This arrived in the mail today and took my "eh" day and turned it into "let's have a party" kind of day. This is cause for celebration!

Goals
Goals are a great way for me to make sure my kiddos are on track while allowing them the freedom to learn it independently if they are so inclined. I actually could go on an in about the benefits of having a list of goals for the year but that’s not why I’m here. Last night I gathered my resources and sat down to write this list out. These goals are things my kids need to know before promoting to the next level. In a public school setting, these goals should take the school year and prepare your student for the next grade. At home, my kiddos are free to work on their goals in any order, ask for help or work independently, finish a goal at any time, etc. As I sat down to write out the goals for the year, my kindergarten kiddo was a breeze! I had a list of kindergarten goals that were mostly perfect and the list only needed a little tweaking. The boy child's list was a little more challenging challenging. Because his skills are so varied from just at age (grade) level to "where did my 9 year old learn THAT!?", these goals must be extremely personalized to meet his unique needs so that he can be successful. Even then, I suspect that most of the goals will be met before spring and that we will promote early. After several hours of trying to write out his goals, I decided to pray about them and try again tomorrow (which is now today because I've spent so long stressing about it and now writing this) If you see me tomorrow and I'm in the fetal position with tears streaming down my face, just give me a cup of coffee and a hug and remind me that I am qualified and am the best teacher for my children and that I can provide my children with an amazing education.
