I’ve wanted to make a warriors and undertale multiverse AU since FOREVER, but I could never come up with any names that seemed to fit them well! Yours fit perfectly though, unbelievably so! Did you have any sort of method when deciding their warrior names?

HII! Yess I love naming things. Thank you very much I am glad people think their names fit hehehhehee

SO! For my method of naming things. I actually do several thingggss..so for renaming the sans’s, since they already have names but I gotta warrior-ify them, I usually try to stick with their usual name as the first name in the warrior name (ie: Dream, Ink). If I don’t think the name fits very well for a warrior (or I just want something unique) I will find a word that sounds similar/has the same beginning as the original name (ie: Killer -> Kestrel, Horror -> Hawk), usually these names that are less like their original name I try to at least stick with a theme (Kestrels and Hawks are both skilled predators, therefore I thought they fit Killer and Horror)

Then the second name (minus kit or paw) I choose mostly on vibes HEHE. I pick out a word that matches their personality/appearance/something about them and then either pick that word or find a synonym for it. (For synonyms I would look in a dictionary or word finding website, I use https://www.wordhippo.com). For example, Dreamblaze has “Blaze” as the later name because I think of Dream as a very bright, powerful character. And I think of his magic as a firey force. Hence “Blaze”. Or with Ink I chose “Inksplash” because. Well. Look at his face. An Inksplash, HEHEHE

So YESYES, I do have a big method for naming things, and I will in fact infodump about everything I do if anyone asks. (Please ask more asks everyone I love asks sm)

Bad sans’s as warriors!!!

As per popular demand (three whole people) I have done it. Here are the boys who may or may not be found family

Due to running out of space I could not put notes on Nightclan itself (note: it used to (up until two days ago lmao) be named Darkclan, but now it’s not) so HERE ARE NIGHTCLANS NOTES:

Nightclan is a growing clan, new still, yet older than Lightclan by many moons, residing in between the city and forest. (It has territory in both regions, which must be a bit difficult to manage). It was founded by Nightstar, whom rules it with strict management and his signature coldness. Despite being made up primarily of mentally ill former rogues and strays, it is doing well, and is quite a powerful force.

Most cats in this clan follow the Dark Forest, rather than Starclan. they feel they can place more trust in the predictable malice the dark than they can in the fleeting, unknowable visions and tests of Starclan.

I love them and hope they succeed in everything, even if they are a little insane and cruel.

Does Dreamblaze constantly purr to radiate heat or are they naturally warm? Does this help as a medicine cat?

Dreamblaze is in fact very warm (emotionally and physically), and yes it does help being a medicine cat, mostly in the fact that he is very comforting and he would probably cuddle up to someone if they were feeling too cold

Dreamtale backstory in warriors au >:]

SO ABOUT THEM DREAMTALE TWINS!!!!

LONGGG info dump warning. ‼️

and elaborating on the moontree idea..

my main plan was that the moontree is pretty similar to the moonpool, being an ancient and mysterious thing connected to starclan itself where cats could come and rest inbetween its roots while having them dreams of starclan. Or a cat could look into the reflection of an apple from the tree and receive a vision in it. Dreamblaze n Nightstars mother, Nim (whom I haven’t given a warriors name yet lol) lived by the tree to protect it. (Foreshadowing ForeshadowingForeshadowing), Nim was tasked (or decided herself) that the tree needed a guardian to prevent random cats and/or humans from straying to close and ruining something. eventually she had two kits (drem & nitmar) (I will not be confined by the binds of spelling)…

something something Nim taught Nightkit and Dreamkit about the clans and starclan and how to do medicine and stuff, but, when the humans grew too close to the tree, Nim was dead-ified by a human (or possibly construction equipment) somehow someway. Ow :[

Dream and Norway or something (whom at this point were about apprentice age) were handed the responsibility of the tree entirely, which is a lot for some recently orphaned children tbh. They did their best, though the humans grew closer and closer (hate it when the evil construction crew accidentally destroys my territory, as a stray cat, personally).

