Died Standing Up
Died Standing Up is a Western myth graphic novel about a female Gunslinger defending her town from a ruthless gang under orders from their god, Pat Garrett. She ends up getting gunned down in a crossfire when the Regulators, Pat’s posse, are looking for a train robber. She crawls to a bar where a stranger offers her a last drink before she dies. After drinking the flask she is reborn as Auger sent on the hunt against Pat and his Regulators by the stranger, new companion/patron, revealed to be Billy the Kid himself back for revenge for being shot in the back by a coward.
The story then picks up with Auger fighting across The Road of the Gods recruiting various allies from American Western mythos like Jessie James, The Wild Bunch, and Annie Oakley. On their recruitment drive, our hero is stopped by multiple villains from The West, like Doc Holiday, The Earp Brothers, and Luke Short. A star-studded cast of historical figures reborn from their legends in old dime novels.
My favorite parts involve the back-and-forths of Auger and her warlock-like patron Billy trying to help her recruit his buddies from before he got ambushed. It’s wonderfully drawn with full-spread duels and expertly crafted shoot-outs in iconic locations like The OK Coral and Coffeyville. The final fight makes me wish I could forget this book just so I could pick it back up and experience it again.

A review of From the Graves to the Sea by Robert J. Blackwood
From the Graves to the Sea is a horror/pirate story about the death of pirate captain, a lich who wants to sail the seas, and their body benefactor.
The story opens with a lich calling themselves Admiral Grimrot arriving at “The Port That Isn’t There” due to the death of the aforementioned captain. Once there Grimrot starts trying to find a crew to work with but no-one seems to want a lich on the crew. Go figure. After they fail to join a crew a new ally approaches them. A mortician by the name of Rachel “Mistress of the Mausoleum” Wilder. This is where the story really picks up after they start raising long dead pirates to fill the crew. Once obtaining a decent sized crew and several victories at sea under the pairs belts, now Quartermaster, Wilder comes up with the idea of raiding Port Valoroso, the most fortified compound on this side of the country. An idea that cost the pirate Captain Stormblade his ship, Tempest Squall, and his life. I can’t in good conscience spoil the fight, both at the fort and between Grimrot’s pirate dream and Rachel's growing ego, so I must recommend you read the book here.  From the Graves to the Sea
