Film Reflection
1. I think the purpose of submitting a video in a writing class is to teach the students the different ways they can express themselves, it is a writing class but the words can be projected with assignments like this one.
2. I explained my message in many different ways. My topic on the doc was college athletes should get better treatment so in order to get my message across I used videos, interviews, and pictures.

3. The structure and delivery of the film doc did not worked as the group wanted to achieve its advocacy because the content was confusing for some of the students, the video needed to express what the group is trying to achieve and you must present information in way you make it clear to your audience.

4. for question number 3, I choose that image because the elements in our video were “Not that bad” we used interviews, video clips, and other rhetorical devices to persuade our audience to know that college athletes deserve a better treatment.

Week 13 Post
Post an example of the genre you plan to use for your own op-ed. My op-ed will be on higher education for immigrants: with my solution will be trying to help immigrants with some economic aid or not make them paid as non-resident students so they can achieve higher education and become professionist.

I will do an essay, because it will help me to explain more deeply my problem-solution statement, and develop a more detail critical thinking.

I went to Dr. Sara L. McKinnon presentation on Tuesday, honestly it was pretty interesting because her topic was somewhat related to mine. Dr. McKinnon began her presentation by explaining the rhetorical studies to understand why people move to other countries. Dr. McKinnon also explained the real definition of a refugee and the way she interprets that definition, during her presentation she showed images that helped her audience to understand how water also influences the movement of people from place to place. Dr. McKinnon concluded her presentation by telling her audience how rhetorical studies help people understand what a refugee is and how language and the understanding of language help people understand why people move from one place to another.

Week 10
1.Address a specific obstacle or concern that you think you or your group will encounter with the topic and/or film documentary. In my opinion I think the hardest part of this assignment will be how to start it, and how to make super clear to our audience what we are advocating for.
2.What are your concerns with working in a group? Working in groups has never been easy specially when you don’t know your group members, you have your style and they obviously have theirs...but I think we’re going to find a way because all of us want to get a good grade in this assignment.

LR Reflection!
I used a variety of rhetorical choices such as a survey, documentaries, and newspaper articles.
For my methodology I found that the media influences a lot the way others think, and most of the people answered as I predicted but to be honest in some of the questions I thought there would be 100% in one response and many people think differently.
I think a survey was the best way to conduct my primary research, since my lit review is about stereotypes I wanted to observe how the majority of people think about Mexicans in a matter of appearance or economic background.

For question number 1 I chose that gif because most of us struggled a lot with this assignment. To be honest writing is not one of my strongest and I put a lot effort to find those sources and write this assignments the best I could, but at the end I just wanted to eat that lit review assignment and end that week.

Week 8 Tumblr Post
The first transition phrase I found in my Lit Review was in the introduction it says: “The third big Mexican immigration movement was after 1965 when the United States made the first changes to the immigration law imposing the first numerical limits to on Mexico and other countries (Zong and Batalova, 2014). As time passed by the U.S citizens as long with their authorities have put a greater emphasis in a special portion of the immigrant population which are the ‘Mexicans citizens.’ Many U.S citizens and also immigrants from other parts of the world have become intolerant to Mexicans that live in the United States and even political figures display their derogatory opinion toward Mexican immigrants ‘This immigration crisis has not ended. It has simply shifted’ (Robbins, 2015). “ In this part I jumped from one source to another I kinda change the main idea in the paragraphs but the first paragraph. The first paragraphs give statistics while the second one explains those statistic with an example. The transition phrase that I used was “As time passed by” symbolizing that I was going to focusing on the present since in the last paragraph I focused in the past
For the second example I want to put where I need to put a transition phrase which is in my first question. For the first question I just used one source and I am required to put more than one so I have to incorporate a new source and a transition phrase. I am going to use a transition phrase between these two paragraphs and implement a new source: “In a video posted last year in YouTube entitled U.S Immigration Explained (2014) are described some of the theories that persuade people but specifically Mexicans to come to the United States. According to this video many of these theories are the insecurity and violence that Mexico has been suffering over the past decades which result in the movement of many Mexicans to the United States.[...]Parents send their children and even toddlers to an adventurous journey where many people fail to reach even the halfway point. “ I would use “furthermore” as a transition word and then incorporate another source in order to support the first one and build more my ethos.

