A flurry of crisp embers danced in the air, tickling Kagome’s nostrils with tendrils of hot smoke; a visage of Kaede and Sango, Miroku, and Inuyasha flickered beneath the shifting lids of Kagome’s eyes. The fire before them was so warm, dusty, and.. tainted? A burning air crammed itself into Kagome’s lungs, making them feel hefty as they strained to shrink and expand inside her body. Kagome hastily opened her eyes with a panicked flutter of her lashes. She let out a sneeze from the ash that tickled her nose, and abruptly her lungs crumpled beneath the chasms of her chest at the mere sneeze. Upon making attempts to collect what breaths her lungs could withstand, Kagome coughed into the sullied air that had weighed into the cavernous valley of the Bone-Eater’s Well. There was more than the pungent stench of raging fires, and foul smoke— a compelling smell of the crisp odor of iron wafted its way into the well, presenting itself to Kagome as the familiar fetor of blood.

Obviously, something was immensely awry.

Taking in meager, shallow gulps of what clean air she might’ve been able to pluck from the smog and miasma wreaking havoc upon her internals, Kagome mustered some stoic willpower and climbed towards the smolder stained lip of the well.

Upon cresting the lip of the well, Kagome hastily swallowed the bile that tickled the back of her throat threateningly. Her stinging eyes studied the barren ‘scape of the forest leading to Edo. Kagome nearly swallowed her tongue while attempting to gather what circumstances had led to this devastation of the land; however, Kagome could not stay halfway outside of the Bone-Eater’s well, forever.

Edo was in need of her. . .

Somehow, in 2022, Tumblr University finally exists, but the only offering is a semester long English course about Dracula and everyone is enrolled

One thing I haven't seen Inuyasha fanfic authors talk about (probably because they don't want to seem ungrateful for comments) is the very weird amount of comments from readers wanting the ship you just wrote about, be it in a oneshot or completed chapter story - to get married and have babies.

I get wanting your ship to be together, forever, but I have to wonder why there's this demand. Not every fanfiction should end the same way, and Babies Ever After might not fit with the natural stopping point the story has reached. Its pretty darn disheartening to finish writing a fic only to get a comment wanting the same tired thing of you to 'write more' not because of any loose plot threads, but because they want to see your ship have kids.

Again, I'm not ungrateful for the comments received, I'm just putting it out there that if you are a reader, to maybe focus on what you enjoyed in the existing story you just read - not suggesting to the author what you personally wanted to see happen.

Whole-heartedly BEGGING writers to unlearn everything schools taught you about how long a paragraph is. If theres a new subject, INCLUDING ACTIONS, theres a new paragraph. A paragraph can be a single word too btw stop making things unreadable
