had brown hair and emerald green eyes. She looked over at Grillby happy to see him. From the look on his face she could tell he has appeared once more. Not many people can read elementals face's but she could read his with ease. They grew up together so she knew him well.
She went inside grabbing what she needs. When she came out she had a big camping bag. They left there, determined to succeed on there mission. Papyrus stopped them at the exit with tears in his eye sockets. He told them Sans got captured by one of the level 10 beasts. Papyrus couldn’t go save him. he was given the task of defending the entrance of the mountain. Bee comforted Papyrus and reassured him they would save Sans for him. As they walked Grillby thought about it. He sighed knowing he had to. After all he couldn’t lose his best customer. That’s what he told himself but he knew it was because Sans was a dear friend.
Grillby looked out to the horizon feeling the sun rise. For him it was nice to go on an adventure once more. Even if it was an adventure to stop the end of the world. He knew though that Aqua wouldn’t end the world till she had the fight she wanted. For now Grillby wanted to take things one step at a time.