My Research Process...
My research process me like...
Honestly I find this assignment kind of difficult but I am doing my best effort to get a good grade.
My research process begins analysing my topic. After spending many hours looking for valuable sources, I found that most of my sources were pretty interesting but were .org and I needed some scholar articles too, that frustrated me a lot because I am not good searching in data bases.
The next step was to select the best sources and read them. I summerize my sources and start putting them together. My final step was to answer a;; of my questions with my sources and explain why those sources go along with my research questions, my Lit Review, and most importantly my topic.
And finally I finished my research process...

Literature Review Problems
Honestly I have never done a literature review so I am kind of confuse with the assignment. I feel comfortable with the topic I chose because I have Mexican backgrounds and I identify myself with the topic I am analyzing.
One problem I think I will face with this assignment is that I will take forever looking for reliable sources that can support my claims.
But I know that after...
Struggling....
And working hard...
I will be an excerpt on my topic and I will be able to develop a better analysis paper not only for “Stereotype Mexican Immigrants” but in other topics. I will improve my writing and my analytical knowledge

GA REFLECTION
1. How does studying genres impact your writing? iWhat are the complexities of using genres?
At first when people start studying the topic of genres it may be a little confusing to understand. People tend to confused genres with writing styles.
2. How does studying genres impact your writing? Once people understand completely genres they will feel more comfortable in analyzing different types of text and be able to identify some of the features that characterize and make unique a text, picture, or video.

3. What is the value of studying and/or writing about genres?

The value of studying and writing about genres resides in the capacity that the reader and writer will get to analyse and evaluate different types of texts, also identify the special characteristics that text has that makes it different from the other writing compositions.

4.Select one of the questions listed and explain the rhetorical choices you made towards answering the question. For question number three I chose two pictures, one that says “Become a writer they say, It will be fun they say.” this picture represents that when people are studying some type of writing technique, or in this case genres it seems difficult and hard to understand. The next picture says “Just keep writing…just keep writing.” this represents the idea that if a student keep practicing eventually you will come a better writer and will improve at the topic.

Week 2. Genre analysis- ICONOGRAPHY This picture is an example of an iconography, it also includes typographic elements on it. I found this image at quickmeme.com a website where people post and create "funny" pictures. Audience: the intended audience are mostly intolerant US citizens, as people can see in this picture two American guys are talking about immigration policies and automatically these guys want to solve it by putting a big wall dividing the two countries. For this reason people can assume that the audience is people who do not like Mexican citizens. Purpose: the purpose of this meme is too explain the idea that many racist US citizens automatically infer that Mexicans cover all the American immigration population, because when these two guys talk about immigration policies the first thing that appear in the picture is that big wall dividing Mexico and the United States. Ethos: the genre establishes its credibility, by being published in quickmeme where many people from many places post "funny" pictures revealing their true ideas and beliefs. Logos: the logic behind this meme is the big wall that appears in the picture that divides Mexico and the United States, this wall truly exists located between both. Another logical appeal that this meme provides is when the two guys talk about immigration policies they are referring to Mexican people assuming they cover all the immigrant population in the U.S. Pathos: the emotional appeal of this meme is shown in both the desperation and frustration of the Mexican people trying to cross the big wall and in the mock and racist attitude of the other two guys at the other side of the wall. Giving the audience the feeling that many Americans have towards Mexican citizens of contempt not realizing that Mexicans are not the entire immigrant population. Delivery: Even though this meme fits in the iconographic type of genre it contains typographic features.