To protect the tree, Nightpaw and Dreampaw (whom were apprenticed by Nim shortly before her departure-from-existence) developed completely different strategies to keep the humans away. (Strategies that they definitely didn’t argue about and become distanced because of…).

Dreampaw decided to play the “adorable perfect kitty” act, and would lounge around and befriend the humans, standing in their way when they got too close to the tree. After all, you can’t chop down a tree when there’s a cutie kitty sleeping in it!!!

While nightmare had a more traditional warriors approach, he would hiss and scratch and startle people away. Effective, but now humans hate you, and as a (mostly) black cat, you were already considered bad luck, YOU SHOULDNT PUSH THAT LUCK TOO FAR

anyway. Eventually, both of their tactics stopped working (I mean the construction crew has a job to do, tbf, can’t just have a giant apple tree and stray cats in the middle of what must one day be my glorious beautiful brand new WALMART!). To stop the kitty twins from interfering, dream got tricked and trapped in a box and driven a short ways away by one guy, while nightmare was more ignored and left a second thought. Nightpaw tried to keep the humans away, but now it wouldn’t work, and the tree was chopped down. unfortunately, due to this construction crew being full of morons, when the tree fell, it broke some wires or something and set ablaze. Which is not great for anyone tbh

meanwhile, Nightpaw gets trapped under a fallen tree branch, and when the tree begins to burn, he gets burnt too. He escapes within an inch of his life and runs away because THERE AINT NO TREE TO PROTECT </33 (and also, he never saw dream be boxed up, so he unfortunately concludes that dream, who had been befriending the humans, decided to be a kittypet and abandon his brother and his duties.)

meanwhile part 2, Dreampaw escapes his cardboard confinement and (somehow) runs all the way back to the tree after a few hours. When he returns, Nightpaw is missing and the tree is burned to ashes. Dream searches the wreckage for any trace of his brother but finds nothing, during his frantic pursuit, he gets covered in ashes, turning his light ginger pelt gray (a reference to how he got turned to stone in OG dreamtale). Just as dream is about to give in, he finds one remaining apple in the ashes, and decides to take it with him and leave, to plant its seeds somewhere far away, hopefully safe from harm.

eventually, both dream and nightmare independently come to the conclusion that making a clan would be a worthwhile decision, for their own reasons. Dreampaw (eventually named Dreamblaze) makes his territory a while away from the growing town where the tree used to be. while Nightpaw (soon named Nightmare, but quickly taking the name Nightstar when he creates his clan) claims a large area of land partially in the forest and partially in a less populated region of the town (after he realizes its way easier to recruit cats in the town, where there are plenty of strays.)

the twins don’t see eachother again for a while, but when they do, Nightstar avoids Dreamblaze like the plague and won’t listen to a word he says. While dream is consumed in guilt (again) seeing his brother no longer has any trust in him

Heheheehhehe yes, while Nightclan (renamed Darkclan because it just sounded like a rebranded dark forest lmao) is lead by Nightstar (cat Nightmare), Lightclan is the younger of the two clans, and does not yet have an official leader. Though the few members of Lightclan usually go to Dreamblaze (or occasionally Inksplash) for leadership. Dreamblaze would be the leader, probably, but cannot take on the responsibility yet because

1: hes already the busiest cat ever (he is both a warrior and makeshift medicine cat, and he is literally building a whole clan from scratch, so..mighty busy)

2: he isn’t confident that he could be a good leader officially. He feels inadequate for the task. (Harhar cat angst. I gave bro insecurities)

3: (major lore point) the clans do not currently have much of a connection to starclan, besides to occasional dream. Because the moontree (this aus version of the moonstone/moonpool) (also based on the tree of feelings, mwaha more lore) was wrecked by LORE

HIGHLY CANON. HOW DID YOU GUESS THAT

Inksplash does actually do that in the story, which is why I nearly put “occasional kittypet” in his description (and why I put “former loner/somewhat kittypet). He likes being a warrior, but bro isn’t opposed to visiting his favourite humans for treats and other random things (including the tail dye). Something I’ll probably elaborate more in the future is that the clans in this au are (usually) much less strict in their rules and structure than canon warrior cats. (Which is partially because of the fact these clans are newly formed)
