Kit did not expect the gesture, and it takes her by surprise. So much so that it takes her several moments before her shaking hands reach out to shove her arms through the sleeves.

She knew it was going to be warmer simply by the way it felt on her shoulders, but the warmth that spread through her ice-cold arms was almost euphoric. Kit didn't fit well in it, but that was to be expected as small and skinny as she was in comparison to Cross. She stretched her arms out and did up the buttons and zipper as best she could before continuing on.

It takes herself several moments. Long after she's nodded to Cross' encouragement about how much closer they are and the warmth to be promised. "Thank you..." she remembers to finally say, "Are you going to be okay without a jacket?"

Cross pauses, stares at Kit for a second, and then slips her jacket off. She steps close, entirely inside Kit's personal space, and drapes the jacket over her shoulders with some degree of care. "Put your arms in the sleeves," she instructs, "And do it up."

They're always warm; Cross' body heat has soaked into the inside of the thick jacket, so hopefully it'll help. They didn't mind.

"It'll be warm inside once we get there. It's further to go back now."

"Just special headers on the combines made to get sunflowers up specifically. Sometimes I think they can use the same ones they use for wheat but it's harder." She stopped bouncing in place as she talked, running out of breath. "I love sunflowers so much," she reminded him, as if she does not say this a million times a day.

"I did not. What type of special things did they use?" Isaac asked curiously as he kept an eye on Kit as they made their way to the museum. He was not at all surprised with how she was going around. He just made sure to keep an eye on her so she wouldn't get herself hurt.

Even what she eats - oh what a glorious and terrible thing that had been to discover. "I used to only get processed nutrient shakes, you know. That's all I was given to eat. And when I got out there were so many new things to try, but none of it tastes right. But I think I figured it out."

Kit looks at Cross and notices something about their face and wonders. She wonders a lot about Cross. "What about your choices?"

There's that smile, the brief twitch of it, and they nod. "That's you. I think that's fucking badass." It gives Cross this little... ache. Something they'd rather ignore. "You're in control of lots of things. Even, even— what you eat, and when. It all counts."

Canonically, Kit isn't going to kill Oliver - it's supposed to be one of the former guards [Preston] who does it. But at the same time, the amount of confusion and agony Kit experiences at the idea of Oliver's death????
