A quint ghoul that loves to help others, but can’t exactly heal. He can take an ailment from a mortal, but it goes to the ghoul instead.

YouTube keeps recommending me the most obscure dramas I’ve never even heard of

So uh

I just thrifted two books that I thought were gonna be up my alley, as these books are based on Phantom Of The Opera and Sweeney Todd, but realized too late that these books have content that isn’t for me.

These books are Phantom and Dreadful by Greer Rivers and they are dark romance novels.

I may try to get as far into them as I can to attempt a review, but if I can’t, I’ll be reselling them. I got them both for 2 USD (2 bucks per book, not 2 bucks together), and I will be reselling them as that price.

I’ll let y’all know when I have officially put them up for sell. If anyone is interested, one or both of these books will be sold to the first person who DMs me.

(Forgive me for using your post to ramble about my OC)

I have a ghoul oc that infantalizes/dumbifies himself on purpose. He was summoned and given a weak vessel by teenage cultists who didn’t know what they were doing and left him to fend for himself. His body is constantly dying and trying to heal itself in a never ending cycle so he’s handicapped in a lot of ways, but he at least still has the abilities to fight and save himself from enemies if it came down to it.

He purposefully acts like an ignorant pet to gain sympathy and pity from mortals so they learn to underestimate him, so when they turn against him, he’s able to surprise them with his wit and what strength he has.

As someone whose had a lot of people tell me ideas about Ghost ghouls having animalistic (and often times infantilizing and dehumanizing) behaviours, I’d like to switch this up

They don’t struggle with wanting to eat objects. They struggle when a sibling of the Congregation breaks her arm near them. They see the bone and tendon through broken skin and have to run before they break her far worse

They struggle with getting too close during a sexual encounter, with mouths open over arteries that can kill with a simple knick. They want to feel the life leave their partner so badly, it scares the partner away

They struggle with being seen as disposable by humans. They struggle with violence against those who summoned them. They struggle with controlling their demonic powers and urges is way more fun and honestly way more interesting to see from the perspective as a human who struggles with psychosis and violent, oftentimes unsavoury intrusive thoughts
