-A video. [Redacted] steps into his living room, and from the way the crystals outside his window are glowing, it must be very early in the morning. He flicks the light on…-

-And immediately the glow surrounding him gets brighter and his wings puff out behind him, shocked.

-He calms down pretty quick, not scared of his four kids. He does look pretty surprised though.-

[How… long have you been planning this?]

Little over a month. We thought you’d prefer to have company today.

Yep! Plus it’s just a funny idea to see if we could scare you.

-As the four talk amongst themselves, [Redacted] tilts his head to the side. If you could see his face, he’d probably be smirking. He glances over at the bookshelf in the room, at two pictures in particular. They both look to be pictures taken on his birthdays, likely before the calamity. Then he looks back over at the four, and stands up, walking back over. He ruffles Niko’s hair, and then joins the conversation.-

-He seems happy. That’s good.-

-A video. Odds are it’s being taken by Niko, given [Redacted] is laying face down on the floor.-

Uh… you good [Redacted]?

-He gives a thumbs up to the camera, and proceeds to continue laying face down on the floor.-

[Niko?]

“Hey d- [Redacted].”

[Something wrong?]

“Uhm… not really? I just…”

[What’s up bud?]

“I had a weird feeling, and I wanted to make sure you were okay.”

“Don’t- don’t please. I just wanted to make sure you were alright. I’m sorry.”

[Niko it’s okay. I promise. I’m fine, I will be fine, and if you need, I can come tomorrow to confirm to you that I am fine.]

The Dad: They only did it for new students. And knowing me, I would’ve skipped it had it been required every year anyways.

I’ve come to a conclusion.

Whenever I say I’m going to come back, I forget. I don’t know why, but it just happens.

This has been a problem the entirety of my summer break.

But during the school year it was very much not a problem, because I was on a computer constantly, which meant I always had this open and would have the ability to remember to post.

So here’s what I’m gonna do.

I’m gonna go on effectively hiatus on all the roleplay blogs until the beginning of my school year (sometime in August?), and if I’m active at all it’s really only going to be here on the art blog.

That way I don’t have to feel bad about forgetting to do things, I have time to fix the art burnout before the school burnout returns, and I have time to work on some other art stuff I wanted to do involving both Pokemon, Oneshot, [Redacted] and his homeworld, and some other stuff. Hopefully this fixes my problem of “Oh shit I forgot I was supposed to be doing things.”

So this is I guess a temporary goodbye from me? Yeah that sounds good.

-Far off in the distance, music can be heard. But more clearly heard is the sound of footsteps, which eventually come to a stop.-

“[Hey Lumen. Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve visited.]”

-The sound of someone kneeling down is heard next, and then finally the full view can be seen-

”[Sorry it’s been so long. Been kinda busy.]”

-[Redacted] goes silent again, clearly unsure of what to say.-

“[I wondered for a while, but… I thought I’d see you when I died the last time…]”

-He sighs, and sets down another blue flower withe ones that are already on the tomb.-

“[I figured that you intentionally didn’t come. Maybe you’re still upset with me for what I did to you as a teenager, and probably the way I treated you after… everything.]”

-Once again he goes quiet, for a lot longer this time.-

“[I don’t blame you. I was kind of an asshole then.]”

-He shakes his head, and there’s a bit of a wobble to their voice when he speaks again-

“[I just wish you were still here. I wish everyone was. I’d love for you to meet the kids I’ve basically adopted at this point. I think you’d like them.]”

-He’s visibly crying at this point, but he’s trying to keep himself calm.-

“[I wish I could tell you I’m sorry.]”

-He slowly stands back up, and turns around.-

“[You’d love the festival. I know that much.]”

-And with that, he heads back towards the sound of the music, the massive mountain where the avian capital city is located, already glowing with the light of thousands of crystals.-

-Update: Mystery white dress girl has a space lookin thing and it almost got murdered by a bunch of birds

-I proceeded to fight one of the birds, damage the bridge, get to the space Pokemon, and then it exploded or something and broke the bridge

-Initially thought that was bad but some yellow Pokemon that could fly saved me and the space thing.

-The girls name is Lillie. Interesting way to spell that but it is what it is..?

-I met the kahuna person, he seemed nice? Told me to join in some festival

-also the yellow flying one gave me a stone and the kahuna decided he was going to borrow it for some reason.

-I’ve caught a few Pokemon. A grubbin I named Fulmen and a Yungoos I named Aveo.

-I’ve already come to the conclusion any Pokemon I catch with end up with either a name that means something specific in my world or something intended to be funny, like Niko Jr.

-Speaking of Niko Jr., they have learned how lick things now. This can only end poorly.

-Apparently the… region? Yeah that word. The region this is taking place in is called Alola? Looks like it’s based off some tropical islands.

-I swear I’ve heard the word Pokemon before now, but I can’t think of where.

-I have a mom in this game? I could never-

-Almost got murdered by some weird fuzzy long noodle but then proceeded to get saved by a cat an owl and a seal

-I picked the cat

-I proceeded to nickname the cat “Niko Jr.”

-Niko has found out, they immediately said they weren’t a cat and started laughing

-Mystery girl in a white dress has now been seen twice.

-Also there’s a green haired kid who very much gives of the energy that Magrieus did.

Within [Redacted]’s room, there’s a flash of light from their desk. As the light clears, what seems to be a few lines of binary hover in the air around a strange device, and then they fade away. Next to the device is a small gray square that has a blue picture on the front, and a note next to it. The note reads as follows:

“Hello [Redacted]. You may not know who I am, and it’s not likely you ever will. I’m an outsider to even the worlds you can enter. But I can still interact with these worlds despite this.

The device that’s on your desk now is called a 3DS. In my world it’s used for play video games, much like consoles I’m sure you have in your own. It’s a copy of the one I own myself. And next to it is a game that I’ve played countless times.

You may ask yourself why I’m doing this. And the answer kinda makes me sound kind of like the edgy interpretation of a character from another game I enjoy, but I promise it’s not coming from a malicious place. I’m mostly doing it out of curiosity. The very idea of seeing what you will do in this game I love so dearly is one that intrigues me to no end.

There’s no rush for you to play it. Take as long as you need. And if, when you finish the game, you find yourself wanting to learn more, just write a note. I’ll find a way to answer it.

For now, just enjoy. I’m looking forward to seeing what you think.

-[Redacted] was already sitting at their desk, working on a project mostly for fun, when the light flashed. He covered their eyes, and when he looked again, he saw just the faintest remaining flicker of binary.-

-The device on their desk was not one its ever seen before. It was white, with an orange border on the top half, an opening for… something on the bottom, and a power button as well. There was also a cord and what looked to be a game cartridge next to it, as well as the note.-

-After a moment, he picked up the note and began to read. It didn’t take long, since he was a fast reader, but he just felt more confused after having read the note.-

[Well that’s not what I thought was going to happen today…]

[I wonder who this “Z” person is anyway?]

-He chose not to think about it for too long, picking up the cartridge and putting it in the device, after a moment of confusion. Opening it up showed a few things, namely a screen on top that seemed to show whatever was mainly happening in game, and another on the bottom he guessed was supposed to be a touch screen.-

-He loaded the game up after a moment, slowly set it up so he could start. And finally…-

“Hang on, now. Gimme just a sec…”

“Hey there! Good evening!”

“So the day has finally come that you’re moving to Alola!”

-He got started-

([Redacted] actually does a couple things. Their main job is that he’s a book editor, and he’s pretty good at it too. He also sometimes takes commissions for art work, but that’s more of an on the side thing and he does it mostly for fun. And he also writes.
