“Aren’t initiation rituals banned?”

“Who said anything about initiation?” Meian says innocently, suspiciously.

Atsumu considers the pros and cons. According to his inner voice, this is a potentially catastrophic idea. He royally fucked up the last two math assignments, and just because he has a scholarship, doesn’t mean that he is immune to the consequences of poor grades. The bare minimum is to maintain at least a 2.0, and at this rate, Atsumu’s going to fail and have to retake the damn class. Waves of shame return at the thought of spending his second semester on academic probation.

But he's had trouble making friends for as long as he can remember, and there were points, especially in secondary school, when he was openly despised. Now, he can’t afford to have that type of rapport. How is he supposed to perform well during games and support his teammates without establishing essential bonds?

It’s a terrible idea that he’d come to regret it in the morning, but Atsumu was never one to make responsible choices. In any case, he can always get the assignment done first thing tomorrow. It’s a Friday night after all.
