Relic: Hotted Symbol Print
A sheet of heat resistant material with painted-on Hotted symbols.
1 SMC old as of the time of writing. The sheet itself is composed of mixed metals and biological materials from Firim organisms. The lighter pigment is created by scraping the top layer of dead skin from a Hotted, then crushing it with certain Hotted minerals. The darker pigment is entirely crushed Hotted minerals.
Both symbols were painted by applying pigment to a Hotted front foot, and pressing it into the sheet at different angles.
The top symbol is the “Sun Symbol”. The sun of Hotted is extremely important in nearly all native religions. Less common, but still very present is the idea of Hotteds having descended from the sun, or sky. The particular sect that the painter belongs to believes that Hotteds were cast down from the heavens to live on Hotted as punishment for grave sin.
The bottom symbol represents a Hotted, and typically has much less religious significance.
Hotteds frequently use pigment to paint images on the rocks of Hotted. Their lack of digits and grasping abilities limit them to visually simpler art, but Hotted paintings often have deep emotional or spiritual meaning to them. Actual written language is practically absent, likely due to three factors: the Hotteds’ poor manipulation, the extreme complexity of Hotted spoken language, and the little need for written language in the highly nomadic native lifestyles of Hotteds. Nevertheless, paintings can serve as communication between herds/clans, through intentional visual messaging, or by simply showing that "We were here".
Procured by Team Firim Sunset, headed by Captian Fiezu. Painted by Matriarch EhzR’ ahiR’| Demonstomper of the Sunfoot Herd.
#hotted#pyros#meteos#one of a few “relics” i have stored#where i have a little image and then some lore writings related to it#which is hopefully better than plain lore dumps or trying to convey it primarily through art/imagery#anyways enjoy#id in alt text#p.s. SMC stands for “standard macro-cycles” which is supposed to be a year equivalent#but i forgot the exact duration of it in human terms so. um.

i'm gonna be 100% honest there has been a stupid meteos-themed sex joke that has been stuck in my head for an actual year now. like i have been holding off on posting it for months because i'm not gonna post that with no warning but i want to. so bad. it's been living in my head rent-free and i think it's actually a bit clever but like. come on.

Seven renders of the Seven Sages.
Modeling the sages were easy, but making the rocks they spit out was hard. I could have used the models of the rocks from Meteos Wars, but I have trouble trying to extract the models from that game.

I managed to rip the models from models from Meteos Wars, so here are some stuff I made in Blender.
Edit: Non of these models have armature of some sorts. When I extracted them, they had none. The Grannestian is a custom model I made, not from the game.

Added a custom texture (Mekks and Wiral's Meteos design from Meteos Online) to the Meteo models from Wars.

By using some models from Meteos Wars, I created this mockup of the gameplay. I didn't really put the rest of the assets because... to be frank, I don't really know how to recreate the UI to its exactness.

Thanks to some help from the Metamo Ark discord, I was able to fix some errors I encountered while trying to rip certain models of the planets. Here are the Mechatropoloids grouping with their aliens. One of these planets in this group are not meant for screen clears, which its missions requires it to do.

The Electric Nymphs are a group consisting of two planets thmed after electronics. The mission of this group is to launch 30 Meteos at once, which happens to be the easiest out of the other two missions that require you to launch a certain amount of Meteos. But then again, going the easy route won't get you anything rewarding.

Another Meteos Wars mockup, but with Megadom. Megadom is using Gambit's tileset because its based off of the planet's tileset.

Could I get more info on the Makers (I think you called them) please? I love their designs sm
you can! to recap and elaborate on what i said (or implied) about them in tags:
they’re the organic natives of Grannest, who fled when the planet became uninhabitable due to pollution (this is going off the wars lore for Grannest)
they’re the creators of the current, robotic Grannestians
they have the unfortunate combination of being both a social species and being very territorial, meaning that while they require a certain amount of social interaction to be happy, being in the presence of others (of their species) for too long can greatly irritate them
the Grannestian robots were created as companions before anything else, to combat this problem. even the biggest or tiniest workbots have basic personality and socializing capabilities. that's the biggest reason why the bots were able to maintain a society after the Makers left.
their current living situation (in space) isn’t particularly pleasant, with basic survival taking up too much time and resources for them to improve their conditions by much (constant close quarters with their own kind, no robots, very few members of other species, also the whole “fleeing the planet” thing was very slipshod so their infrastructure isn’t great)
their current location is quite far away from any planet or major space station, which contributes to the above problems
they'd probably be called Grannestians because i doubt the robots would change the name of the planet, but if i was gonna give them a proper, seperate name, i'd go with not-so-subtle meteos naming tradition and call them Solotons (sah-lah-tahns, like solitude and also it has solo in it). i imagine the robot Grannestians would near solely refer to them as Makers or some other title
they're typically about a dozen meters tall, not quite Suburbionite size but close
speaking of them, there are parallels with the Suburbionites, but the Suburbionites had well established habitation stations prior to their planet's destruction (and that destruction also killed off or massively weakened most of the warring parties but this post ain't about that)
another difference is that compared to the Solotons/Makers and their setup, the Suburbionite stations are ancient. given enough time and progress, the collection of Soloton/Maker stations/ships (the Soloton Swarm as I like to call it) could become an assembly stable enough to be given planet status similar to Suburbion or other artificial planets. perhaps one day they could develop tech that could allow them to recolonize Grannest. hopefully, since the Grannestians are still waiting for them.
also since it's been decades since i posted about them here's some art i've posted before
#meteos#grannestian makers#aka#solotons#ask#long post#i forgot how to ramble in tags. fuck#well i guess this whole post is rambling so that makes up for it
