I've seen quite a few people argue that while Carol is overly strict with Noelle, she isn't outright abusive. You aren't wrong in arguing that strictness and abusiveness don't always go hand in hand, and that principle might possibly have applied to Carol IF IT WEREN'T FOR THIS SCENE RIGHT HERE!!!!!

The way she effortlessly shifts from being enraged with Susie and Noelle and irked with Asgore to suddenly acting all warm and welcoming with Kris, coupled with her BLATANTLY MANIPULATIVE behaviour (i.e. her non-apology for what went down), is perhaps the hugest red flag that her overall personality isn't just harsh, but something outright sinister given how WELL and how WILLING she can manipulate and deceive others when the moment calls for it.

Not to mention the contrast between her treatment of Noelle and her treatment of Kris just ABSOLUTELY REEKS of the classic "Golden and Scapegoat Child" dynamic we've seen from so many abusers.

(And keep in mind this isn't taking into consideration her connections to the Dark World, the Roaring Knight, AND OUR SOUL!)
