I can't help but think about how weird the Hive is in Hollow Knight. Like, they're clearly infected cuz they bleed orange, but they also don't seem that affected by it, as their dream dialogue barely mentions "light" and the Hive seems pretty much intact. Not to mention that they'll just ignore you if you put on Hiveblood, but maybe that's just a pheromonal thing or something.

Uhhhh I can't remember (it's 1:30am lol) but I think Vespa mentions how the infection might be a bit too similar to how the hive as a whole operated, like bees focusing on single task and performance and such so that it didn't make much of a difference to them just getting order from either or

EVEN THOUGH you can tell by the structure of the place that The Hive feels like it's a place bees would hang out, study, read, craft, build... and not just be fully absorbent in their tasks, like the place looks like they lived in it and not just striving to keep the place safe, fed and the queen defended

I need to recheck Vespa's dialogue or if you want to, feel free to do that

but ya it's a bit weird! almost like the whole area was added separately or something (silly)
