Benjamin and Cookie

10-year-old Benjamin Mackey has been taking lessons with Jen for a year now. When he first started, he was a pretty nervous rider, but Cookie has helped him grow his confidence and now he’s starting to learn how to jump!

(He’s also a fan of matching his outfits with Cookie’s tack. As you can see, this day’s color was orange!)

Beaches in the Pacific Northwest are rarely warm and dry enough to have a picnic on, but a heat wave has hit the area this week, so the ladies are taking advantage of it!

Eve and Journey

Just across the road from Foggy Pine Stables lies a huge empty field between the forest and the coastline. The owner of the property, an elderly man who intended to build on it but never did, has allowed Jen to use the field to set up small cross-country courses for her students to practice with.

Charlie and Houston’s first ride at Foggy Pine Stables. Despite his young age (only 6), Houston is extremely reliable, so he quickly adjusted to his new environment and enjoyed his training with some simple low jumps.

what you can expect from this blog

hi new followers!

i’m going to be using this blog as a way to share my character’s stories, but also just take some pretty pictures and have fun. 

the RP/storytelling photo sets will be more minimally edited, because of course it takes much longer to edit a series of photos than it does to edit just one. occasionally i will post smaller sets or single photos though, which i plan on editing more thoroughly, because i enjoy it :)

i have updated the links on my blog so you should be able to view a list of my characters and their bios (there’s 7 currently), the horses and their bios, the overview of the facility, and my about me page.

The interior of the barn. Foggy Pine Stables has 16 stalls, 14 of which have attached gravel paddocks. The barn also includes a tack room, a feed room, and two snug wash stalls with cross ties.

Foggy Pine Stables is a 10-acre boarding, training, and lesson barn nestled away in a rural forest of the Pacific Northwest. The facility has been inherited by the now-owner, Jen Ibuna.

Cannon’s Stormy Skies “Willow” - owned by Jen Ibuna

Willow is a great lesson horse for the intermediate riders at the barn. She is more athletic and bigger than Cookie, but not quite as tall or powerful as Journey. She has a quirky personality and can take some getting used to - she is known for her “resting mare face”, but under saddle she is easy to handle and her flattened ears always turn forward when she sees jumps set up in the arena.

Mona Lisa’s Smile “Mona” - owned by Ethan Ward

Some of the riders at Foggy Pine Stables gossip that Mona is the only living thing Ethan Ward truly cares about in his life. She is spoiled and pampered by Ethan, and she adores him for it. She is whip-smart and extremely sensitive under saddle, which is perfect for the high-level dressage riding Ethan enjoys. If only Ethan could get along with people as well as he gets along with his horse....

Pandora’s Box “Journey” - owned by Jen Ibuna

Journey was recently bought by Jen for her students who were too advanced for the other horses and wanted something to meet their skill level. She is the most naturally talented horse Jen owns, and is the perfect horse to use as an eventer, as she doesn’t spook or tire easily.

Gambler’s Luck “Jack” - owned by Jen Ibuna

Jack was sent to Jen for training three years ago. After working with him for some time, Jen realized his problems were much more severe than she had been lead to believe. He was very aggressive and sensitive, and unsafe for anyone but her to handle. She ended up buying him when his owners couldn’t afford to keep him anymore, and has been working with him ever since. Under her ownership, Jack has transformed into a much safer horse, although he still has tantrums and can lash out unexpectedly when being worked, so he is only trusted with advanced riders.

Around the Moon and Back “Houston” - owned by Charlie Clements

Houston is Charlie’s first horse. He is a gentleman both on the ground and to ride, and has taught Charlie a lot in their time together. While he consistently performs well in the showjumping ring, he hates going to shows. Because of this, Charlie only rides him for fun, and doesn’t force him to be a show horse if he doesn’t want to.
