[ID: Digital sketch of Curt Mega, talking to the phone in the middle of getting ready. He's tying his shoes, having elevated his leg on the table into front of him as he sits. He's saying "I swear, I'll beat your limey ass this time, O'!" /end ID]

Whaaaat? Wildlife all over the ENTIRE PLANET is dangerous and scary unless treated with respect and looked after? /sarcasm
No but really, this is why everyone loves the Irwin family and David Attenborough, because they treat Australian wildlife as exactly what it is, beautiful, essential and dangerous if you weren’t being respectful. I really recommend looking at Aboriginal voices that talk about native wildlife.
okay I’ll say it nicer:
australia was colonised according to the myth of terra nullius (or empty land). ever since the very early days of colonialism, the land has been framed as something untameable and unliveable. this has justified acts of violence against the first peoples here, in that they are seen as non-people. it has justified the destruction of sacred land in the goal of making australia look more european. (an example: our capital city contains a man-made lake that is now nothing better than a fetid carp pond. it’s disgusting and unnatural). basically, the idea of “taming australia’ has justified endless harm
“everything in australia is weird and dangerous” is not just some silly meme phrase, it is something that arcs back to the very beginning of white settlers laying claim to ‘australia’. and personally I am very sick of seeing it thrown around like it means nothing

My preferred way to watch the Star Wars movies is 4,5,1,2,3,6. Not saying this is objectively the best way, but it preserves most of the plot twists. In this order, the PT functions as an extended flashback after Vader reveals himself as Luke's father, showing what happened to him and providing context for both Vader's internal conflict and Palpatine's machinations in RotJ.
Additionally, the birth scene in RotS when Padmé names the second baby Leia becomes a kick in the teeth for first time viewers. If you watch OT then PT, you already have that information. If you watch PT then OT you don't even know those characters yet. This way it becomes a reveal that follows up on Yoda's "there is another" line and Leia being able to sense Luke with the Force in ESB. It works as well as any version of that reveal possibly could given the framework.
Also this way, you see Anakin's whole fall to the Dark Side, and then the next thing you turn on is RotJ, and Luke's first appearance in that movie has him lightly Force-choking Jabba's guards while wearing black Jedi robes similar to Anakin's in RotS. It offers just that little bit more uncertainty over whether Luke actually could fall.

odysseus absolutely does present a threat to penelope if he perceives her as at all unfaithful, and i feel the unfairness of this, and i think people tend to undersell how much tension at least potentially exists between odysseus and penelope. but i'm also like. his reaction, all speculation aside, his actual reaction in the odyssey to her flirting with the suitors is delight, because he immediately ascertains that she is running a con. sorry that they're so in-sync in spite of the forces that try to drive a wedge between them, including their own misgiving hearts. sorry that they invented homophrosyne ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

End of the universe
------
I'm glad to finally finish this series! It would be nice to revisit the previous works.
The first one - Neutron star and galaxy.
The second - Black hole.
The third(this one) one was based on the Big Freeze theory.

Today I learned that Van Halen have that rider in their contract about “a bowl of M&Ms with all the brown ones removed” in order to know at a glance if the promoter read the entire contract. And the reason they do THAT is because they once had a stage collapse because a promoter hadn’t read the proper way to set up all the specific technical stuff.
So if the band goes in the dressing room or catering and sees brown M&Ms, they know they have to double-check the stage setup for safety.
