Woahhhh I haven’t posted on here in forever

Hahaha I was looking through my computer at a load of old word documents I created about various things and thought I’d post one here cause why the fuck not :P

(please note I know I am a terrible writer, I was when I wrote this and I still am, I am under no impression that this is good :P)

achilles is so often called gay by the community and straight by society even though he fell in love with men and women. freddie mercury is known as the most famous gay man even though he self identified as bisexual. channing tatum is constantly called straight even though he’s dated men and women. evan rachel wood and angelina jolie and drew barrymore–all self identified bi women constantly called straight.

sappho wrote love poems for both men and women and yalls response to the idea that she might have been bi is “there was no concept of bi/gay back then!! let’s focus on the fact that she was sapphic!!” to the point where her name has become synonymous with gay and she’s called a lesbian icon and y'all only seem to have issues with “concepts” and labels when the concept/label is BI. why am i not surprised?

~*WARNING: Rant below*~

One of the countless things that bothers me about the Brock Turner case is the fact that one of the factors in deciding his embarrassingly short sentence was his age. The judge decided that his youth was a factor in his ‘poor judgement’.

What bothers me about this is the fact that girls are taught from and extremely young age to fear rape and assault. We are taught ways to 'prevent’ us from being violated before we even hit puberty. So why is it that while women are subjected to this fear for most of our lives starting at a young age, this ADULT is considered too young to face the consequences of his actions but we are forced to face these atrocities when we are half his age?

How is it that he is old enough to commit these actions but he is 'too young’ to face the music? Brock Turner is an ADULT, and to treat him like a child and give him a slap on the wrist while his victim has to deal with his 'youthful mistake’ for the rest of her life is an insult to all rape and assault victims. Six months from now he will be able to rebuild. He will still have his entire life ahead of him. Meanwhile his victim has been forced to serve a life sentence of fear, pain, and anguish.

Brock Turner isn’t some teenager that made a little mistake. He is an adult that ruined a young woman’s life, with a disturbing lack of remorse or regard for what he has done.
