Nick tries to explain his presences in Natalie's apartment. Nick says, I really wasn't trying to intrude. Natalie asks, Well, then, what are you doing here? Natalie signals to Nick to go into the kitchen. Natalie tells Roger, We will be just a minute. Nick escorts Natalie into the kitchen.

Nick puts down the receiver of the phone as Natalie & Roger step into her apartment. Natalie says, Nick? Nick answers, Nat, I just tried to page you. Natalie has an annoyed look on her face.

As Natalie and Roger continue to kiss the door swings open. Nick clears his throat to get Natalie's attention. To Natalie and Rogers shock, Nick is inside Natalie's apartment. He has been paging Natalie on her telephone.

Natalie's pager goes off. Natalie says, Sorry, It's my pager. It's a miracle it hasn't gone off before now. I guess I should call. Do you want to come in? Roger kisses Natalie again as she opens her front door.

Natalie is giggling as she comes up the stairs with Roger to her apartment. Roger says, Well, at least that was a little break from the office. Natalie answers, Uh, just alittle, yeah. Aw, poor kite. Natalie unlocks the door to her apartment. Roger says, Yeah, maybe we should get one of those ten-year -olds to try and help us fly the thing. Roger and Natalie begin to kiss.

George Bonfrey runs down another alleyway. He realizes no one is behind him. George stops running and starts to walk with a smile on his face. He thinks he's gotten away from Nick and Schanke. Nick flies in front of George and takes him by surprise. Nick with his badge and gun drawn pins George to some stairs. Nick announces, Bonfrey, you're under arrest.

George Bonfrey runs down the alley and comes across a gate. He lock the gate with a padlock to stop Nick and Schanke from coming after him. Nick and Schanke run up to the locked gate. Nick tells Schanke, Damn. All right, try and cut him off around the other side. Go on. Schanke takes off. Nick with his vampire strength rips the gate off it's hinges and throws it down the alley. Nick goes running after George Bonfrey.

Schanke sees their suspect, Geroge Bonfrey and says, Hey, there he is. Schanke and Nick exit Nick's caddy and and confront the suspect. Nick announces, George Bonfrey? Metro police. George Bonfrey takes off running down the alleyway.

Schanke asks, What time did the owner say his shift was starting, anyway? Nick is staring off into space. Schanke says, Hello? Nick comes out of his daydream and says, Oh, I was listening . I was. Schanke asks, From what remote satellite? And by the way, how is that hole in the ozone layer doing? I'm mean, if I'm boring you, Nick, just tell me. Geez, I sound like Myra. Nick says, Now, listen, you haven't told me. How did you two meet anyway? Schanke taps Nick's shoulder and points.

As the sun sets on Toronto, Nick and Schanke are sitting in Nick's caddy on a stakeout for a suspect, George Bonfrey. Schanke says, He's got three prior convictions, two for petty theft, one for rape, several misdemeanor charges, indecent exposure, lewd behavior in public...It's a wonder this guy finds time to come into work at all.

Natalie comes back from her memory and says, I'm sorry, what did you say? Roger says, I said, we probably have a lot in common. Natalie says, Well, that could very well be. Roger asks, What do you say we find out just how much? Natalie asks, Now? Roger asks, Why not? It seems to me like you could use some fresh air. Natalie says, Well, it is supposed to be my day off. Roger says, I say we fly a kite. Natalie asks, A kite? Roger says, A kite. Natalie says, Okay. Roger says, Come on.

Flashback: Natalie's 28th birthday

As Nick places the back of Natalie's hand on his cheek, she gasps and says, You're so cold. Nick answers, I'm dead. Natalie says, No. No, you're not. You're not dead. Nick gives Natalie a puzzled look. Natalie just stares at him.

Flashback: Natalie's 28th birthday

Natalie walks nearer to Nick with fascination and she says, A vampire? Nick answers, Yes. Natalie reaches her hand out to touch Nick and he grabs her hand to stop her. Nick takes the back of her hand and places it on his cheek.

Back at the park, Natalie and Roger are taking a walk after their picnic lunch together. Natalie says, I usually buy my lunch from a dispensing machine and eat it by the warm glow of my computer screen. Roger says, You see? You do work too hard. You've got to get out more. That's what summer's for. Natalie says, Yeah, it's been awhile, all right... a while since I've spent any time in the sun. Natalie's statement triggers and send her back to the memory of her 28th birthday. Nick finishes his bag for blood and throws the empty bag across the room then tells Natalie, I am a vampire.

At the coroner's office, the telephone rings and Grace answers the phone, Forensics. Nick says, Hi, Grace. It's Nick Knight. Is Natalie there? Grace answers, No, you just missed her, detective. Any message? Nick says, No, no, I was just calling to check in. Grace says, She shouldn't be too late. She had a... lunch date. Grace hangs up the phone. Nick has a disappointed look on his face.

Natalie says, Ah, yes, I believe I'm wearing a formaldehyde-based scent today. Actually, I'm a little surprised you'd be up for a picnic with me considering I nearly knocked you unconscious. Roger says, I like a woman who packs a good punch. Natalie asks, Are you always this cheerful? Roger asks, What is there not to be cheerful about? Natalie says, I don't know. Maybe I work too hard. Roger says, I think you probably do.

At a busy park, Natalie and Roger are having lunch. Natalie asks, So, how's the nose? Roger answer, Well, I can still smell things. Grass, flowers, your perfume.
