In July of 2020 my dear friends @bigthiefmusic came to @flyingcloudrecordings and recorded ‘certainty,’ ‘heavy bend,’ ‘sparrow,’ ‘12,000 lines,’ and ‘blue lightning’ - it was the first of four sessions for dragon 🐉 can’t say enough about these fine people, and i thank them for placing their trust in me and our humble studio in the catskills. will always remember this session.

Been a fan and friend of el of @palehound since the bent nail ep, which kept a permanent residence in celestial shore’s old econoline tour wagon. since then we’ve both been through the wash a few times- a music industry burn here and there, some wild life stuff, but we are not yet fully cooked! and as fate would have it, we both landed at my studio last summer (alongside @larz_broman, el’s consummate band mate and pal) to start work on this stunner of a rock and roll record. i think it’s el’s best work to date- the song writing is incredibly strong and the riffs are hot af. welcome, ‘eye on the bat’ !!

‘Goodnight Summerland,’ an LP by @helena_deland cane out oct 13 💙 Helena is a wonderful artist, collaborator, singer, guitarist, person. thankful to have helped document this music. check out the first tune ‘bright green vibrant gray’ we built this arrangement around a single take that helena put down. it’s an arrangement i’ll always be proud of. rec/mix here at fc. mastered by @heba_kadry23w
